Each Bastion City had thousands of arrays that helped divert the energy spreading from the roots, trunk, branches, and many other parts of the Ethereal Lumina Tree. The density of arrays at the roots was the lowest, but it was important, since that was where the root absorbed energy from the Dragon Realm Vein and distributed it across various Dragon Veins throughout the realm to grow and breathe heaven and energy.
It was said that this was one way in which Dragon Veins came into existence karmically.
Dragon Veins were the earthly source of heaven and energy in a land that isn't near the Ethereal Lumina Tree and the Realm Core. In the Upper Realm Space, it was usually tiered into Heaven Dragon Vein that supports Exalts, Earth Dragon Vein that supports Empyreans, and Mortal Dragon Vein that supports Immortal Emperors and below.
If the realm ever starts lacking Dragon Veins and is in dire need of replacement, it was theorized that the Ethereal Lumina Tree will send karmic energy somehow through the roots and Dragon Realm Vein, allowing a Dragon Vein to come into existence.
This process could take thousands or even millions of years, depending on the realm's condition.
This was also why a land that has a Dragon Vein was blessed with karmic luck. However, it is said that if this doesn't happen for a long time, it would signify the start of a Desolate Era, something which every ruler feared.
However, the fear manifested directly underneath the Bastion Cities and walked through the underground routes.
Davis brought Epsila and Fairy Divinacia to the destination after walking through many pathways. He didn't head straight but took many different pathways that didn't necessarily lead to the destination.
After ten minutes, the underground corridor eventually widened into a colossal circular chamber.
An enormous formation complex occupied the center of the chamber, layered with tens of thousands of revolving runic circles stacked one above another like heavenly gears. Vast streams of heaven and earth energy flowed through transparent crystalline channels embedded into the walls, floor, and ceiling, converging toward the center before dispersing into countless directions throughout the city, where there were more distribution formations to spread the heaven and earth energy.
But they were certainly not spread evenly, as most of this energy was focused on the core city.
Nonetheless, the air here itself trembled from the density of the heaven and energy. It was incredulous that Davis would feel breathing here felt nourishing.
Because he was City Lord Kain at the moment, he was once again able to breathe in heaven and earth energy without having to use Enigmatic Heart Laws to impose his Will.
It felt so good as though he was high up in the mountains and inhaling the purest, freshest air to exist in the world, although it was certainly damp.
At the center, a gigantic azure crystal sphere hundreds of meters wide floated. Countless threads of luminous energy flowed within it like rivers trapped inside a star. Every few moments, the sphere pulsed softly, causing the surrounding formations to rotate and redistribute energy toward different Dragon Veins across the city, keeping a constant flow of heaven and earth energy that didn't let them die off because of karma.
Fairy Divinacia's eyes glowed faintly with fascination.

City Lord Davis nodded. The moment he karmic impersonated City Lord Kain, his plan to steal energy became clearer in his mind since he now knew the ins and outs of this area, not to mention had full control and authority to invite and evict any person from here.

Davis also didn't understand much as the complexities were far above his studies. However, City Lord Kain knew how to operate it. He placed his hand on the pillar with the formation core in his hand.

Davis could visibly sense the terrifying concentration increasing within that tiny seed. What appeared no larger than a marble now contained enough heaven and earth energy to sustain a few Low Stage Exalts cultivating at full power for hundreds of years.
Yet Fairy Divinacia showed no signs of stopping, like she was a bottomless abyss. Her rate of absorption was also crazy, so when she pulled in energy that was flowing through that valve's channel, she also ended up making the distribution number slightly drop, but it was still within the threshold that raised alarms.
Even if the alarms went off, it would only invite the maintenance crew and not the other Bastion cities' attention, so Davis wasn't worried.
