Within the confines of the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Academy, Caso was following behind his mentor on patrol. The sky was filled with squadrons of Strabamite guardians. Every level was on high alert.

It was dead quiet.

“Sigh…”

Caso could not help but let out a sigh. It was that damned Concealed One from the Hydra Wrath Academy. He was supposed to join in the battle at the Hydra Wrath Academy with his mentor, Pierre d’Bout. Now, they had been assigned by the dean to stand guard as patrols in the academy to fortify the defenses.

What a terrifying Concealed One…

For the past few days, he had heard from his mentor, the Level-2 Sorcerer Pierre that other than being responsible for attacking the Sorcerer Tower and destroying the guardian’s nest, the Concealed One had also assassinated more than fifteen Sorcerers. Most of them were Level-2 elite Sorcerers of the academy!

The dean, in an effort not to stir up any more fear, had to put the news on a lockdown. He had been preparing in the dark and was making plans against the Concealed One.

The best proof for all these was the activation of the Three-Rings magic interdiction!

“At least our job’s done. Caso, go and get prepared. I’m going to meet Dean Migo and apply to head into the frontlines.”

Pierre said as he turned around.

Bam!

Caso was overjoyed. Finally, no more patrols in the academy. Maybe the Concealed One had left the academy. These few days had been boring…

Boom!

Caso was looking forward to heading into the frontlines of the Academy War to prove himself. Suddenly, within the peaceful boundary of the Three-Rings Magic Interdiction zone, an ear-piercing explosion erupted from the mid-levels of the Sorcerer Tower that tore through the academy!

It was vastly overwhelming.

A fearful energy beam that terrified Caso shot out from the Sorcerer Tower. It pierced through the walls and magical barrier of the Mana Pool easily before penetrating the Three-Rings Magic Interdiction boundary like a gushing stream. The beam shot upward before vanishing in the skies.

The sudden and immense change in the air almost made Caso breathless.

Even Master Pierre was shocked as he channeled a steady magical power.

Thousands of Strabamite Guardians looked toward the hair-rising energy beam that tore through the sky. The scarlet hue of the pulverizing light filled their large eyes.

Immediately, these Strabamite Guardians swung their tails and dashed toward the Shadow Argus Sorcerer Tower fearlessly. Their cold emotions were like the Mechanical Marionettes.

Thousands more of Sorcerer-Apprentices who had yet to leave for the battlefield rushed out from their rooms. Strong gales blew their robes and hair into a mess. Their mouths were agape; eyes staring wide. They were in a state of shock as they saw the energy beam that was shooting into the sky hundreds of meters away.

Further out, every Sorcerer in patrol, regardless of their locations and what they were doing, turned around. The pupils of their eyes dilated as they took in the indestructible energy beam that was headed toward the sky, disturbing the elemental clouds above the tower in its path.

“Master…”

As he let out his words, Caso realized that his voice was stuttering and exceptionally coarse. Was he in fear?

“Ambush!”

Pierre d’Bout, the Level-2 Sorcerer was quicker to react. In the sea of screams, dozens of patrolling Sorcerers all sprung into action in the boundary of the Three-Rings Magic Interdiction zone. They rushed into the Sorcerer Tower where the terrifying eruption had taken place without hesitation.

On the wall of the Sorcerer Tower on the 58th level.

A clean, five-meter wide hole had appeared on the surface. It was a nice complement to the hole on the 66th floor that had been repaired recently.

Whoosh! A disorganized figure emerged from the hole. His body was partially cloaked and distorted. Beneath the Mask of Truth, his eyes were staring right at the oncoming Strabamite Guardians and Sorcerers that were coming from all directions. He let out a shiver.

This person was the Sorcerer who had used the Magnetite Star Core to pierce through the Sorcerer Tower, Grimm, who was making a messy escape!

Within the Three-Rings boundary that interdicted spacetime, Grimm was unable to return to Little Myna through teleportation. He had to escape beyond the boundary of the Three-Rings’ Magical Interdiction Array.

It was obvious, however, that the hundreds of Strabamite Guardians and dozens of patrolling Arcane Sorcerers were not willing to give Grimm the chance to escape.

“Kimraig!”

An anguished roar came out from the hole in the Sorcerer Tower.

Although he was in a mess, Grimm could not help but chuckle coldly. The Level-2 Sorcerer that had been marked by the myna’s poo had been blown into smithereens.

If they were ready, the Level-3 Great Sorcerers might be able to dodge Grimm’s Star Core beam with Half-Step Time. These sorcerers obviously knew the power of the Magnetite Star Core’s attack, and that was why Grimm did not choose them as targets.

He had directly placed his target on the Level-2 Demon-Hunter Sorcerer, Kimraig, who carried a Rank-3 Honor Badge. With a single hit, not even a piece of flesh was left of him!

Grimm once offered him a chance to escape. Instead of taking it, he came back and looked for trouble with Grimm who was casting a spacetime sealing spell.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The six Level-3 Sorcerers were right behind Grimm. They appeared from the hole as well. Amirangelo looked up to the sky to see the partially distorted figure. There was a hint of terror in his eyes.

He just had a brush with death.

If he were hit by that scathing attack, even if it were just a graze, he would probably not survive it. Kimraig was the best example.

Buzz!

In a thunderous flash, Paku Aguda’s old sorceress bones turned into a streak of red lightning and crackled furiously in the sky. The lightning was directed at Grimm. The electric arc ignited sparks that sounded like water being dropped into a pot of hot oil.

“Advanced Materia Transmutation, Lightning Meltdown!”

Grimm was instantly reminded by the red lightning arc about the apocalyptic scene he once saw as an apprentice, when Master Peranos led him past a True Necromancer’s crater that was filled with lightning meltdowns and tempestuous storms.

The old Sorceress Paku Aguda had also achieved advanced transmutation as well. She was only a Rank-1 Honor Badge and a soul transmutation away from building her own tower and becoming a Stigmata Sorceress!

Grimm was fearless. He countered it with a black electric arc.

Boom! The black and red electric arc collided for a while. The red lightning arc was being pushed back. At the range limit of twelve meters, however, the black arc disappeared.

The surrounding light returned back to normal. Grimm turned around to dodge an oncoming lightning arc.

“What an advanced lightning transmutation!”

Old Sorceress Paku Aguda’s eyes were wide open in disbelief. Although she was able to maintain a longer period in channeling energy to the electric arc due to her Half-Step Time, in terms of damage points alone, her opponent’s was obviously one level above hers.

What she did not know, however, was that Grimm’s black lightning arc was the black flame of his destructive spell that was turned into a conduit by the World Veil.
