Chapter 1159: Arrival of the Light
Chapter 1159: Arrival of the Light
The radiant light resonant power broke through the dome of the hall and shone onto every corner. Under its majestic brilliance, the vast amount of corruption in the area rapidly retreated.
Jiang Qing’e slowly lowered down on a bed of light resonant power that flowed like water, looking like a goddess of light.
The first thing she did was look over at Li Luo. He was sitting in the lotus position at the center of the hall with his eyes shut.
Even with her aloof personality, she couldn’t help but stare at him momentarily, unable to suppress the emotions from surging within her heart.
A bright smile appeared on her usually calm and charming face.
“Li Luo, I’ve finally found you.”
However, she soon noticed that something was not right with Li Luo. Her eyes turned towards that strange left arm of his.
She saw Li Lingjing leaning onto him and biting his wrist.
At the next moment, Jiang Qing’e gripped her heavy sword. She almost slashed down with all her might instinctively. However, she did not do so in the end. With her acute senses to corruption, she could tell that the girl, shrouded in ice-cold energy, was actually absorbing the corruption gently from Li Luo’s arm.
Although she did not know of her identity or objective, she was definitely doing Li Luo a favor.
As such, Jiang Qing’e immediately shifted her attention towards the gate of the hall. She looked at the Blood Coffin Carrier surging with immense and wild energy.
“Double ninth-grade light resonances?!” The Blood Coffin Carrier was surprised when he saw the two light Spirit Avatars behind Jiang Qing’e. That was the signature trademark of someone with a ninth-grade light resonance. In other words, this girl in front of him had two of them?
In an instant, his surprise turned into disgust. Having fused with the Others, he felt an extreme sense of unease around the vast amount of divine power.
“Roar!”
The Blood Coffin Carrier roared loudly as he took heavy steps into the palace.
However, Jiang Qing’e did not spare him any quarter. She could tell that this person’s target was Li Luo.
A cold glint flickered across her eyes, and immense amounts of light resonant power surged up.
Jiang Qing’e formed a handseal with a single hand.
At the same time, the two Spirit Avatars behind her copied the same set of hand movements. Each of them raised one hand and placed their palm on her back. Radiant light energy condensed on their palms, which served as a conduit into her body. Whoosh!
Suddenly, an overwhelming amount of light resonant power poured directly into Jiang Qing’e’s body. The pulses of resonant power emanating from her body increased at an astonishing rate.
This was clearly some kind of secret art.
Jiang Qing’e lifted her sword, and the light resonant power flowed onto the blade like the holy water. At the same time, a holy halo appeared around the sword. This halo was nothing ordinary. If Li Luo’s eyes were open, he would notice that it was akin to his dual resonance power.
However, the dual light resonant from Jiang Qing’e was even more unique. There weren’t two different kinds of resonant power on this halo. Instead, it contained an extremely pure and concentrated kind of light resonant energy.
This is because both of her resonances were light resonances. Adding them together, there weren’t any special changes like Li Luo with his two different resonances. Her specialty lay in the ability to elevate her resonant power to a deeper level.
The purity of the energy from the combination of dual ninth-grade light resonances was something that not many knew of.
Light resonant power flowed down her heavy sword like holy liquid, and the sword began to undergo a mysterious transformation. It grew in size and dazzling gems began to materialize around the hilt and the blade.
It soon started emanating a majestic and divine aura.
After a few moments, it turned into a humongous, crystal-clear sword embedded with seven dazzling gems.
Bang!
The void in her surroundings trembled violently as soon as the sword materialized, and a terrifying energy wave swept across the field.
Thin veins appeared on her arms when Jiang Qing’e grabbed the sword.
“Duke Art, Seven Treasures Glazed Sword of Light.”
Jiang Qing’e’s eyes turned razor-sharp as she locked onto the Blood Coffin Carrier at the gate of the hall. A soft sound that only she could hear rang in the air. If Yue Zhiyu were here, she would likely scream in surprise. This Duke Art used by Jiang Qing’e was the Destiny-grade Duke Art created by the Third School Master of the Hallowed Coruscation Ancient College! Who would have thought that the Third School Master would teach it to Jiang Qing’e? And she had actually mastered it!
Her talent was truly shocking.
The Blood Coffin Carrier paused at the gate. A terrified look appeared on his vicious face for the first time. He actually felt a real threat to his life from the huge sword of light.
The flesh on the Blood Coffin Carrier’s body wriggled wildly, and eyeballs emerged on his flesh one after another. Then he began to move backwards one step at a time.
However, Jiang Qing’e did not give him a chance to retreat.
To protect Li Luo, she was ready to give it her all without any restraints.
Her palm rotated and she gave it a strong push.
Majestic and dazzling light energy shot out and reached every corner of the palace.
The Seven Treasures Glazed Sword of Light turned into a beam and flew across the air. It was so fast that it cut across the space as if it were light itself.
At this moment, the eyeballs that had protruded out of the Blood Coffin Carrier’s body shot out red beams of energy. Unfortunately, the beams evaporated in as soon as they came into contact with the Seven Treasures Glazed Sword of Light.
The Blood Coffin Carrier cried out furiously, pushing the defensive prowess of his body to its maximum.
If he couldn’t dodge it, he would have to face it head-on.
Unfortunately, he had overestimated his own defense and underestimated how terrifying the all-out strike from Jiang Qing’e was.
The giant sword penetrated him. As soon as it came into contact, it disintegrated his body and flesh immediately. White bones full of strange, black creatures were revealed. In the next instant, these things were caught up in the light resonant power and turned into dust.
Bang!
The huge sword pinned the Blood Coffin Carrier to the ground.
A huge pit had appeared on the ground when the sword slammed into it.
The Blood Coffin Carrier cried out madly. He struggled as hard as he could, but it was pointless. The immense light energy had sealed up any chance for him to escape this alive.
After a few moments, the radiant light energy resided. All that was left in the huge pit was a pile of bones.
The formidable Blood Coffin Carrier had been finished off by Jiang Qing’e in a single strike!
Looking at the dead remains of the Blood Coffin Carrier, Jiang Qing’e raised her hand, and the huge sword flew back towards her. It rapidly shrank and the gems vanished. In the end, her original heavy sword fell back into her hands.
The light Spirit Avatars behind her back had disappeared too. Jiang Qing’e’s face was a little pale. That strike earlier had clearly left her exhausted.
However, she did not stop here. She grabbed her sword and slowly landed in the hall.
She then turned around with the sword still in her hands. Her calm and cold eyes glanced towards the girl who was sucking the corruption out of Li Luo’s wrist.
At this point, Li Lingjing was near the end as well. After a few moments, her sharp fangs slowly released Li Luo’s wrist. She could sense the cold stare coming from Jiang Qing’e, but her expression remained calm.
She held onto the Aquamarine Bamboo Python Staff on her side and stood up. Then she turned around and looked straight back into Jiang Qing’e’s eyes.
An endless amount of radiant light energy was pouring out behind Jiang Qing’e.
Due to half of the True Devil Egg that she had just absorbed, Li Lingjing was similarly overflowing with energy. However, it was black and icy, the antithesis to the warm light. A line of distinction could be clearly seen between the light and darkness.
Li Luo was sitting with his eyes closed right in the middle of them.
