Chapter 1204: A New Development

Chapter 1204: A New Development

An airship sped across the sky. The majestic flag of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li’s Dragon’s Fang Lineage flew proudly on the mast.

“We need to enter a special portal in order to enter World End’s River Region. The nearest portal to us is just outside the Dragon’s Fang Domain, in a place known as Green Mountain City. It will take about three days of flight to get there,” Li Rouyun explained to the three youths on the airship with a warm smile.

The tall and fierce-looking Ox Biaobiao sat beside the group.

They were the two people accompanying Li Luo and his friends to World End’s River Region.

That place was full of danger, so Li Jingzhe had assigned some bodyguards to escort them there. Coincidentally, Ox Biaobiao was free and had volunteered for it.

With his personality, Ox Biaobiao wasn’t suited to stay in Dragon’s Fang Mountain to manage the affairs of the Green Nether Hall. World End’s River Region was a better place for him. He had been thinking of leaving Dragon’s Fang Mountain for a while, and this opportunity to go to World End’s River Region had come at a perfect time.

As for Li Rouyun, she was simply accompanying him.

The two of them had gotten together and were inseparable at the moment.

As such, they ended up being the bodyguards for this trip.

Ox Biaobiao was a seventh-grade Duke, while Li Rouyun was sixth-grade. They were more than strong enough to protect Li Luo and his friends.

“Uncle Biao, you are indeed charismatic. Aunt Yun was willing to put down all the matters in Green Nether Hall in order to follow you here,” Li Luo said playfully with a smile.

Ox Biaobiao’s aged face turned red. “She insisted on following me, so there’s nothing I can do. I am an adult, do I really need to have someone accompany me?”

Li Rouyun smiled at Li Luo. “Don’t worry, Hall Master. I settled all of the affairs of the Green Nether Hall before departing, so there won’t be any problems.”

“Uncle Biao is so lucky,” Li Luo said.

His father was the Hall Master of the Green Nether Hall, but he had been missing for so many years. If not for Li Rouyun’s help, the hall would have turned into a complete mess long ago.

Ox Biaobiao said, “In my eyes, she’s still the little girl from the past. She always wanted to tag along with Li Taixuan and I when we went out training.”

In the past, he was very close to Li Taixuan. When they adventured together in the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent, Li Rouyun had just entered the Duke Stage. As such, she was always seen as a younger sister in his eyes.

Li Luo rubbed his chin. “So, Aunt Yun has been charmed by Uncle Biao since then? Hehe, Uncle Biao, you’re the embodiment of the saying, ‘the old cow enjoys tender grass most.’”

Li Rouyun’s face turned a little red, but she did not say anything.

Ox Biaobiao’s dark face turned even darker.

Nonetheless, Li Luo was truly happy for the two of them, especially Li Rouyun. As far as she knew, Li Lingjing had passed away in the Spiritual Resonance Cave. It was an extremely large blow to her, and it was said that she had cried every day when she first learned about it.

Fortunately, Ox Biaobiao was around to keep her company and help her work through her sorrow.

It was not easy for Li Luo to talk about Li Lingjing’s actual situation. After all, she had chosen to walk down an unorthodox path. Li Rouyun would surely be worried sick if she found out, so letting her live in ignorance was probably for the best.

On the side, Jiang Qing’e and Li Hongyou smiled a little.

Li Rouyun quickly changed the topic of the conversation. “Little Luo, you may be interested in the news that I received earlier.”

“What is it?” Li Luo asked curiously.

“I heard that Qin Yi, the Fairy of Water from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qing, has obtained nine Heavenly Pearls. She then proceeded to break into the True Seal-grade afterwards.”

“Qin Yi? She’s gotten nine Heavenly Pearls?” Li Luo was a little shocked, but it was not unexpected. After all, Qin Yi had a lower ninth-grade water resonance, as well as unparalleled talent and an impressive background. This achievement was not an impossible feat for her.

Entering the nine-pearl tier was a leap forward. If it wasn’t for the opportunities he had obtained in the Fifth Minor Earthly Branch Realm, Li Luo would likely be at the True Seal-grade as well.

Jiang Qing’e glanced over at Li Luo and asked, “Fairy of Water Qin Yi? Who’s that?”

Li Luo’s face did not change as he answered, “It’s the mortal enemy that I told you about. She is the daughter of Qin Lian.”

“Is that so? Then I’ll wreck that flower ruthlessly when we meet each other,” Jiang Qing’e replied.

“I definitely have no objections to that!” Li Luo made his stance clear. “To be honest, Qin Lian is the crazy one, whereas her daughter is more normal.”

“So you don’t want to see her take a beating?” Jiang Qing’e asked back.

Li Luo cried back, “I’m not even close to her. Honestly.”

He saw Li Rouyun trying hard to hold back her laughter and said helplessly, “Aunt Yun, you’re too good at causing trouble. By the way, what about Chu Qing?”

He recalled that Chu Qing was at the pinnacle of the Greater Heavenly Resonance Tier when they first met. More than a year had passed, so he must have entered the Duke Stage already.

“Chu Qing entered the Duke Stage a year ago as you might have guessed. He already had two resonances before that, so he gained a third resonance, a lower ninth-grade one for that matter. After that, he went to World End’s River Region and made a name for himself, winning numerous praises from Qin Lian,” Li Rouyun explained.

“A lower ninth-grade third resonance?”

Li Luo’s eyes moved a little. Chu Qing had started off with a quasi ninth-grade and an upper eighth-grade dual resonances. Now he had a lower ninth-grade as his third resonance. He was truly the cream of the crop amongst his peers.

Fortunately, he paled in comparison to Jiang Qing’e.

He wondered if they would meet Chu Qing in World End’s River Region.

The mad Qin Lian was always comparing herself to his mother. Now that both her daughter and disciple had fallen behind, it was obvious how she’d react when she learned about it.

As the airship continued to cruise in the sky, the passengers continued to chat casually.

Three days later, they arrived at Green Mountain City.

It was a bustling city, but Li Luo and the group did not hang around for long. They went straight for the portal that would teleport them to World End’s River Region.

There were many people around the portal, each burning with strong resonant power. Quite a few of them were Dukes, and they all had the same goals.

Under Ox Biaobiao and Li Rouyun’s protection, Li Luo and friends headed straight to the portal. The world space around the area quaked a little and then they disappeared.

When they vanished from sight, they had not noticed that a pair of cold eyes was watching them from a tower in the city.

On that tall tower, a lady stood with her hands behind her back. Her eyes were sharp and cold, and she had a formidable air around her.

It was someone familiar. This was none other than the lady that Li Luo had been talking about earlier—Qin Lian.

“Ox Biaobiao. Tsk, it’s been a number of years. I destroyed his Duke Bergfrieds in the past; I can’t believe he actually managed to restore them. What a lucky guy,” Qin Lian commented coldly. Behind her were three people who radiated impressive amounts of energy.

“Hall Master Qin, it seems like our intel was right. When should we do it?” one of them asked with a grin.

“Wait for them to enter World End’s River Region first. Li Jingzhe will be unable to sense what happens there. Countless True Devils roam the area and it’s a very messy place; it’s only natural to get attacked or killed in the city. Even Dukes from the various Heavenly Emperor powers have fallen there,” Qin Lian replied.

“When we do it, we’ll light the Hidden Spiritual Incense to hide our identities. They won’t be able to trace the murders back to us. Even if Li Jingzhe is suspicious, there will be nothing he can do about it.”

Hearing this, the three people at the back nodded in agreement.

Qin Lian turned around and stared directly at the giant teleportation portal with her ice-cold eyes. Their mission had been approved by the head of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qing, Qin Jiujie.

After all, the risks were worth it. If they could get their hands on the Primordial Seed, they would surely become the strongest power in the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent. Other Heavenly Emperor powers would have to bow down to them. Her cold voice resounded throughout the room.

“Remember this: capture Li Luo alive.”
