Chapter 1313: Li Lingjing's Situation
Chapter 1313: Li Lingjing’s Situation
Within a pitch black hall, dusky mist flowed within and at the same time, innumerable whispers filled the space. The rustling echoed throughout the hall and if an ordinary Duke were to enter, they would very quickly be corrupted by the sheer density of the corruption that filled the area, losing their mind without a doubt.
At this point, the Spirit Eye Other King was standing at the center of the hall as he frowned whilst responding to the deep white flame. On the other side of it was a faceless head which gave off an unsettling aura.
“World End’s River Region? You’re finally taking action on the plan? The fact that Li Jingzhe has been able to reach the Quasi-Triple Crown stage is indeed impressive.” The Spirit Eye Other King lamented.
However after thinking about it briefly, he shook his head and continued tinkering with the things on hand. “The World End’s River Region is your responsibility and has nothing to do with me. My experiments have also reached the most critical step and I have no time to bother.”
Hearing Spirit Eye Other King’s rejection caused the Faceless Other King to coldly snort. “You don’t even want to obtain this contribution? Your damned old man, you’ve clearly been bedeviled by your research with those strange things.”
The Spirit Eye Other King’s expression changed as he retorted. “Bedeviled? Aren’t we even more terrifying than actual devils in the eyes of the people?”
The Faceless Other King then continued speaking. “I’ve also discovered a very interesting brat and it’s Li Jingzhe’s grandson. If you don’t come, when he falls into my hands, you might regret it!”
The Spirit Eye Other King remained nonchalant in the face of the Faceless Other King’s enticing words. In his eyes, the experiment at hand was of even more importance than that.
So if one had to talk about participating in this plan for contribution, much more even if the Faceless Other King were to perish in the World End’s River Region, he simply didn’t care at all.
“Stop wasting my time here. I’m very busy and have no time. Shoo.” The Spirit Eye Other King rejected him unceremoniously once again.
“You!” The Faceless Other King felt a little frustrated. It knew it had no means to move the Spirit Eye Other King and both of them were of a similar level. Thus it couldn’t order him to take action. Thus he was left with no other option but to coldly snort, directly terminating that connection as the deep white flame extinguished.
He had originally wanted to give the Spirit Eye Other King news of the Genesis Seed but due to his stubborn attitude, there was clearly no need to.
The hall immediately regained its sense of gloominess and silence.
The Spirit Eye Other King glanced in the location where the flame had dissipated before nonchalantly retracting his gaze. He then turned his body and entered the depths of the hall where a huge black pool could be found.
The pool was inky black and it flowed with great amounts of corruption as numerous blisters of water constantly formed atop the surface, where some ferocious and twisted faces could be seen within.
The Spirit Eye Other King stared at the middle of the pool where a giant ball of water could be found. It was connected to the pool and endless amounts of corruption surged into it.
The ball of water contained a curled up lithe figure.
It was none other than Li Lingjing.
However the current her had a much more different expression. The top half of her body was humanoid and where her legs were supposed to be, had been transformed into a scaly serpent’s tail. The tail continued to swish from time to time, enveloping the body. The tail seemed to radiate an intense gloominess and inauspicious air, giving one the chills upon seeing it.
Her snow white skin had azure tinted black snake scales on it and on her forehead grew a sharp horn engraved with a spiral pattern. Li Lingjing’s eyes were tightly shut as though she was lost in deep sleep. Her gorgeous features had become even more demonically enchanting, giving her an unsettling beauty.
Furthermore it seemed that the snake tail was not under her control. The scales would sometimes stand on end and twisted faces could be seen on it, seemingly attempting to break free.
The scales were as sharp as a knife’s edge and just a simple movement would cause injuries to Li Lingjing’s body.
Every time this happened, her expression would distort in pain as she remained in sleep.
As the Spirit Eye Other King saw this, he lightly spoke. “Keke, you’re truly crazy. Considering how puny you were, you dared to take the initiative to devour the All-Beings Devil King’s strand of will. However being able to hold on for so long also tells me that the Soul Eater True Devil i’ve created has infinite potential! So long as you can overcome this trial, you’ll become even more perfect. In future, you’ll become the perfect being!”
His gaze gradually turned frenetic and even drunken. Li Lingjing had brought him a massive surprise and all the other experimental bodies compared to her were all lacking. “You will thus be the living embodiment of my work and that the direction I’m taking is the correct one. That is the path to revert oneself to their origin! You can rest relaxed that although you’re insane, I greatly cherish this madness. Only with such frenzy can we pave the road ahead.” The Spirit Eye Other King continued to murmur to himself as he stretched out his withered palm. A ball of flesh flowing with black blood surfaced and it looked extremely strange. From time to time, numerous limbs would stretch out of it as if they were trying to escape.
It was filled with corruption and a piercing low voice transmitted from it.
“If you wish to compete against the All-Beings Devil King’s will, you cannot resort to ordinary means. I’ve thus fashioned an Other’s Blood Womb. This object is capable of corrupting even Dukes, destroying their minds. However it looks like you don’t have any other choice.”
The Spirit Eye Other King stretched his hand out and tossed the ball of flesh into the inky black pool. Upon contact, it immediately sublimated into countless black worms which tunneled towards the ball of water containing Li Lingjing.
The black worms then directly burrowed into the saturnine black tail and sounds of chewing began to sound out.
“Li Lingjing, you have to work harder. You are the culmination of all of my lifeblood. The next time you awaken, there will only be two possibilities. Either you will be assimilated by the All-Beings Devil King’s will and transformed into a puppet clone, forcing me to destroy you… or to completely devour the strand of will and become an even more perfect existence.” He continued to stare at the deeply asleep Li Lingjing before he smiled. “Did you also hear what was said just now? The person the Faceless Other King should be referring to should be the Li Luo that you know. He’s truly unlucky, having been targeted by Faceless. Li Jingzhe might be strong but we have made preparations for a long time in the World End’s River Region. He too will be left in a bad situation. The moment he dies, then Li Luo will definitely fall into the hands of Faceless and at that point of time, even wanting to die will be difficult.” He continued with his soliloquy for a while more before turning away and planning to leave.
It was just as he left when the slumbering Li Lingjing’s eyelids seemed to twitch. A single strand of her hair fell off and dropped into the inky black pool.
It began to move on its own, seemingly like a tiny snake, fusing into the darkness before vanishing.
