Chapter 1317: Zhang Cuicheng
Chapter 1317: Zhang Cuicheng
The Golden Dragon Bank’s group’s appearance caused Li Foluo and the rest to relax a little. They had always been neutral and the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li had always maintained good relationships with them.
However the tall male with a black metal staff strapped onto his back continued moving forward with incredible momentum, right towards Li Luo. This action caused Li Foluo to frown. The man’s actions seem to imply that he didn’t come here with kind intentions.
Li Foluo had seen information on Zhang Cuicheng. He was the most decorated and talented elite amongst the Zhang Family in Golden Dragon Mountain, being one of the Three Families which held the most power within.
The Zhang Family was descended from Heavenly Emperor Zhang and was a peak existence who was renowned in the entire world.
Surnamed Zhang, his name was Daxian. His name which literally meant “Grand Immortal” was an impressive one. At the same time it also amazed an era and many legends were left in his wake.
What was most well known was the fact that during a previous round of the Origin Reversion War, he had single handedly suppressed seven Devil Kings, each equivalent in power to a Triple Crowned King. It thus led to the expression. “Hear the Immortal’s descent, bury the seven kings beneath the moon.” Thus those who belonged to the Zhang Family held a pivotal position within the Golden Dragon Mountain.
If Zhang Cuicheng truly wished to attack Li Luo, this newfound enmity would definitely lead to trouble.
Although Li Foluo might have felt this way, he planned to stand between them to block Zhang Cuicheng. After all he was only an upper second-grade Duke. The other party might be talented and it was said he planned to obtain a Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried for his third Duke Bergfried.
Perhaps it was because of this declaration of wild ambition that it signified how confident he was.
Just as Li Foluo took a step forward, Li Luo then stretched his hand out to stop him. The other party was looking for him and his obstruction would not be of any help here. After all, the opponent’s lineup was also incredibly strong and there were many experts who were no weaker than Li Foluo.
Li Luo calmly watched Zhang Cuicheng who had made his way before him. The other party’s facial expressions were resolute but his eyes seemed to drift from being focused to unfocused from time to time, giving one the feeling that he was a little slow of mind.
However he could sense an incredibly dangerous aura from him.
This was the strongest second-grade Duke he had ever met. “Are you Li Luo?” Zhang Cuicheng’s gaze focused upon Li Luo as he asked with a deep voice.
Li Luo nodded his head.
“Do you know Lu Qing’er?” Zhang Cuicheng went straight to the punch without holding back.
“We are old and close friends. I’d naturally recognize her.” Li Luo indifferently replied.
Could it truly be the fact that he had liked Lu Qing’er and knew that the two of them had a good relationship that he’d run over here to cause him trouble? Although it was slightly despicable, it was still within expectations. Youths were hot blooded and enjoyed such childish challenges. Zhang Cuicheng then fell silent before answering. “If you ever encounter trouble within the World End’s River Treasure Domain, I’ll help you out once.”
“Huh?” Li Luo and even Li Foluo was taken aback by this. They had not expected the churlish and intimidating Zhang Cuicheng would have such a strange change in opinion.
Li Luo’s mind was full of suspicion as he asked. “Why?”
“I’ve been entrusted by her.”
“Qing’er?” This answer made no sense. Furthermore Li Luo only had a good relationship with Lu Qing’er within Golden Dragon Mountain so why would anyone travel such a long distance just to help him out?
The most surprising fact was that Zhang Cuicheng wasn’t planning to butt heads with him over Lu Qing’er. Instead, he had been entrusted by her to help him out?
Zhang Cuicheng paused after seeing Li Luo’s confused expression. “I owe her a favor.”
Li Luo was left speechless. It seemed that Zhang Cuicheng had no intention of becoming enemies with him and he felt this entire situation to be a little mind boggling. Either way this was a good thing. One less troublesome opponent meant he could rest a little easier.
“Thank you for your kind intentions. We can talk about this when it comes to it.” Li Luo respectfully clasped his hands together with a smile on his face. Lu Qing’er’s request for Zhang Cuicheng to help him demonstrated her kind intentions. But he felt that this was a waste of the favors owed to her. After all, he didn’t know what sort of situation she was in at the moment and they might have been better used by her.
Although Zhang Cuicheng possessed decent strength, if he was faced with a situation he couldn’t deal with, Zhang Cuicheng wouldn’t be of much help either.
Additionally he had already made plans that if Zhang Cuicheng came looking for trouble, he would use this opportunity to borrow the Heavenly Wolf’s power to directly waste him.
Now that things had come to this, there was clearly no need to.
Zhang Cuicheng didn’t react to Li Luo’s rejection. Either way he had already expressed his point and how Li Luo chose to act would be his own problem then.
Immediately after, his gaze turned towards Jiang Qing’e as it seemed to heat up. However this was not in the sense that he was attracted to her but filled with intent to battle. “Greetings Maiden Jiang. I suppose you’re the one with the Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried? If the opportunity arises, I would like to try for myself just how special you are.”
Jiang Qing’e had both stunning looks and an otherworldly temperament. Yet to Zhang Cuicheng, the only thing that could move his heart was the Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried.
Jiang Qing’e glanced at him briefly. “You’re not my opponent.”
Li Luo praised her in his heart. The plump white swan was truly tyrannical. As a first-grade Duke, she directly treated Zhang Cuicheng like air. One had to know that the latter similarly looked down upon his peers and had the ability to beat opponents of a higher stage.
“You won’t know till you try.” Zhang Cuicheng was not offended by her words, instead becoming even more eager to try.
The corner of Li Luo’s lips raised slightly into a smirk. Just why did he have this nagging feeling that this fellow was actually here for Jiang Qing’e and not him?
Looking at his personality, he was someone who craved battle. The stronger the opponent, the better. Considering Jiang Qing’e had a Ten-Pillar Duke Bergfried, she was an opponent that was hard to find.
As a result, since Li Luo was only in the Greater Heavenly Resonance stage, he might not have even been treated as an opponent.
“Ah, Zhang Cuicheng, is your mind in the right place? Weren’t you here to find trouble with Li Luo?” At this point Lu Shuanglu strode forward and asked in utter surprise.
She had originally prepared herself to witness a battle between nemeses but in the end, Zhang Cuicheng had treated Li Luo civilly and instead challenged Jiang Qing’e instead.
Zhang Cuicheng frowned. “When did I ever say I was going to find trouble for him?”
Lu Shuanglu had an incredulous look on her face. “Didn’t you say you wanted to take a look at that man who moved Sister Qing’er’s heart?”
“I took a look at him.” Zhang Cuicheng glanced at Li Luo. Lu Shuanglu felt a headache coming. It seemed he really did turn up for just a look. He was truly a rare and special individual.
She then turned and went back towards the Golden Dragon Mountain’s squad.
In the end she sighed deeply twice and quashed the feelings in her heart as she coldly responded. “Scram back here. The squad belongs to me and don’t cause a scene before others.”
After being berated by Lu Shuanglu, Zhang Cuicheng gave a nonchalant expression. He forced himself to look away from Jiang Qing’e unwillingly. He really wanted to have a fight but it looked like now wasn’t the right time. As a result, he could only turn back and return to the squad.
Li Luo couldn’t help but to smirk upon seeing Lu Shuanglu’s expression. She had a strange personality indeed. She had lent him a hand once and yet also hoped that Zhang Cuicheng would give him a beating.
Lu Shuanglu rolled her eyes in response as she glanced at the Other Dominion ahead of them. “Do you want to go together?”
Li Luo then hurriedly shook his head. “It’s just a small Other Dominion. It’s not worth joining hands for this. Perhaps next time.”
This might have been a small Other Dominion in other’s eyes but if they relied upon Li Hongyou’s intuition, there should be a middle-grade Foundational Spirit Treasure within which would be a considerable prize. How would they be willing to share it with the Golden Dragon Bank? When faced with Li Luo’s rejection, Lu Shuanglu didn’t mind it either. After all it was simply a small Other Dominion and there wouldn’t likely be anything precious, perhaps just a few low-grade Foundational Spirit Treasures. She was so rich she wouldn’t even do both at times.
“Alright, if you obtain a few middle or upper-grade Foundational Spirit Treasures that don’t suit you, you can sell it to us. I’ll buy it at a high price. If you want to exchange for something, we can help you with that too.” Lu Shuanglu then changed the subject immediately.
Li Luo thought about it before smiling and asking. “What about quasi ninth-grade spirit liquids and purifying lights?”
He had prepared a single bottle for himself but that was it. It wasn’t enough to evolve his Woodearth resonance. That said the Heavenly Dragon Treasury only had a single bottle and wanting to procure more would take time.
“Quasi ninth-grade spirit liquids and purifying lights?” Lu Shuanglu mumbled before smiling gaily at him. “You have a far sighted view of things. Other powers wouldn’t be able to satisfy you at all. However our Golden Dragon Bank has a foundation beyond your most grandest imaginations.”
She lightly waved her hand and a middle aged man walked up. He then took out a jade case sealed with a talisman. Its surface was engraved with countless runes.
As she opened the jade case, there were two glazed jade bottles that appeared. Within each bottle was a mysterious substance that thrummed with life force, constantly shifting and demonstrating a wondrous scene.
These were both quasi ninth-grade spirit liquids and purifying lights!
Li Luo knew it from a glance. As expected of the Golden Dragon Bank, just a casual movement and two bottles had appeared before him. However, considering that they were in the Treasure Domain, they would be used to trade for Foundational Spirit Treasures. Thus it was expected that they would bring with them precious treasures.
This also meant that Lu Shuanglu probably also brought along humongous amounts of cultivation resources and skygold.
They were truly a walking house filled with treasures.
At the same time they didn’t fear that others would steal from them. “What’s the price?” Li Luo asked.
Lu Shuanglu stroked her snow white chin lightly as she stretched out two fingers.
“Two upper-grade Foundational Spirit Treasures for one bottle of quasi ninth-grade spirit liquids and purifying lights.”
Li Luo’s jaw dropped at the preposterous price.
Lu Shuanglu was indeed a black hearted maggot!
