Chapter 2027: Battling Four Peak Sovereigns

Chapter 2027: Battling Four Peak Sovereigns

Grey appeared in an abandoned building in the forest. Looking around, a thoughtful expression appeared on his face. At the moment, he had two choices, either fight it out with these people, or try to escape. He would have chosen the option of escaping; sadly, he did not have enough time.

Before leaving, he promised Silvan he would return within an hour. The speed of these people were just too much for him to be able to throw them off within a short time. Had he prepared teleportation arrays beforehand, he would not have had this problem.

Sighing, he gave up on escaping and decided to fight it out. The fight would only serve as a means to deter these people. If they see they had no way for them to defeat him, and that he was a threat to them, they would most likely give up on the thought of escaping.

While he was thinking of a way to show immense power to scare these people off, they appeared one by one. The man with gray hair was the first to appear, before three others.

They all had a cold expression on their faces, and one of them had an almost fiery red face from anger.

Seeing Grey floating mid-air, one of them chuckled and spoke.

Grey could not understand what he saw saying, luckily, Void could.

’He’s saying even if you return the sacred treasure now, they will still kill you for trespassing and stealing.’

Grey already knew these people would not let him off, that was the reason he stopped running in the first place. If not for the outrageous speed of these people, and that he was short on time, he would have never stopped to fight them. However, all he needed to do was show domineering strength, enough to deter them from coming after him.

Without a word, he launched straight at the man with gray hair who seemed to be the leader.

They did not expect Grey to attack so suddenly, nevertheless, they were all seasoned fighters. Even though they were caught unaware, they still reacted accordingly.

The leader of the group was the first to make a move. He was the one Grey was coming after, so he naturally had to protect himself.

He could sense Grey’s aura, and knowing that he was stronger, he did not think too much of it. Causally making a move, he tried to block Grey’s frontal attack.

It was only when the attack hit his own did he realize that something was wrong – this person’s strength did not coincide with his cultivation level at all!

Boom!

The gray-haired man was sent flying by Grey’s attack.

The sight left the other three who were preparing to subdue Grey mouth wide open. They originally planned to subdue Grey once the gray-haired man dealt with him, before torturing him. Never in their wildest dreams would they imagine such an outcome.

The only lady among the three quickly flew over to check on the gray-haired man in concern.

Grey was also forced back by the shockwave of the attack, but he was able to quickly stabilize himself. He watched the gray-haired man with a serious expression. Wasting no time, he made another move. He did not have the luxury of time to watch them checking on each other.

Seeing Grey make another move, the man who said they would kill Grey even if he returned the sacred treasure, attacked ruthlessly. He saw the outcome of the gray-haired man. Knowing that he did not need to hold back against this thief, he used his full strength.

Grey was prepared for this, so he reacted accordingly. He knew he could not evade the attack, due to its speed. So he quickly used the wind element to parry the attack. Doing this did not leave him unscathed, as the force of the attack rocked his innards.

After parrying the attack, he only stopped for a short second before continuing forward. A three colored fusion orb appeared on his palm as he sent it forward.

The power hidden inside the fusion orb made the scalps of the man tingle. Now he understood why this thief was able to send the gray-haired man flying after just one exchange.

The man did not dare to block the attack, moving to the side to dodge the attack. His eyes were as wide as it could be as he stared at Grey in shock. He was a Peak Sovereign, and he could sense from Grey’s aura that he was stronger than the latter. He could not understand how someone in the Eighth stage could wield such immense strength.

The last person to make a move was clothed in white, when he saw the attack, he knew their opponent was not a pushover. He quickly rushed to the aid of his companion.

Grey, seeing that two of them were trying to join force, did not dilly dally. Taking in a deep breath, he spat out a sea of blue flames, trying to envelope them with it.

The white-clothed man waved his hand, and a sea of lightning blocked the incoming flames.

The man, who faced Grey’s fusion orb, attacked at this moment. A small bolt of lightning shot past both the sea of lightning and flames.

Grey did not notice the lightning on time, and it was only when it was just about to hit him did he sense it. Not panicking, his body glowed with a brownish light. He used his earth element at this moment, reinforcing his physical defense.

When he was struck by the lightning, he felt like he was just hit by a mountain. His figure wavered mid-air as he almost lost his footing. The white-clothed man made a move at this point.

Grey, still shaken by the previous attack, was forced to block the incoming attack. Faced with two Lightning Elementalists whose attacks were lethal, he knew not to take any chances. His figure flickered incessantly, moving from one place to the other. The duo’s attacks did not give him the chance to even counterattack. Just when he thought things could not get any worse, the gray-haired man and the Lady joined the fight as well.
