After Becoming the Hero’s Ex-fiancée

Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Yuqing Sect (1)

“No solution.”

“How can there be no solution?”

As a ripple of confusion went through the crowd, Zheng Wan tilted her head to look at the wheel that had dimmed after lighting up. She couldn’t understand it at all. She was a real live person, standing there in the flesh—good was good, bad was bad, how could there be no solution.

Passing his prayer beads through his fingers, Fu Sheng Zhenjun let out an “Eh?”. Echoing him was a group from Danxin Sect, who had just strode in with gusto. They were all wearing indigo robes of their sect; compared to the orderly Guixu Sect, they seemed much more at ease.

The one leading them, a round-faced, round-eyed cultivator whose broad heart resulted in his plump shape chortled.

“No solution? Well, that’s curious.”

Dozens of people from the Beimian Sect had also landed. They were dressed in light blue wide robes emblazoned with the seven stars of the Big Dipper. They were headed by a female cultivator wearing a tall headdress and a broad sash belt.

“Ming Yu Daojun, come, take a look. Why is it ‘no solution’?”

The plump cultivator beckoned to the female cultivator. When Zheng Wan heard the name, she turned her head automatically to look.

It was a dashing female cultivator. Her eyebrows were dense and dark, and her eyes were long and narrow, tilted slightly upwards. Even when not smiling, she exuded a valiant and high-spirited aura. At first glance, she truly left one with a favourable impression.

Zheng Wan had an extremely deep impression of this Ming Yu Daojun. If Liu Yi was just a minion that was brought to the Upper Realms who had little part to play in the dream, this Ming Yu Daojun was a vigorous burst of rich colours.

She was the future sect leader of the Beimian Sect. Extremely gifted since childhood, she was accomplished in mystical arts, and had managed to deduce the true teachings of Jing Su Xianjun.  Most importantly——

This Ming Yu Daojun and Cui Wang were sworn friends. The two had developed a life-long friendship while exchanging ideas on the Ways in their sects.

However, most likely because of the nature of women, what Zheng Wan remembered more than anything else was that Ming Yu Daojun had always had feelings for Cui Wang. It was just that she was discreet about her feelings, and never spoke of it, which was why Cui Wang never knew.

“No solution?” Ming Yu Daojun laughed. “This I have to see.”

“Little cultivator, raise your head, let me take a look.”

Zheng Wan felt a force that was gentle, yet would not tolerate being resisted, lift her head by her chin. At some point unbeknownst to her, Ming Yu Daojun was already in front of her, twirling a turtle oracle shell in her left hand, while her right hand made calculations.

She let out another “Eh?”.

“The image of a broken life?”

Right at this moment, a surge of vital energy like needles attempted to penetrate Zheng Wan’s body through her fingertips. She instinctively began to resist; Granny Jin had said that cultivators could not explore another’s cultivation Qi without permission.

Who would’ve thought, this vital energy was like a sea of stars, almost pouring in at one go. Just then, Cui Wang moved.

He raised his hand lightly and with a flick, sent the vital energy that had entered Zheng Wan’s body back.

“Ming Yu, you’ve gone overboard.”

Ming Yu Daojun laughed again.

“Li Wei, do you feel bad for this little beauty?”

At Cui Wang’s motionless expression, she asked again, “Little cultivator, let me ask you, are you an enlightened person? Able to foresee the future and rewrite your destiny? If so, this Nine Revolutions Wheel cannot assess you indeed.”

The whole square was in an uproar.

There were indeed enlightened people, but there were only three in all the Heavenly Realms who could actually go against the Heavens and rewrite their destinies. One exists in legends—Zi Wei Xingjun, who had already disappeared; one had passed on; and one, was Beimian Sect’s current grand elder, Jing Su Xianjun.

“Yes.”

Zheng Wan decided to hate this Ming Yu, mostly because she looked at her as if she was a rare object—one that, no matter how rare, was also a dead object.

“Then, would you like to join my Beimian Sect?”

Ming Yu Daojun flashed a kind smile at her. “You’ll enter my Shenji First Peak directly and be my personal core disciple.”

There was another fit of commotion in the square.

This was a tremendous opportunity that meant skipping over the first, second and final rounds of assessment, in addition to being a major sect’s core disciple——who wouldn’t want that?

Who would’ve thought, the subject at the centre of the discussion, Zhen Wan, raised her head and declined.

“Many thanks to the Daojun for your kindness and favour, but I don’t.”

“Why?”

Ming Yu was taken aback. “The mystical arts is the most suitable choice for an enlightened person.”
