Chapter 196: Clearing the West, South, and East! (Grand finale Part-a)

[Congratulations! You’ve completed one of the few ongoing trials.]

[You’ve received the spatial coordination of the World of Sword and Magic!]

The document carrying the coordination on it appeared in his subspace just like always. With this in his hands, he now only needed a teleporter! Then going to a foreign planet would no longer be a pipe dream. Fulfilling his childhood dream was in his hand’s reach. Elliot’s eyes warmed up so much that they shed tears of joy. Thankfully, no one was looking at him at the moment, or he would’ve been embarrassed. He hurriedly wiped them away, saving himself from conspicuous gazes.

“We’re done restoring our magic energy.”

Lucy, Oliver, and Arthur were brimming with strength. They were now no longer fools that needed Elliot’s help to wipe their cracks but full-fledged magicians at the peak of the channel opening stage, able to crush boulders and smash trees.

“Giddy up!”

“Then, let’s go,” Elliot said as he jumped on top of Grace, so did Lucy, both of them standing on one of her heads. On the other hand, the two magic knights sat uncomfortably on the back of the ferocious wolves.

“Giddy up!” Elliot said, patting Grace’s head. Honestly, Grace would’ve thrown him away if he was someone else. She wasn’t a horse, and his words undoubtedly came off as offensive. She was a serpent carrying the bloodline of the flood dragon. However, because she had cultivated good feelings for him and he was also patting her head lovingly, she let him go with a warning. Elliot vehemently apologized, saying that it was a slip of the tongue, that he was too excited, that he won’t ever say that again, that she would never hear him say that again.

Grace accepted his heartfelt apology, and she also felt a bit embarrassed about how her master was apologizing to her. Sadly, scales covered her face and body, or else she would’ve turned red in different spots, making her look enchanting.

Lucy silently looked from the sides. Her eyes showed a thoughtful look. She was able to understand that Elliot had intentionally teased Grace to attract her intention. ‘Was he romantically interested in her, a beast? Or was he just being playful?’

Grace was oblivious to Elliot’s intentions. He, on the other hand, was unable to understand why he was trying to garner her attention. She was already a person working under him, but he was not satisfied with that. He wanted a deeper relationship with her. However, what was deeper than a lord and his knight or a master and his slave? It was love, a man and his wife! Was that what he wanted?!

Was that why he was unable to stop himself from teasing her?

After teasing her once, Elliot intentionally teased her dozens of times. Sometimes she laughed, and sometimes she gaped, but a few times she frowned, feeling offended. Whenever her expression scrunched up, she reprimanded him like a wife giving her husband a piece of her mind. And each time that happened, Elliot inwardly giggled while outwardly, he acted as he was oblivious to the fact that his words would offend her and apologized, promising her many things.

It only took them a few minutes to pass the valley and enter the central zone. Elliot looked around and saw that he had entered an entirely different place. Snow was covering the land, and mist surrounded the air. It was strong enough to blind one’s eyes, making it impossible to look beyond three meters. Even the sky was different than the nightmare zone, and it was as if a painter had used white paint to draw it out in the world. He inferred that it should be impossible for people in different regions to know about what’s happening in another zone. So, there was a 100% chance that the serpentine devils in other zones hadn’t seen the barrier wall crumbling in the nightmare zone!

The beasts in this place were plenty, but none were as strong as Grace! Moreover, they were moving in large numbers, large enough to deter the tigers of the mountain and cause the snakes to move away from their dens, opening up ways from them.

They didn’t head deeper into the central zone and only moved around the outskirts to get to the place which connected it with the West. There, the monkeys of the serpent were chilling, waiting for a group of magicians to come so that they would hunt them down. However, what came was an army of beasts, far powerful than themselves! By the time they noticed their presence, it was already too late!

They even failed to arm themselves before the army of beasts launched an attack on them. Many attacks rained down on them, from steel-feather claws to lighting strikes and spiritual attacks shaped like claws.

“Gah!”

Hundreds of serpentine devils had their flesh ripped apart, and they fell to the ground as blood surged out of their flesh, painting the landscape red. The cries of death intensified as the army of beasts bullied the psychos. In a matter of minutes, a thousand serpentine devils lost their life and a pool of blood formed in the landscape. Maybe it was because they were unprepared to fight an army more than ten times their size, causing them to fall into panic, or maybe it was because their leader failed to direct them.

After killing them, Elliot shattered the crystal and looted whatever was on their body as if he was a bandit’s descendant. He had no way of accessing the space in their bone bracelet, but Arthur happily hacked into other spatial devices after he promised him a handsome sum of money.

Arthur opened their subspaces for Elliot while they were traveling towards the southern zone. He ended up gaining whatever was inside. He paid a small price to Arthur for his help. Now, this was far better than utilizing the help of the money-hungry officials in the mission hall!
