[The Relica’s Heirloom (Unique)
Rating: 4.5-Stars
Crafting related Skills Ratings +1
Crafting related Skill Experience +20%
Gives the temporary Skills, Butchering 4.5-Star, Handling 4.5-Star
Unique Effect -> Harvester’s Delight
When harvesting resources, sometimes, the wield may be larger than expected and its quality higher than previously observed.
Requirements: Constitution: 40; Dexterity: 75; Mental Power: 25; Reflexes: 40
Description:
An old and unimpressive knife that seems to be made out of simple steel together with a white handle carved from the bone of an unknown, but likely unimpressive creature.
Its edges are chipped and its design is lackluster, whoever made it focused solely on practicality over appearance despite the clear space for some cosmetic changes.
Yet, despite all that, the knife was surely very well made, resisting the passing of time with impressive resilience, even though its golden days are well beyond it.
Those many years of use seemed to have rubbed themselves on it though, as even now, the knife shines with a dark gleam, as if itching to be plunged into bone again.
Be careful, else that bone may as well be yours.
]
“…”
Dale inspected the knife from top to bottom, but he couldn’t help but agree with what he just read.
Like the description, the knife looked extremely boring with little to no unique features.
He only saw one redeeming factor, at the very base of its handle, two symbols could be seen, one that looked like an insignia of some sort, extremely faded and old, and what looked like the carving of an initial, likely belonging to its original maker.
‘I.I, what an odd name.’ Dale thought as he placed the knife back on his inventory as he walked through an alley
‘As of now, the knife is pretty useless, but if it can be repaired… Then it’s an invaluable tool to any craftsmen, even if they don’t work with knives…’
‘In fact, it may be even better for them, as if you’re a smith, the moment you get this knife, you get Skills related to a completely different profession plus the Skill Rating and Experience boost.’
‘I’m actually tempted by it, and I’m not a craftsman, just having this to process material in the wild is a boon for me, as I have realized by now that, if I spend too much time in a Dungeon or a deep zone, I may be unable to bring back all of the loot with me.’
With that in mind, Dale continued, inspecting some of the items he received from his previous Quests.
[White Comet’s Tail (Half-Fable)
Type: Material
Description:
The Karkavan believe every night post the birth of a Legend, a white comet streaks across the skies to celebrate the birth of a new Tale.
The brighter it is, the more honorable the Tale.
They believe the Comet represents the Spirit of the Ancient Warriors that fell in battle, unable to prove themselves and achieve their full potential.
So by shining across the skies, those that already fell cultivate the living for their efforts so they may continue striving amidst the thorny road ahead of them.
This shard, however, goes against their beliefs as never before did the comet cast away part of itself into the earth.
What could this signify? Would this be the Omen of a Legend like none before?…
Or the calm before the most violent of storms?
]
“…”
‘A material huh… Like the red crystal from before?’
‘The difference is that while I was unable to inspect the shard, this time I can see what this one’s all about.’
‘And from the looks of it, this may be a Quest item relating to the Karkavan, especially since this was given to me as a reward from a Quest related to them.’
‘Though for now, it seems I won’t be able to talk with them anytime soon, I’ll have to leave that for after I’m done with Babylon, maybe even after my trip to South America.’
‘This could very well lead me to a Unique Questline belonging to the Karkavan that could lead to some of the mysteries surrounding them, such as their promise with the Elves and their very existence.’
‘It’s definitely a mystery I’m interested in pursuing, but not something I have the time to do given everything surrounding me.’
‘If I ever see myself in the forest again, I’ll definitely seek some answers.’
‘Who knows, maybe I won’t even need to go after them.’
Two down, many more to go.
[The Flame of Prometheus 0-Star]
[Manifest a powerful flame of unnatural strength that originates deep within oneself, deeper than anything else]
“… And?…”
‘Is this all? Of course this is all… It has to be mysterious, given it’s the reward for Tina’s Quest.’ Dale thought with a frown as he read the Skill’s description
‘Sigh… Getting disappointed won’t lead me anywhere.’
‘So, a powerful flame… Deep within oneself, more so than anything else huh…’
‘Prime Force is often compared to a fire, but that’s just that, a comparison.’
‘This says that there is a literal fire within one’s body… Where it would originate from is the question.’
‘Deeper than anything else… Would that include the Soul?’
‘My Class does meddle with the Soul, albeit I have yet to do anything conclusive about that…’
“In fact… I believe that may be why it’s stuck at 4.9%.”
‘I’ll have to study more and find out what that could be… Shit.’
‘Why do I have so much to do?!’
Touching his head with a pained expression, Dale continued:
[Southern Imperial Sigil
Type: Miscellaneous
Description:
One of the Original Sigils issued by the Royal Family to the Commanders of the Southern Corps whenever they rose to the position, legitimized their command over it.
Normally, the name of the Emperor and the Commander would both be carved onto the Sigil as one of the many procedures to avoid counterfeits, although through time, many raised the question of who would dare do so in the first place?
Strangely enough, however, this Sigil is blank.
]
‘The reward for the Forest Hierarchy Quest… I would say it’s fitting.’
‘For saving the forest and the descendants of the Survivors of the Corps, what else but proof that I’m meant to lead them?’
‘Though… I don’t think I’m fit for the role, I can’t see myself leading an army, I’ll treat this as the physical manifestation of my right to pursue these Questlines.’
‘If I ever find myself with someone trying to get in my way, this Sigil may come in clutch when that time comes.’
‘I can think of some uses for this even…’
With a smirk, Dale read his last Quest reward:
[Memory Shard
Type: Consumable
Description:
An extremely intricate material of Arcane origins, shaped into a container to store something most precious… Memories.
Shatter its casing to glimpse into the past, if even for a moment.
]
“This…”
As he read through the description of his last item, Dale stopped walking due to surprise and shock.
‘This is the reward for Testros’ Quest, so this… Memory shard likely shows something from his past.’
‘But in the first place, why is this the reward?’
‘Or better put… Who made this?’ Dale thought as his expression turned dark
He looked at the sky, but it was empty… Maybe that was for the best.
“Shatter it…”
‘If this works like the Skill I used half an hour ago, then I should leave this for later, maybe before logging off.’
‘I don’t know how long this “Glimpse of the past” will last, so it would be for the best that I did it in a safe place like my room.’
‘Same goes for my Skill.’
Nodding to himself, pleased with his inspection, Dale crossed the busy street in front of him and entered another alley, the last one before Yumi’s home.
He ignored anyone on his way, which was easy given there were only players all around.
All of the Villagers were still in their homes while the refugees were all clustered somewhere in the North close to the buried buildings. 𝓃𝐎𝐕𝓮𝓵𝒩𝞮xt.𝓬𝑂𝕞
Since they didn’t have a home of their own, until a new one for them was dug from the sand, they would live in the decading houses between the buried zone and the area where Resko’s current inhabitants live.
And to consider all of that was only a small section of Resko… The city was truly massive, wasn’t it?
‘This should be all from my Skills, only one thing left then and I can put this Expedition behind me, at least regarding my rewards…’
‘The items I got from defeating the Boss monsters with the Level 50 privilege and the items I exchanged with the Loot Coins, the unique items of the Red Wyvern.’
‘There’s quite some good stuff in there, the Wyvern was a pretty potent monster…’
‘It’s actually rather regretfully that I was unable to use the privilege on the Devil, I wonder what kind of items would’ve appeared, including what its “most valuable drop” is.’
“Either way, I won’t be using them as Dale, the Villager, I think I know exactly who will be wearing that.”
‘That’s a job for Dale, the Player!’
