Chapter 2042
Chapter 2042
“If the xenofiend is dead, can the Soulfiend bring you back?” Tianming asked.
“It isn’t sure. I think we’re completely lost. But the Soulfiend says that you shouldn’t come in—this isn’t somewhere you can reach with the xenomemory rope. The Xenoworld has changed to the point that you shouldn’t come,” Qingyu said. As she spoke, her caelum body within the wondersky realm fluctuated even more. It looked like she was turning into liquid.
“Big Brother, I think we’re in some kind of colorful, stormy ocean. There’s weird noises everywhere. Every single drop of water feels like an eye.” Based on her expression, it seemed like it was a terrifying place indeed. “But don’t worry. Once Feng wakes up, he’ll bring us back. Remember, don’t come! That’s what the Soulfiend said!” She repeated that urgently as if she couldn’t hear him speak. Eventually, the waves around her body grew more intense, to the point that she seemed to be flattened. “Wait, the xenofiend is dead! We stopped! We’re no longer plunging into the abyss! And Big Brother… I think Sixth is hatching! This….”
Tianming felt rather confused. “It’s an egg within my lifebound space, so it’s definitely connected to me symbiotically. How could it hatch while I’m not there? What’ll happen to symbiotic cultivation? I won’t be able to transfer my cultivation to it when it hatches, will it still be my lifebound beast?” Perhaps only Li Muyang could answer that question, or maybe not even he knew of such mysteries.
“This lifebound beast is far too terrifying…. It’s like a sea of white. I think it isn’t hurting us, though it’s not talking to us either. I don’t know where it’s taking us.” By then, her caelum was stretched so much that it looked like a one-dimensional line. Her face was stretched out flat across tens of meters. “Don’t worry about us! We’ll make it back, definitely! Tell dad that I’ll miss him. We’ll come back safe.”
After saying that, the surface of the lake exploded into colorful rain that fell on the white, snowy ground. The raindrops immediately vanished upon contact with the ground, leaving Tianming alone in the empty landscape once more.
“What….” He was fraught with confusion over Qingyu and Feng’s situation, as well as the mystery of the Xenoworld. That place wasn’t somewhere he could freely travel through. Not to mention, his Primordial Chaos Beast had also hatched! He knew how terrifying they were from his dream visions. They consumed entire stars and all the lifeforms that lived upon them as food, something that would shatter the worldview of most people. The beasts up to now had been relatively normal, so he didn’t have to worry about them. He was confident that they would be part of his happy family no matter their personalities or quirks and considered them his relatives, yet he didn’t think Sixth would have so much individuality.
“Is it in too much of a rush? Or is there something else?” There was no way for Tianming to communicate with it. As far as he was aware, he had never neglected its feelings. There wasn’t a pressing need for it to hatch, unlike Yin Chen before it. Yet even then, it had simply left Tianming and hatched itself, which came as quite a wake-up call for him. Qingyu did say that it had already hatched and looked something like a white sea, but Tianming didn’t feel a single trace of it at all. It was as if it was lost and alone in its own world.
“I wonder if we can still bond if we meet….” That was no doubt the most worrying matter. “If it can’t, I wonder how powerful a Primordial Chaos Beast would be if it grew up as a wildbeast.” That wasn’t just empty speculation, but could actually happen.
“Just dump… it already! That disgusting… thing should… be gone!” Yin Chen angrily said. Was it behaving like that out of instinct, or did it really see Sixth as some kind of natural foe?
The known universe only had penta-beastmasters at the top, so Tianming had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of his sixth lifebound beast. He had been waiting for Lingfeng to wake up so that he could enter the Xenoworld to hatch it, yet those plans had all flown out the window now.
“Forget it!” Qingyu wouldn’t be showing up in the near future, and Tianming still had a few unused Violetglorian heavenly locus formations with him. He tasked Weisheng Moran to wait in Soulburn Hall so that he could be informed whenever Xiaoxiao or Qingyu showed up there. He still had to deal with Wudi and his other lifebound beasts. He still didn’t know what kinds of dangers Qingyu, Lingfeng, and Sixth were facing.
“Calm down and don’t overthink it. Sixth is family. One day, it’ll return to us, and this old bird here will give it a good upbringing. Leave it to me,” Ying Huo said as it patted Tianming’s shoulder.
“That’s right! I’ll also sacrifice some of my nap time to take care of our new little sister,” Meow Meow said.
“Little sister? I want a little brother! You don’t know for sure! I don’t like little sisters!” Lan Huang said.
“What did you say?!” Xian Xian snapped.
“Don’t get mad. In my heart, you’ll always be a little brother,” Lan Huang naively said.
“You fool!” That only enraged Xian Xian more.
“Disgusting disgusting!” Yin Chen kept on muttering. They were Primordial Chaos Beasts, at the end of the day, and were only temporarily sealed.
“Looks like becoming a good beastmaster is still a long way away. What did you get me into, Dad….” Tianming wasn’t really feeling down, he had only just realized how difficult his task truly was. “I haven’t named you properly yet, Sixth, and you’re already gone. You do have some spunk. But one day, I’ll have you back with me.”
Either way, the egg had been birthed inside his lifebound space. Even though it had hatched by itself, it wouldn’t be able to return to the form it had in the dreamscape.
Tianming wouldn’t let this setback hit him too hard. He left the heavenly locus formation and told Wudi everything Qingyu had said.
Wudi listened and could only sigh. The Ninedragon Imperial Tomb had come to a stop and he was looking at the scenery ahead. “Let it be. We all have our own paths to tread. She’s chosen Feng, so let her stay by his side to the very end. Those two are quite resilient, so they’ll be fine. As a father, I should be more willing to let things go.” He was able to keep a rather decent attitude about it.
“Let’s trust them, then.” There was no other way to go about it. The Soulfiend had said that Tianming wouldn’t be able to reach that location, and even if he did, there was nothing he could do there. The Xenoworld wasn’t a place he could just enter, so all he could do was trust them. Qingyu and Lingfeng wouldn’t fall so easily.
Tianming returned to Soulburn Hall and waited for Xiaoxiao and Qingyu with Weisheng Moran. What he didn’t expect was that Ying Huo would ask him to leave right after he arrived. “What’s the big deal?”
“Your next lifebound beast is here,” Ying Huo mysteriously said.
“Is it back?”
“No,” Ying Huo snarked. “Given Sixth’s temper, it must be male. The next one, however, is a soft girl.”
“Huh?” Tianming noticed that among the four remaining Primordial Chaos Beast eggs in his lifebound space, one of them was quickly cracking apart. He took the egg out. It was small and pink, looking to be the purest and cleanest of all the eggs. Xian Xian loved that one in particular and tried to incubate it, and it finally had some kind of reaction. The moment it reached the outside world, its shell cracked even more, a sign that it had achieved the required hatching conditions. All it needed now was enough energy.

“How cute!” Xian Xian’s spiritform looked at the pink egg that swayed around in Tianming’s hand like a young maiden. It even skipped about and jumped into his embrace, snuggling against his chest. Everything about it suggested that it was a cute girl! Tianming felt his heart melting.
“Sixth was a sea of white, but what about Seventh? What kind of cuteness will it have? I’ve already been let down once by Sixth, so please be good….” He didn’t think that the egg would actually move like it was shaking its head and stick close to Tianming’s cheeks. He immediately smiled warmly like a gentle father.
He carefully cradled the egg, almost afraid to touch it. Then, something about the egg changed. It didn’t hatch, but it let out a pink glow, eventually floating in front of him like a ball of light.
“How pretty!” Xian Xian stared at it without moving.
The pink ball looked like a tiny nova source world. Some kind of astral dust seemed to surround it, forming some kind of pink fog. If it was a real star, it would no doubt be among the prettiest. Seventh seemed rather agreeable and hovered close to Xian Xian, hanging near its chest like a crystal that further enhanced its beauty.
“Huh?” Xian Xian admired the egg and relayed its words. “Seventh just said that the energy it needs to hatch is ahead in the direction the sun is moving.”
“I see. Once we deal with Violetglory, I’ll let it hatch.” This time, he wouldn’t let his newest lifebound beast run away from him.
