Tianming recalled that Yin Chen’s egg had cracked quite a lot before it hatched, and the same was occurring with Seventh. It no longer looked much like an egg after the cracking, but had turned into a pure pink ball of light. As long as it was beside Tianming, he would look like he was covered in a pink aura.
“I wonder if this pink crystal can help you evolve,” Tianming said.
The little egg beeped loudly as it excitedly circled him.
“Then, maybe we should just wait for Ling’er to come back. Or… will you be able to go inside to look for her?” The thought of that made him freeze up. Sixth had run into the Xenoworld and hatched itself before vanishing. The Kunlan Realm was another mysterious place in the astralscape of order, so there was a good chance the egg would be lost there. Fortunately for him, the egg disapprovingly shook while remaining snuggled against him, almost looking fearful that Tianming would toss it inside.
“Looks like you’re quite the needy little one. That’s good,” he said like a loving father. “All that’s left is to wait for her return.”
She had already sent him a sign and was no doubt struggling for survival. She was racing against death and fighting the Well of Reincarnation. He couldn’t bring himself to leave this place.
“Are you going to go to the sun or wait here?” he asked Xiaoxiao.
“I’ll be waiting here, of course.”
“Alright.” He sat down and waited.
A few days later, Primary’s absorption was complete. The flowery construct vanished in the astralscape, leaving only Kunlan Lake behind. There was nothing else but endless star-filled space around it.
A few pieces of debris and Yin Chens orbited them. Tianming had told Wudi about everything, so the sun was waiting on standby. During that time, the Flameyellow Guard Formation had to remain activated. Fifty million Yin Chens were also orbiting the sun in ladybug form, constantly surveilling for enemy presence.
The Violetglorians were unaware of the pursuit of the mysterians, so they didn’t have anything to say about the sun remaining stationary. They would go on to build new homes in this new world. Only Sovereigns Brightscorch and Starfeather asked about their situation, and when they estimated the time it would take for the enemy to arrive, they decided to trust Tianming.
“A hero must always have a beauty, so it’s understandable,” Sovereign Brightscorch said.
“That’s no mere beauty. The primalwinger girl can mobilize their entire kind and even enter the Kunlan Realm, truly a magnificent figure. Who else could be a better mate for our monstrous Tianming?” said Sovereign Starfeather.
“That primalwinger girl aside, even Ye Lingfeng is terrifying enough already. Tianming isn’t the only strong one. He also has a ridiculously terrifying entourage. Even our Ye Chen can only just barely fit in with them.”
“Ye Chen? How’s he been doing lately?”
“He has been furiously training, thanks to recent influences.”
They knew how important a role Lingfeng had played during Skywolf’s invasion. Taking a risk with Tianming was something that was understandable. They continued to invest their efforts into their new home. The Violetglorians were an elegant people; given their refined understanding of formations and architecture, they quickly erected a beautiful violet city on the sun.
“The surface might be large, but the soil seems a little thin. No matter. I heard their fusion formation can absorb space debris and asteroids, as well, so it will get thicker in time.”
The astralscape remained rather quiet and desolate as time passed. Tianming cultivated while he kept an eye on Kunlan Lake. Most of the time, the surface of the lake was calm and without waves. However, cyclic bugs would break through from time to time, causing another wave of fog to give him a glimpse into the battle in Perpetia.
The frail girl was surrounded by countless bugs, surviving and filling her ancient city with pink crystals. Such scenes were her way of telling him to not give up on her. She would return in one piece!
Tianming hugged the pink egg tight while Xian Xian’s spiritform wrapped its arms around his neck, nervously watching. Eventually, five months passed, with Feiling fighting ceaselessly throughout. More and more wounds had appeared on her, and even her colorful wings were filled with countless holes. Her body seemed to grow darker and darker, yet the number of cyclic bugs showed no sign of abating. Instead, there were more and more of them.
She kept soldiering on, converting the cyclic bugs into pink crystals that filled Perpetia. The fog coming from Kunlan Lake eventually grew messier and messier, resulting in the degradation of many images. Tianming, Xian Xian, and the pink egg seemed all the more nervous, with the latter two looking like they were about to cry.
Tianming believed that those two were definitely companions of the ruler of Perpetia in their previous lives, hence why they were so instinctively worried about Feiling. They could only wait and were unable to offer any help at all, which only made them all the more anxious. What was even more troubling was that the sun hadn’t moved at all in the past five months. They were in the danger zone, and the mysterians’ vanguard might appear at any time.
That day, the Divine Sun Palace came flying toward Kunlan Lake. Wudi got out and told Tianming, “From Violetglory, the sun is about the size of a face. Once the enemy fleet reaches there, we’ll definitely be detected.”
“I know.”
“We’re risking it a bit. The sovereigns of Violetglory seem a little anxious and wanted me to remind you. It’s not like they’re asking you to give up on my daughter-in-law, all they’re asking is whether they can move the sun somewhere further.”
It was a completely reasonable consideration. They had chosen to entrust Tianming with all the lives of Violetglory, and if anything went wrong, they would bear a huge responsibility for it.
“If they move, I’ll no longer have any Omnisentient Threads supporting me. I worry that the sun itself won’t be able to hold up without me around once we’re discovered,” Tianming said. Currently, he was the cornerstone of the sun’s defense. While it had grown to six times its former size, it would take many years for the sun’s denizens to catch up in strength.
“How about this? I’ll hide the Divine Sun Palace and wait here while you bring the sun away. You don’t have to go too far, just somewhere it won’t be seen from Violetglory. Once Feiling returns, I’ll take her back. That way, even if the sun is discovered, it’d still have a force to fight back,” Wudi said.
“I think it’d be better for Sovereign Starfeather to come. We’ll need you in the event of a fight, since you control the Flameyellow Guard Formation,” Tianming said. He was worried about Feiling and wanted to be the first to receive her, but he was responsible for all of his subjects. Not to mention, leaving a single sovereign at Kunlan Lake was much safer. There was only a minuscule chance that it would be discovered, given how vast space was. A nova source world, on the other hand, was a shining beacon.
“Alright. I’ll go back and send Sovereign Starfeather over, then,” Wudi said.
“Got it.”
“Relax! She’s much more capable than you can imagine. I knew from a single glance that she was no normal girl!”
“Stop stroking your own ego and leave.”
