Chapter 2187 - Bloodline Hairfiend
Chapter 2187 – Bloodline Hairfiend
It was vital that Tianming and Feiling paid attention to the strength of the beast. A mid-deific-class nova wildbeast could be stronger than a lifebound beast of a sixth-level stellaminor by a few levels. In essence, the beasts were classified according to how they matched up against a stellaminor beastmaster and all their beasts, not just a single part of them.
For instance, the bloodline hairfiend might be just a mid-deific-class beast, but it was much larger than lifebound beasts with eight or nine thousand stars! As they didn’t have any cultivation technique, levels didn’t really matter to them.
Tianming believed that there was something he could do to help. Thankfully, it wasn’t a high-deific-class nova wildbeast that he couldn’t do anything about, as those would be stronger than ninth-level stellaminors, superior to even the Blood Abyss Wargod. There were also sanctuary, ether, and infinitum-class nova wildbeasts, with ether being equivalent to cosmic cartographers. As for infinitum-class beasts, they might even threaten the existence of Ebonia itself.
No resident of Ebonia would dare to underestimate nova wildbeasts, not even the natives, for the beasts were even more native to the world than they were. The underground world was a natural barrier that protected them from complete extermination.
Tianming also didn’t dare to be too careless with the bloodline hairfiend. While it might not have a soul or intelligence, it was incredibly savage. “Ling’er, stick close to me!” After years of fighting together, their coordination was impeccable. Feiling mustered the power of Perpetia in her hand in preparation as Tianming turned into a beam of light that shot toward the gigantic, bloody cocoon, both hands wielding the fused Grand-Orient Sword as he descended toward it while executing the Ninedragon Tribulation. It was all the power he could muster, including the Flint Infernal Impulse, and it was the only move he had that could pierce the red cocoon.
Countless blood vessels came thrusting toward him, but he eradicated all of them. Then his blade descended like a meteor, rending the blood-red boil and the surrounding stone into pieces. His sword ki intensified with the Flint Infernal Impulse! All that was left after the strike was a gaping hole in the blood-colored cocoon.
The bloodline hairfiend groaned as the heart-like object beat faster and faster, generating countless more strands of blood vessels. Like hair that fluttered in the wind, the vessels zipped toward Tianming once more.
“Over there!” The clan disciples that had been trapped within saw light pouring in from the hole. All six of them took the chance to escape.
“The seniors are here to save us!”
“Thank goodness for the Swordsoul Chamber!”
The youths cheered as tears of joy flowed.
“That’s right! I’m your senior—watch out!” Tianming watched as the enraged bloodline hairfiend sent even more blood vessels after them. At the same time, it spread a bloody mist that contained a form of toxin from an ability it used.
“Lin Feng, it’s you! Where’s the seniors?” They immediately recognized him once they left. Though they had initially felt relieved to be freed, seeing Tianming there without any seniors caused them to freeze.
“Can’t you see? They aren’t here,” Tianming said.
“You were the one that saved us?” The others watched with their mouths agape.
Tianming swept his gaze across them and found that they were disciples of the six branch with whom he hadn’t had much contact, not that that would stop him from rescuing them when he could. They were still from the same clan, after all. “Careful!”
The rest were still in awe of his rescue, but the bloodline hairfiend hadn’t given up on them just yet. More blood vessels shot toward the back of the sixth branch disciples. Tianming zipped behind them and fully deployed his Imperealm Sword Formation, tearing apart any vessel that tried to approach.
“Quick, run away! Don’t just stay here and get in my way!” Tianming shouted.
“What in the world? Lin Feng, aren’t you leaving?” asked the leader of the group, who was more than two meters tall. He was large, but not in the burly sense. Instead, he was incredibly fat. His waist made him look like a barrel and his arms were thicker than Tianming’s upper thighs. He held a heavy greatsword that looked much larger and thicker than the Grand-Orient Sword, the pommel of which sported a cute picture of a pig. His lifebound beasts had turned into swordbeasts and fused with his sword, causing it to shine. The beastly aura coming from the blade made it look powerful.
Tianming gave him a look and was quite shocked at what he saw. The fat disciple’s card stated his name to be Lin Huan and his status to be the heir of the Sixth Branch. He was on the same level, in status, at least, as Tianming. Anyone that could become the heir of a branch usually had six-six talent and six different lifebound beasts. In addition to that, Lin Huan was a sixth-level stellaminor. Given how he still dared to fight after being trapped before, he did seem to be the courageous type.
“Of course I’m not leaving! I need more merit points!” Tianming said.
“Damn… your balls are heavy, I’ll give you that. Then I’ll risk my life to stick close to you,” Lin Huan said.
“Hey, phrasing! Just say ‘accompany’, alright?” Tianming knew that Lin Huan was decently powerful. He had only been caught because he was trying to save his comrades. As for the other five, they graciously came to help Tianming.
“You should leave. I don’t want you guys to take my share of merit points,” Tianming said.
“You still care about that at this point? Fine, I won’t deal the final blow!” Lin Huan said.
Tianming didn’t bother answering. As the bloodline hairfiend’s attack intensified, he called Feiling over.
“I’m here.” She spread her primalwings and flew to his side. While using primalwings was forbidden in the Swordsoul Purgatory, Tianming doubted that anyone would care, as the bloodline hairfiend had already claimed a few victims.
Feiling immediately deployed Perpetia. A transparent city of spacetime spread out and trapped the bloodline hairfiend within. While Tianming would hesitate when facing a monster like that without her, her presence and Perpetia’s help removed that hesitation completely. Not only did the bloodline hairfiend move incredibly slowly within Perpetia, as if it was caught within a thick swamp, it also ran into many walls that obstructed it.
Feiling flew around in the air, avoiding the attacks as they came. Another strand of color appeared in her wings, making them even more transparent and dreamlike. That pair of wings were called Heptaskill Cicadawings, which had a powerful Cicada Blast ability, making them suited for offense.
Many people from the Swordsoul Chamber noticed Feiling taking action. Seeing a goddess like her grace the battlefield was quite the shocking experience. Her Heptaskill Cicadawings flapped so quickly that the naked eye could barely see them.
