Chapter 2278 - Bees' Nest Tomb
Chapter 2278 – Bees’ Nest Tomb
“If things go on like this, I shouldn’t take too long to reach the seventh level. Maybe I’ll only need around seven or eight months.” Had Tianming remained in a heliacal-class world, he might not be able to make any progress at all, seeing how those sovereigns hadn’t made any breakthroughs in centuries. Tianming’s growth rate was already completely unbelievable, let alone when compared to the likes of Sovereigns Starfeather and Brightscorch..com
Time gradually passed, and the fights for the ranking were getting more intense. Lin Hongchen hadn’t engaged any other fighters for quite some time, so his ranking fell to thirty-fifth, much to the worry of the Swordgod Lin Clan. His Oldgod Ring’s feed had been lost for a long time as well; where could he possibly be?
Unlike the people back at the Infinitum Swordsea, Tianming was keeping tabs on Lin Hongchen’s every move. He was still inside the tomb. “This fellow sure is persistent, I’ll give him that. No wonder he’s number one in the clan.”
That mindset was something he could respect. But without any inspiration or leads, Lin Hongchen was just wasting his time and attention. Lin Hongchen remained in the tomb for three entire months without any solid leads, and nobody else went there in the meantime! He tried studying the four skeletons, but he got nothing out of those, either. Tianming was only able to make use of them thanks to his sky plunderer traits and Yin Chen.
“He’s finally gone!” After three months, Lin Hongchen’s patience finally ran out. He left the tomb, leaving it for Tianming, who had waited far too long for this day, to claim. He wasn’t worried about Lin Hongchen turning back at all, since Yin Chen was still keeping a close eye on him as he made his way to the distance.
“We’re back.” Tianming once more found his way to the mystical tomb. He looked at his right hand. Two of the fingers were glowing a faint green. With nobody else around, he waltzed into the tomb and immediately turned to the palm print, then narrowed his eyes.
“Who in the world left this here? What’re they trying to say?” Why would such a terrifying tomb have seven green skeletons inside it? He took a deep breath and got down to the ground. He first prodded the print with his black hand. Once he was sure there was no trace of a formation, he stretched his right hand out. The two glowing fingers attached to his palm seemed to match the glow of the palm print. It was clearly a woman’s, though the size more or less matched Tianming’s.
“Let’s see how deep you are.” Tianming placed his right hand on the print, and it was a perfect match!
“Huh?” When his fingers lined up, it felt like he was holding someone’s hand. However, nothing about the tomb he was in had changed.
“Weird….” He stood up and left the tomb. Looking at the spherical room and his right hand, he noticed that the green glow was pulsing even more. All of a sudden, his fingers began uncontrollably shaking, as well as the tomb! The dilapidated wooden door slammed shut, causing the tomb to turn back into a smooth sphere.
“What is going on?” Right as he was feeling skeptical about the whole thing, the sphere suddenly caved in around ten or so parts. The empty sphere seemed to have completely transformed.
“Hexagonal apertures? Aren’t these the shapes of those nest-like orders?” The hollow tomb had transformed into something solid without warning. Then, hexagonal apertures opened up all over the sphere, spaced out without touching each other. As Tianming marveled at the sight, the tomb rapidly began to spin and expand! And all of that commotion was accompanied by a green glow.
The commotion grew louder and louder, to the point that the sound was deafening. Streams of green light poured out of the hexagonal holes, filling the area around Tianming with green illumination and making the world around him suddenly feel verdant and alive. The sound and lights were so overstimulating that he felt that his eardrums were about to shatter. He had to protect himself with astralforce to weather the shockwaves, and even then, he was sent flying tens of thousands of meters away!
“Not good. Such a huge commotion will no doubt draw many people here, especially the Mundus Enforcers. They’ll be here soon, given how powerful they are. There’s no way Yin Chen will be able to keep track of their locations!” Tianming didn’t like all the commotion; he only wanted to enjoy his riches in private, but it seemed that he would be discovered before he could even pocket the riches. He was the one who had opened the tomb, so he couldn’t let anyone else have it! That wasn’t fair!
“I’m still the closest to it. I hope I’ll at least have some kind of advantage.” Ideally, he wanted to take some treasures before the Mundus Enforcers arrived, then slip away undiscovered. “The Mundus Enforcers are normal people, too. No doubt they’ll be swayed by the appearance of treasures. Even if they can’t take control of those treasures themselves, they’ll still be rewarded if they gave them to someone stronger who could.” Tianming had a feeling that something that was sealed behind a hundred thousand locks would be precious to everyone in Ebonia.
“The only reason something like this hasn’t happened in the Oldgod Domain before is because no sky plunderer has ever come here!” Tianming was the only one who had done what so many before him couldn’t.
“Hurry up!” He held on despite the noise and flashes of green, glaring hard at the rapidly spinning sphere. He watched it expanding and transforming as more and more hexagonal holes appeared. Then the spherical tomb seemed to vanish, leaving behind a gigantic bees’ nest around ten thousand meters in diameter that looked just like the order of a cosmic cartographer!
From below, one could see its hexagonal structures linked together to form a seemingly perfect whole in an incredibly orderly fashion. A cold green glow still emanated from the spinning nest as an ancient and vast aura radiated from it.
The entire Oldgod Domain had felt the rumbling from the spinning of the tomb. Yin Chen said there were so many people coming toward him that it couldn’t keep count of them all.
“A bees’ nest tomb? What in the world is this?” He didn’t have any answer, but he knew that the fingers on his right hand had caused it to appear. The only thing he could be certain of was that there were no chrysalises within the nest itself.
