Chapter 2424: Mount Taia's Quintessence
Chapter 2424 – Mount Taia’s Quintessence
The astralships lit up and revealed the warbeast army, as well as the monsters pouring out of the depths.
Attacked on three fronts, the Dongshen Clan seemed to be teetering on the edge of a cliff. They may not even need to get to the fight to be crushed by the ebons, but unfortunately, they wouldn’t even be given a chance to surrender.
The ebons had been feeling repressed since losing the first rex mundi position while their prestige continued falling in various areas. Combined with an issue popping up with the Lin Clan alliance that cost them face, most of them were planning to vent their fifty years of pent-up anger on the Dongshen Clan today.
“After we paint Mount Taia red, I want to see who still dares to make comments about us! Fifty years ago, they were all slaves who knelt down to us!”
The ebon army really wanted to know how the Dongshen ants below felt. Tears? Regret? Hatred? Grief? Kneeling on the ground and begging for mercy?
“Doesn’t matter, they don’t have a chance anymore, haha.”
It had been fifty years. The ebons well and truly needed to kill by now.
However, was the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan really quaking in their boots?
……
In the center of the Dongshen Clan’s formation was a circular stage glowing with golden light. Nine flaming pillars stood atop it. Countless spiritual threads for controlling the formation extended from the top of the pillars, forming a web that encompassed the entire clan. Clansmen each grasped a thread and looked toward the flaming pillars.
There was an altar at the center of the platform, and all the important figures of the clan were there. Among them were the clan leader, Dongshen Yang, and his son, Dongshen Zhuojun.
“They were killed by Chi Hun. I only stole the treasure. If I stayed long enough to kill three thousand people, I would’ve been caught,” Dongshen Zhuojun announced in a booming voice to his clan. “It was all Chi Hun’s plan! He purposely relaxed the defenses so I would steal back the relic. Then he used that and me ‘killing ebons’ as an excuse to incite the ebons to attack our clan!”
At those words, Dongshen Zhuojun’s knees crashed to the ground. He raised an item that was aflame and kowtowed. “Father, my kinsman! I’m the harbinger of doom for the Dongshen Clan, an eternal sinner!”
Everyone knew that after setting up such a big conspiracy and sending so many troops, the ebons weren’t planning to give the Dongshen Clan any path out.
“No! My dad’s the hero who took back our ancient relic! That tenth rex mundi is the shameless sinner. He dares to use astralships and the Infinitum Bodhimanda will punish him! Sooner or later, everyone will realize that it was him that killed the three thousand ebons!” Dongshen Xiaoli shouted as loud as she could within the crowd, tears running down her cheeks.
The response to her shout was the light from the astralships in the sky, the shouts of the ebon army, and the howl of the underground beasts.
The three hundred million Dongshen clansmen all silently looked at the altar. The truth was clear. They all believed Dongshen Zhuojun and hated the ebons, but the fear of clan extermination wasn’t something anyone could avoid.
Their gazes were trembling. Dongshen Zhuojun was their hope, their future, and their pillar of support. No one could blame him, as they all knew the meaning of the ancient relic to their clan very well. Over the past few days, the occupation of the mountain by the ebons had also inflamed their fury.
Thus, they wanted to see what Dongshen Yang would say now. Did they have any chance left with the enemy at their gate?
Even the other Dongshen Clan experts were looking at Dongshen Yang.
The old, white-haired man in red looked at his clan before turning to Dongshen Zhuojun. The might of the astralships in the sky was making him weak in the knees and tears filled his eyes as he said, “How very vicious, ebons! You actually want to wipe my clan off the map.…” He wasn’t able to blame Dongshen Zhuojun, as he knew he would have been just as impulsive in the same situation.
“Ancestors, give me an answer! What should my Grandnorth Clan do now?” Dongshen Yang looked at the ancient flaming relic. He breathed in deeply. “Zhuojun, the ebons didn’t figure out the relic’s use after so long, right?”
“No, Father.”
“Give it to me!” Dongshen Yang grew agitated as he appeared in front of Dongshen Zhuojun and plucked the relic from his hands. He cut his finger, letting himself bleed on the ancient relic.
Dongshen Yang screamed in pain as his finger was sucked toward the relic. Everyone was startled when his body visibly shriveled and his face turned white.
“Take the blood of a child of Taia, Mount Taia’s Quintessence!” Dongshen Yang’s face looked worse and worse, but the passion in his voice was at its utmost.
“The legendary Mount Taia’s Quintessence!”
All three hundred million members of the clan were shocked. Many eyes lit up as hope sprung forth.
“Mount Taia’s Quintessence….” Dongshen Zhuojun froze before he quickly clambered to his feet, fire in his eyes. “Let me do it, Father!” He cut his palm and pressed it against the quintessence while his other arm pushed his father away.
Dongshen Yang feebly staggered back and nearly fell to the ground. Those by his side hurried to assist him, but he pushed them away. He watched with wide eyes as the quintessence absorbed Dongshen Zhuojun’s blood. As he was younger, his face was still rosy.
The astralships in the sky roared for the last time. After charging up for so long, the power they were about to unleash would shake the entire mundus!
Dongshen Yang threw his head back and began roaring with laughter. “My dear Chi Hun! You actually ignorantly returned our Mount Taia’s Quintessence! In our Dongshen Clan’s territory! on our Mount Taia! You just fucked yourself over! This daddy is going to send you home in tears today! Hahaha!”
