Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 2433: The Ancestral Tablets’ Pain

Chapter 2433: The Ancestral Tablets’ Pain

Tianming felt his brain buzz with a sensation of shock. “Ebonia’s long history is apparent. The bond between the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan and their mountain could never be found in a heliacal-class world.” Not even the people of Azurecloud Continent who had been blessed by the Azurecloud Divine Tree for generations could place all their faith in a mere tree.

“Perhaps it’s another expression of a clan’s inheritance!”

It was precisely because of their irrational belief that the sacred mountain developed its will. It was compassionate and profound, and considered itself part of the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan. Together with them, it resisted the ebons’ brutal attack.

“Our clan may be weak, but we will not be bullied!!” Following Dongshen Yang’s heart-piercing shout, all three hundred million members of the Dongshen Clan roared. The guard formation reached full power, bearing the combined attack of thirteen ether-class astralships.

A thunderous boom reverberated and the ground violently shook. Numerous cracks appeared in the ground beneath their feet. When the enormous force was released, the dark clouds churned and a hole opened up in them. The trees, rocks, and land were reduced to dust. What was once a lush, verdant forest was turned into scorched earth by the destructive power of nova source.

But when the smoke dissipated and the sky reappeared, they could clearly see that the Dongshen Scorching Sun Guard Formation still shone over the majestic mountain, much like the Dongshen Clan’s astonishing fighting spirit. It greatly boosted the clan’s confidence. They let out another deafening roar that was really a counterattack against the thirteen astralships and six hundred thousand astral gods.

The ebons, Central Shuntian Clan, Fiend Qiangnan Clan, and Eastpole Skyshaker Family were all Infinitum Regal Clans that were more powerful than the current Swordgod Lin Clan. Any one of them could push Dongshen Yang around, yet at this moment, their thirteen astralships combined had failed to defeat the Grandnorth Dongshen Clan. The Rex Mundi Alliance on the astralships clearly heard the cheers of faith, provocations, and curses from below.

“How’s that possible? A high-sanctuary-class guard formation might not even be able to withstand the combined power of thirteen ether-class astralships.”

In a head-to-head confrontation, there would still be a disparity in the strength of an astralship and a guard formation supported by hundreds of millions of people. To destroy a heliacal-class guard formation, one would require a certain number of skypiercer-class astralships. Meanwhile, the attackers were in high-ether-class astralships. Logically speaking, destroying a low-sanctuary-class guard formation shouldn’t be difficult for them.

After fusion formations, astralguard formations were the most powerful weapons in the astralscape of order. Astralships could only rank third, and top experts came after that. Fusion formations were rarely used for battle. In reference to the combat power of a clan, astralguard formations played the biggest role, followed by astralships, top experts, the number of astral gods, and lastly their army of gods.

Of course, that was only counting top experts in the top hundred of the reges mundi ranking. Individuals below that level weren’t strong enough to influence the combat power of an entire clan. But even so, thirteen high-ether-class astralships had failed to destroy a low-sanctuary-class guard formation. It was unbelievable! In fact, Chi Hun had originally believed that all that power was overkill.

“How’s it still standing?”

All six hundred thousand astral gods froze until Chi Hun issued another command.

“The enemy possesses Mount Taia’s Quintessence, which can enhance their guard formation. One attack won’t be enough to take them down. Continue attacking until the formation is broken!”

Lin Xiao was protected by the formation; how could Chi Hun get to him if it wasn’t destroyed? His killing intent could be inferred from those words alone.

“Do as the tenth rex mundi says.”

“Everyone, prepare to attack again!”

“Increase the output of nova source and use maximum power!”

“If one attack isn’t enough, we’ll attack ten times, or even a hundred times!”

.

“Can their low-sanctuary-class guard formation still stand if we use up all of our nova source?!”

The astralships began building up power for another attack. Despair washed over the Dongshen Clan again; however, they were more confident after successfully resisting an attack. Surging with rage, they roared again, united as one by blood and tears, working as a whole to defend their clan.

Chi Hun frowned upon seeing that. Impatiently pulling out his gold transmission stone, he spoke to the man on the other end. “Lin Jie, are you ready? Make haste so that I can slaughter Lin Xiao. How will you ever get ahead if Lin Xiao doesn’t die?”

After a moment of silence, the figure said, “Rex Mundi, we’ll arrive at the council hall soon.”

……

Tianming listened quietly to Yin Chen talk about the situation on Mount Taia. Tianming, Feiling, Xiaoxiao, and Moran were currently onboard a deific-class astralship named Fishguts that looked like a gold sword. As the smallest of the deific-class astralships, it was able to enter the council hall. Despite its size, there was enough nova source for Moran. Ji Ji had already merged with the compact nova source, turning it pink and transforming it into genesis ancestral nova source.

“The defensive formations of deific-class astralships can’t stop cultivators at the higher levels of Cosmic Cartography.” That was why they would have to rely on Moran’s divine wonders. On the other hand, an ether-class astralship would at least be able to last for some time. Lin Jie and his people might not even be able to destroy one.

Unfortunately, ether-class astralships were too large to enter the council hall, but Tianming would be exposed to Tianxi and the alien monster if he were to leave the council hall. After all, there was a high chance they could invade the Phantavoid. Thus, this was the best solution he could come up with.

“Don’t worry, if Lin Jie does this, then the Swordgod Lin Clan is truly divided and that’ll mean internal war. It’ll be difficult for the rex mundi to intervene in something like that,” Lin Chongyao said.

“It’d be a disaster for the Lin Clan if it really comes to that. A new beginning would be impossible without bloodshed,” Lin Xiong said.

“I only hope that they won’t be confused by their desire for power…. Siding with the ebons won’t end well. What’s happening on Mount Taia at this moment proves that they’ve only been vicious oppressors throughout the ages!” Tianming said.

“Sometimes it isn’t just for the sake of power. An obstinate man might not allow himself to turn back after making certain choices,” Lin Chongyao helplessly said.

“Do you mean Lin Jie or Lin Chongjing? “Lin Xiong asked.

“They’re the same. Lin Chongjing wants to replace me, while Lin Jie wants to control and rule the Swordgod Lin Clan. I know exactly what kind of people they are…” Lin Chongyao replied.

For a moment, they were all silent. Then, Tianming spoke.

“Get ready to fight.”

“What?”

“They’re here.”

All of the Lin Clan’s ancestral tablets dimmed. It was as if their ancestors were silently weeping.
