Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 2653 - Black Nine-Headed Mechanical Dragon

Chapter 2653 – Black Nine-Headed Mechanical Dragon

A dark, terrifying silhouette of a beast shot up into the skies, expanding nonstop.

“Evade!” Meng Ying paled from the shock, their eyes filled with confusion and flabbergastment.

“What in the world is that?!” shrieked the female child.

They subconsciously swerved the Dreamchild in an attempt to evade the incoming predator, but they’d forgotten the eight hundred thousand flameyellow fiends that had them held down. The ship was unable to move in the slightest, and all the might of their divine wonders were being used for opening the coffin!

Even though the Dreamchild rumbled from the amount of nova source that surged from its power source, it wasn’t able to budge in the slightest. The flameyellow fiends groaned in unison as they formed a great net, linking arms to hold down the ship! From the sea of flames beneath, the black silhouette approached with utmost ferocity. It was a dragon of pure black whose fangs, talons, whiskers, and horns all gave off the cold glint of metal. The scales on the dragon were as sharp as blades, sparkling as light bounced off from every angle. It was a black mechanical dragon that seemed to be made of the toughest divine ores in the universe, appearing far more menacing than the rocky Flameyellow Coffin!

“The Gladean Ruins?! Why’s it here? What’s Shenxi Xingtian doing?!” the girl shrieked.

“It isn’t the Gladean Ruins!” the boy cried, his eyes widening. The reason he was so certain of that became apparent in the next moment. More and more metallic dragon heads emerged from the flames, all of them sporting fangs and whiskers that were just as sharp and tough. There were nine in total! Meng Ying could think of nothing but the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb from before, with the only difference being that this ship was covered in a metallic black and it was now about the same mass as the Gladean Ruins. It was no wonder it had been mistaken for it at first!

More importantly, the nine dragon heads seemed more terrifying than those of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb from before. All of the dragon, including its body and tail, was covered in an infinitum-class ore: fiendvore drakegold. That type of ore was used to make the strongest cosmic artifacts that could contain divine ordered formations. Like the spike-covered Lan Huang, it seemed like a machine that had been purpose-built for battle, with each scale seemingly able to threaten the integrity of other divine astralships.

Thanks to Ji Ji, the ship glowed pink, but that didn’t take away from its menace in the slightest. Instead, it made it seem even more domineering. Its appearance suggested nothing but destruction. The nine-headed dragon shook the flaming clouds with its ear-piercing roar during its ascent. Even Meng Ying couldn’t help but shudder at the sight of such raw violence. Mere moments ago, they had been on the brink of victory, yet feelings of confusion and stupefaction filled their minds, causing them to blank out long enough for the infinitum-class Ninedragon Imperial Tomb to close the distance.

“This is my turf! It’s one thing for the ebons to invade, but why’d you divine wonderians come so far to join the fray?! If you want to take what’s ours, be prepared to leave your lives behind as you do so!” roared a charred person from within the ship. He had completely fused with the ship; his rage was the wrath of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb!

The ship was too fast. The nova source within surged as it parted the sea of flames, causing the flameyellow fiends to give way. The Dreamchild hadn’t been able to shake itself free before the nine heads and four claws of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb sank into it. The heads bit down hard, while the claws held fast! While the Dreamchild was able to liquefy, the bite and grip strength of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb was enough that it could tear chunks off of it even if that were attempted. The fangs and talons pierced through the Dreamchild’s formation, causing it to wildly struggle!

“Shake it off first!” Meng Ying snapped out of their daze and counterattacked with their divine wonders and the Dreamchild. They gave up on pressing the attack on Wudi and only used a small portion of their power to pin down the coffin.

Wudi couldn’t stand it at all, being filled with rage. The more the Flameyellow Coffin struggled, the more force he could divert away from Tianming. While Meng Ying fumbled over shifting priorities back and forth, the freshly evolved Ninedragon Imperial Tomb didn’t idly hover.

“Now! Die! Already!” The ultimate weapon of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb revealed itself. Wudi watched as the tail of the ship changed to resemble a Starbreaker. The black spiked tail had a point as sharp as a spear, coldly glinting. The sight of the super-drill tail was terrifying to behold. No doubt, it was the toughest part of the entire ship. It glowed pink as nova source was fed into it, following which it began rapidly spinning, to the point that the sound it gave off clawed at the ears of anyone listening.

Meng Ying immediately became alert! They shuddered as they took control of the Dreamchild, completely ignoring Wudi and using all of their divine wonders’ power to pry apart the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb’s jaws and claws! Their divine wonders were indeed powerful. Given that the Dreamchild was an agile ship to begin with, it wouldn’t have been so capable in combat had it not been for the divine wonders.

Wudi had been waiting for that chance all along. “It’s time for the tiger to pounce! And you thought I was nothing but a harmless cat?” He set his sights on the remaining infant tanks and sent the coffin smashing into them! “Bring it on! You’re being assaulted on both fronts. Let’s see if you dare to let your greed show from now on!”

If the divine wonderians hadn’t lusted after the Flameyellow Coffin and focused on charging toward the Sky Palace Formation, Tianming wouldn’t have had this chance. It was their greed that had given him and Wudi an opening!

Wudi unleashed all his pent-up frustration. Even though the girl immediately used part of her divine wonder to suppress the coffin, she wasn’t able to stop Wudi from doing what he wanted at all! While the coffin was rather slow, it still managed to smash close to two million of those tanks. Black liquid and severed body parts were littered all over the Dreamchild.

“Aaaagh!” The two children shrieked with horror once more, as if they were having their inner organs scraped out of them while they were awake.
