Chapter 2690 - Curse Vortex
Chapter 2690 – Curse Vortex
Not even Fu Xun had taken Tianming’s full-powered strike before. The unending slaughter of the decapath era godswords wiped out the abilities of the three uncles before landing on their bodies.
The three of them instantly paled, completely unable to endure the strike despite their tough specter bodies. Their heptastar organs immediately began to burn and crumble as three strands of sword ki—metal, fire, and lightning—tore through them. In an instant, Tuyi, Changhe, and Hetu died! Many villagers recoiled in horror.
They uncontrollably shrieked at the unimaginable notion that the bullies of the village would be eradicated just like that. Even important people from Creektown had to afford those three some modicum of respect! How could they die just like that?
“It’s got nothing to do with me!”
“I was forced to take part by them!”
“I’m innocent!”
They didn’t dare to keep fighting and immediately ran.
“Trying to run? Take my sword strike!” Ying Huo loved it when people turned their backs to it.
While not many of the villagers had actually died, almost all of them had been badly injured. But compared to the helplessly shrieking villagers, Shi Xiao, who had witnessed his uncles being slaughtered from up close, felt the most shock and blankly stood there. “What?”
The next instant, a black-and-gold reaper appeared before his eyes. Shi Xiao felt his scalp tingle numbly as his nightmares came true. He felt the urge to kneel! “I’m a student of the Creek Martial Academy! My dad is the village chief! My fiancee is—”
Before he could finish, Tianming blasted his body apart with the power that remained from the previous strike. “You should report to the god of death, not me.”
Sword ki ravaged Shi Xiao’s gigantic body until it completely collapsed. Shi Xiao died just like that, his gaze filled with a regret that all the villagers clearly witnessed. While they hadn’t wanted to force Beibei to that extent, they also hadn’t wanted something like this to happen, either.
But now it had ended, and it wouldn’t happen again.
“Shi Xiao’s dead!” The fleeing villagers and some newcomers panicked at the sight. The entire village was in turmoil. The sheer number of people who began fleeing caused a localized earthquake as they ran and shrieked in total terror. Tianming could tell that that was more or less where he should stop.
“Come back.” Once the true elites returned, he could still escape using the rope. However, Ying Huo and the rest were too far away from him and wouldn’t be able to return to the corporeal world if he were to be forced to flee at that moment. As such, he had to be extra careful with lifebound beasts in the Xenoworld.
Ying Huo and the rest had had their share of fun and obediently returned to the lifebound space. Only Meow Meow remained in its Regal Chaosfiend form. Xian Xian put Beibei and Aunt Hua on the giant feline’s back before returning to the lifebound space as well, then Tianming got on the back of Meow Meow.
Turning back, he saw that the two of them were still blank with shock. Shi Xiao and the other three, people they had feared to no end, had perished just like that. Their village was so small that nothing like that was even conceivable. Something like that wasn’t supposed to happen within their lifetimes, yet someone had actually just slaughtered the unruly tyrants of the village. It was truly unbelievable.
“What’s wrong? Do you have any luggage to pack?” Tianming asked.
“I… I….” Beibei couldn’t say anything else.
“Are you going to take your things with you? People have died, and I doubt you’ll be able to stay here any longer.”
“No-no need… we… we don’t have anything,” Aunt Hua stammered. She clutched her mouth as her tears flowed, hugging Beibei even tighter.
“Let’s… let’s go,” Beibei said, biting her lip.
“Alright, will do.” Tianming didn’t say much else. Meow Meow lazily stretched before lightning covered its body once more and it vanished with astonishing speed before the villagers’ horrified eyes.
“Thank you….” Beibei looked behind at the village she had lived in for all of her life. No longer able to control her tears, she wept so much that it made Meow Meow’s fur wet.
“You’re welcome.” Tianming radiantly smiled.
Even now, countless cries of doom echoed from the village. “They’re dead!”
……
After leaving Silverfox Village, Meow Meow ran across a wide, ancient expanse. The surrounding landscape was filled with natural beauty, though Tianming didn’t really know where they were going. It was said that there were many desolation beasts in the Xenoabyss, and few actual people. He didn’t know where he could drop Beibei and her mother off at.
At the end of the day, I’m still just a passing guest here to look for my own family. He honestly didn’t know what to do. Creektown was just up ahead, but people from Silverfox Village would be there, too. Shi Xiao’s father had ties with people in the town, so it would be dangerous for the two to be found there. Not to mention, Aunt Hua’s xeno fatigue posed a huge problem. Even a slight ride on Meow Meow was hard on her; the clear spirit grass didn’t actually do much to cure the condition.
“Tiny Big Brother, my mom!”
Tianming was contemplating how to deal with them as she yelled. He quickly had Meow Meow stop. They rested near a large, clear lake. “What’s wrong?”
Beibei put her mother down and Tianming got down to look at her. “Her xeno fatigue is acting up again….”
Aunt Hua was terribly pale, and her body twitched from time to time. Foam was coming out of her mouth. It seemed rather painful. Her eyes rolled until her whites were showing, as if she desired the relief of death, but wanted to endure the suffering for the sake of her daughter.
Tianming sighed. Then he spotted a black vortex near the center of Aunt Hua’s brows. It spun in a manner similar to the Sea of Order. Her life force seemed to be being rapidly drained by it.
“Mom! Mom!” Beibei cried as she tried to grab the vortex, but wasn’t able to do anything to it. Aunt Hua’s life force dwindled more and more.
“Xeno fatigue? Is it a curse?” Tianming flew to the spot on Aunt Hua’s forehead near the black vortex. It was incredibly weird!
“Tiny Big Brother, don’t get too close… you’ll also…. Oh, wait, outlanders don’t get xeno fatigue.”
“I’ll be careful.” Tianming approached it a bit closer. The vortex had a diameter of two meters, so he would fall inside if he went any further.
“Touching it should be fine, right?”
