Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 2730 - Golden Specter

Chapter 2730 – Golden Specter

Tianming looked up and saw a stream of gold and orange up in the clouds descending at high speed. In a flash, it appeared next to Xiaoxiao, who quickly reacted by firing a few arrows. But the wave of gold and orange easily avoided her arrows. Not even a single one of the Archaionfiend’s blood lightning bolts managed to strike it, either!

When the orange beam appeared in front of her, she saw that it was a person. It was hard to tell his true age, but he looked like a youth after being returned to his five-hundred-year-old state. He had foot-long orange hair that looked like the spikes of a porcupine and his body was surrounded by blazing flames. His eyes also seemed to burn orange and wild. But the most eye-grabbing part of him was his body of pure gold. Even though it was the same heptastar cosmic body formed from astrons that every astral god had, it looked much stronger than others’. But that all paled in comparison to the mystique of his absent name tag. There was no information hovering above his head at all, not even his cultivation.

“You!” Xiaoxiao tried blocking the incoming attack, but it was too late. The orange-haired youth threw a punch so powerful that it produced sonic shockwaves. It was just a simple punch, yet its speed made it unblockable.

Xiaoxiao took its full force! Though she had a cosmic chart, the simple, crude punch went through it as well. It crumbled like paper and exploded! Xiaoxiao had been killed by a single punch!

In the wondersky realm, one of the rules for beastmasters was that their lifebound beasts would be eliminated once the beastmaster was taken out. As such, the Archaionfiend also vanished from the battlefield.

Everything had happened too quickly. One single punch had changed the flow of battle. Even the audience from the Skydome Mundus wasn’t able to think of anything to say, so they cheered, knowing that if the youth managed to defeat Tianming, their wounded divine wonderian pride could be mended.

“Xiaoxiao?” Tianming watched the whole thing, stunned. To think that a cosmic cartographer like her could be defeated so fast. The enemy must be super strong!

“There was a third fighter after all.” That was the way the rules of Skyhold Bridge were set up. Tianming wasn’t surprised at the appearance of a third fighter, but rather curious about who he was. He must have been someone of great import, seeing how people like Fengqing You and Lin Ke held him up with such reverence. “He must be stronger than the rest, seeing how quickly he took care of Xiaoxiao.”

As for why he’d only showed his hand at this juncture, Tianming figured that they had been trying to save him as a trump card to deal with Tianming at the critical moment. They had taken him seriously after all. Having their third person take Xiaoxiao down was definitely part of their plan, but they never would have expected Tianming to be able to take down one of the divine wonderians due to their disharmony. It was a critical mistake that even Lin Ke and this third fighter speechlessly beheld.

“Fengqing Youyun, are you insane? Why’d you let Mengmeng go alone?!” Lin Ke bellowed.

Fengqing Youyun glared at him coldly, his Emprean Cloud still in hand, and readied his divine wonder.

“Stop messing around. We’re embarrassing ourselves. Let’s quickly end this,” said the orange-haired youth. The orange beam in the sky threateningly shot toward Tianming.

“I want to end this too! This bitch really is testing my patience. I’ll mess with her until she dies and leave that side to you, Li Fan!” Lin Ke yelled. Li Fan was the mystery youth’s name!

Li Fan was dressed in a single pair of long orange pants. His upper body was bare, revealing his firm, muscled body for all to see. The muscles looked like they were made of gold, with every single curve seemingly finely chiseled.

“Wait, he’s no human, but a specter!” Tianming was quite surprised to see that when Li Fan got closer.

Specters at their level usually had much bigger physiques due to their greater power reserves—the giants in the Xenoabyss were one such example. But this youth was in the same size class as everyone else. The reason Tianming was so certain that he was a specter was the terrifying sensation of power he got from the youth’s physical body, as well as the near million stars in his eyes. That was a star count higher than the Archaionfiend’s, and that was supposed to be his level at the age of five hundred! Did he have more than a million out there in the real world? Nobody in the Infinitum Mundus had that many; that alone was proof that the youth had some powerful backers.

“How fast!” The golden specter was in front of Tianming in the next instant. Gaze blazing, he struck with a heavy punch containing the powers of his abilities and cosmoforce. A mighty shadow manifested behind him and matched the punch.

Tianming deflected it with his black sword and arm, yet the shock alone caused many of the hexagonal scales on his arm to fly off. He almost lost his grip on his black sword as he was sent flying and the astrons of his whole body undulated in waves from the force, destabilizing his cosmoforce. “He’s too powerful!”

The Swordgod Lin Clan was powerful in that they could gather the powers of their swordbeasts into their swords, making their single-target damage potential incredibly high, yet this was the most powerful single-target fighter he had encountered. A bloody hole formed on the fist from the Grand-Orient Sword’s strike, but it had already begun healing thanks to Lin Fan’s cosmic chart.

“He struck my sword with his body and nothing else. How tough is he? That’s what a true specter looks like!” It felt like all the other specters that he had encountered were pitiful imitations of the real thing before him.
