Chapter 2750 - Higher Up on the Food Chain

Chapter 2750 – Higher Up on the Food Chain

With the pressure decreased, Tianming could observe the fight from up close while continuing to suppress the enemy with the grand lexicon wonder. Zi Zhen fought in a completely unchained manner, relishing in the violence. Her physical capabilities seemed superior to Li Fan’s.

Coupled with so much astron density, her fists were like pure metal and she used them to deflect the blades and hammer cosmic artifacts of the three brothers. Her chops were like blades, her fists were like hammers, and her fingers were like swords.

Tianming could mimic that with his black arm, but Zi Zhen could use her entire body like a cosmic artifact. Her fighting style was also built upon the fact that she had five cosmic charts, which made it incredibly forgiving if she got hurt while fighting armed people barehanded. Black Dragon’s three cosmic charts were like three extra lives. Having lost two, he became the weakest of the three brothers and his scales’ luster even seemed dimmer.

“‘Up’ and ‘wind’… ‘down’ and ‘wind’….” Tianming continued trying out different combinations, causing the different laws to interact to create different effects. 上 and 风, or ‘upwind’, created a storm that lifted Green Dragon, while 下 and 风, or ‘downwind’, crushed Blood Dragon with a storm from above, and that was just a small combination of all that was possible. Tianming tried out hundreds of them and noticed that the effects were indeed as varied as the combinations. Even a phrase like 水 and 电, or ‘water lightning’, could be used, creating a tidal wave of electricity that fried Black Dragon to the point that he began foaming at the mouth.

“Combining more words makes for stronger effects. I’m sure if I manage to create a unique phrase out of them, the effects that’ll manifest will be just as the phrase describes.” The power of the effects were also modulated by the amount of cosmoforce he was channeling, as well as his familiarity with the divine wonder. Moran had proven that divine wonders had a higher growth potential compared to totems and lifebound beasts. It was the type of fighting style that required the least innate talent, leaving immense room for self-growth.

Tianming started having fun with it. “This divine wonder is like the perfect toy, like the kind I used for learning words!” His inner child surfaced and toyed with the three hellish flood-dragons. Combinations of words manifested nonstop, driving them insane.

“Aaaagh!” Black Dragon grit his teeth and wanted to plow through Yi Chen to get to Tianming, only for Zi Zhen to appear behind him. Her fair, slender leg slammed into his head horizontally, causing it to audibly crack. The kick broke his entire head off and sent it shooting toward Tianming. Then she tore apart the last cosmic chart with her bare hands and Black Dragon’s cosmoforce rapidly dissipated, now that he had no more cosmic charts. Tianming’s providence godswords skewered the head, tearing it to pieces.

Black Dragon had intended to escape using his head, so the order fragments were no doubt with it. Tianming found the spatial ring after eviscerating his astral brain. Within it, he found not five, but seven order fragments! “Jackpot!”

The order fragments were of the same grade as the ones he had gotten before, so they weren’t that precious. They barely had any effect on cosmic cartographers and were only really useful for orderans. Otherwise, the three brothers would have used them for themselves.

But even so, they still sold for high prices. Most times, they weren’t even available to purchase on the market. There was a huge demand among the children of many powerful people for them. As for the rest of the cultivation resources of the three brothers, Black Dragon no doubt had the biggest share. There were more than eight million soulstones alone.

“Do we kill the other two?” Zi Zhen asked.

“Of course! They recognize you now. If we don’t kill them, they’ll think of a way to get back at us, especially with how I got their treasure,” Tianming said.

“Sure.” She didn’t argue.

Tianming didn’t let his guard down and put away the spatial ring, then continued applying pressure on the other two. Zi Zhen could fight as well as a third-level cosmic cartographer in her current state, and with Tianming’s support, Blood Dragon and Green Dragon had no choice but to beg for mercy.

That only infuriated Tianming even more. No doubt, they’d learned to grovel like that from all the people that had begged them for mercy. So why would they deserve any different treatment?

“Die!” Zi Zhen executed Blood Dragon before focusing on taking down Green Dragon. With that, the three brothers’ tyrannical grasp over the nearby area had been put to an end. Tianming entered their cave and cleared out all their treasures. Putting all the other treasures aside, the most important things to him were soulstones and order fragments. He had more than enough stuff like ordered manna.

“Let’s go!” Tianming didn’t linger and got Zi Zhen to leave with him. No doubt, the commotion from the fight would draw in many people.

“There are… people coming… to encircle… the area,” Yin Chen said.

“That’s normal during blackout periods in the Ninth District,” Zi Zhen said. After every fight, scavengers would swoop in and take out the side that had prevailed. Something higher up on the food chain was bound to come their way. As urgent as Yin Chen’s warning was, the coming people would no doubt be much harder to deal with than the three flood-dragons.

“Over here!” It found a spot where the enemies were the most sparse.

Tianming exchanged glances with Zi Zhen and escaped in that direction. Yin Chen also gathered its bodies to leave.

“What’re we going to face?” Tianming asked. Since it was an encirclement, the enemies had no doubt found out about the fight there long ago and were just waiting for Tianming and Zi Zhen to finish up before coming in.

“They seem… like some… divine wonderians,” Yin Chen said.

“Divine wonderians?” It wasn’t too surprising to Tianming. Divine wonderians were spread out over the Xenoworld, though they were also considered outworlders. Perhaps they needed markers and interdimensional lines as well.

“Damn…. They also have divine wonders.” Unlike specters, wondermancers had incredible area control capabilities.
