Chapter 2955 - Failed Evolution
Chapter 2955 – Failed Evolution
A frosty astral vortex hovered above Tianming. With his body having been pierced thousands of times and his astral organs completely threaded through, not to mention his cosmic chart being damaged to such a degree, his body was basically a wreck. The only reason he was still alive at all was thanks to the interconnected astrons in his body.
“Still so prideful, I see. Sure, why not? Look up.” Demoness Yin’s face emerged from the astral vortex. While it was made of stardust, it emanated no heat whatsoever. “Where is my straw… so to speak?”
“Damn!” Calling the seventh astral organ a straw? Tianming couldn’t help but be impressed. Demoness Yin was truly a genius to be able to describe her Sky Starvore Fiendart in such casual terms.
Tianming would truly go insane if this was how he was going to die, unable to speak or resist. Who could accept having their entire astral bodies sucked up by a fiend like that? Not to mention, Feiling was outside and in great danger. The nightmares kept layering atop each other.
But no matter how he raged, the Bloodweaver kept him completely bound. Seeing the witch about to find her way to his ‘straw’, Tianming glared at her even harder. Surely, this was a fate far worse than simple death. It would be one thing if Demoness Yin simply wanted to do the deed as repayment for killing Lin Ke; her figure was something most would die for. But he didn’t even have the luxury of indulging in her amazing body! What threatened to conduct intercourse with him was that ghastly stardust vortex!
“Stupid chicken, aren’t you done yet?!” Tianming howled. Ying Huo and the rest were still in the lifebound space, trying to assimilate the super manna they had forcefully ingested. They weren’t responsive at all, but were completely focused on the process of evolution to break down even more bloodline chains! Before Ying Huo had gone into hibernation, it’d said three simple words: “Keep holding on!”
Tianming was at the very end of his rope, and couldn’t hold on much longer. The Sky Starvore Fiendart was a complete mystery to him. He knew not what terrors awaited him. Not to mention, his body seemed to have been reduced into so many pieces by the Bloodweaver. When the pull of the black hole descended upon him, he felt the astrons of his body coming loose from each other and they were about to be swallowed up by Demoness Yin! If he were a mortal or normal god with normal flesh and blood, his cells would have already been torn apart countless times. With that kind of suction, he probably wouldn’t survive even if he were a cosmic artifact.
“Ying Huo!” He seemed to notice some movement in the fiery red cocoon within his lifebound space. Cracks began riddling it, as if it was hatching. Terrifying power began brewing within the cocoon. “Let us all out, except for Yin Chen!”
Let them out? This time around, only five of them had used the ordered manna, because Ji Ji was temporarily out cold. Tianming didn’t know why Ying Huo had said to leave Yin Chen out, but he did as he was told. Even though his body was completely sealed, he could still open his lifebound space. And when he did, four powerful waves of Primordial Chaos Beast power emanated from his body and shot toward the giant!
Flames, lightning, mountains and seas, and plants, those four cocoons rammed Demoness Yin’s body nonstop. She was just one step short of completely clamping on to Tianming, but the appearance of the gigantic cocoons forced her to move away. If she absorbed Ying Huo and the rest into her body, there would be impurities. Hers was a technique she could use only once every three thousand years, so if she took in impurities as a result, she knew it would be over for her. Much like the Starembryo Fiendart, the Sky Starvore Fiendart also had a huge flaw!
Fuck! At least my innocence was maintained! Tianming thought despite the pain he felt all across his body. This was far from conventional intercourse, but he still couldn’t bear to go through it, especially with how hard Feiling had been fighting for him. It was all too fortunate that Ying Huo and the rest had made it in time. The four cocoons fell to the ground and began emanating four powerful types of energy.
“You haven’t died yet?!” Demoness Yin was rather surprised. As far as she knew, lifebound beasts with a star count of around nine hundred thousand would die if they consumed ordered manna of that caliber! Normally, they would collapse dead right away, but these four had survived this long. It was truly unbelievable. But when she took a closer look, she couldn’t help but smirk. “Forget it. Dying’s only a matter of time.”
Tianming, filled with hope, tried to telepathically talk to them. “Did the evolution succeed? How many stars do you have now? Nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand?”
Adding that number of stars all at once was horrifying. He recalled that Ying Huo had started as a one-star beast. How far had it come from those days? It was a Primordial Chaos Beast, so Tianming was confident in their miraculous capabilities. Every time they consumed manna, they did so by pushing their very limits, and they never had issues! Tianming was used to their constant miracles. Once the evolution succeeded, the sheer number of bloodline chains that could be unlocked was nothing to scoff at.
Quick, save me, and go save Ling’er! Despite his hope, he immediately froze the next instant. Ying Huo and the others didn’t answer him. Instead, their cocoons shuddered and they began wailing in agony!
“What’s going on?!” Panic struck like lightning. It seemed that he would fall into a new low right after being narrowly saved.
“It failed. Something went wrong,” Ying Huo said in a coarse, groggy voice. Its every word shook with effort.
“What?!” Tianming’s eyes turned red from tears of blood. It appeared that they hadn’t succeeded. They were only trying to save him one last time, knowing that he would die for sure if they didn’t do anything. “Is it because I rushed you too badly?”
“It has nothing to do with haste. Don’t overthink it. We tried to make a jump that was far too big, so our bodies are feeling the brunt of it,” Ying Huo explained.
“How are you doing now?!”
Demoness Yin could tell that they were struggling, so she didn’t seem the slightest bit worried. It was a great chance to wipe them out.
“The manna wrecked our bodies and messed us up. We didn’t gain any stars and most of our bloodline chains only unlocked halfway, so there isn’t any real effect. Instead, our bodies are still crumbling from the effects of the manna. We won’t be able to hold on at this rate….”
