Chapter 2977 - Final Bloodline Wisteria
Chapter 2977 – Final Bloodline Wisteria
When Yushan Taifeng and Yishker Sayedi left, Yi Daiyan remained hovering in the night sky, her white hair fluttering and her eyes cold. A black-and-gold sword flash appeared in her hand. The Infinitum Stele was the trump card she had used to singlehandedly defeat the Central Shuntian Clan and sanctlighters, burning her strength into the minds of those in the regal clans and earning her permanent deference.
She squinted, noticing a change in the Infinitum Stele. Until recently, it was the main way through which the reges mundi ranking was displayed. It was part of the fusion formation of Ebonia and facilitated Infinitum Duels, a unique feature of Ebonia. Many cultivators engaged in them to raise their ranking.
Normally, fights on the Sun shouldn’t change the results of the reges mundi ranking. However, the recent changes of the Infinitum Stele made it able to observe battles that happened on the Sun. The top ten rankings had changed to reflect them, with the first place belonging to Yi Daiyan, second place belonging to Lin Feng, and third place belonging to Lin Xiaodao.
“Interesting….” While she chuckled at seeing the new rankings, her gaze seemed to be filled with even more worry. Tears welled up in her eyes as the fingers that held the Infinitum Stele shook.
“You lied to me! How cruel of you!” She held the stele in both hands, frost pulsing from her body. Nobody had seen her shed tears before. The colorful tears streaked across her face. “You said that you’d come back for me, but only your son came back, and it’s the one you got with her!”
At the mention of ‘her’, Yi Daiyan’s grip grew even stronger, to the point that her shoulders shook and teeth chattered. “Do you know how horrible I feel when I see him? How can you be so cruel to me, blending the one I love and the one I hate together?! Have you only been toying with me from on high?”
She gradually slumped to the ground, her expression still vacillating between love and hate as the tears flowed.
“Li Muyang!” Her gaze suddenly turned resolute when she said that name. “Very well. Looks like you’re just trying to use your spawn with her to solve your problems and aren’t going to show up any longer. The promise you made will not be fulfilled. You always thought that I’d be obedient no matter how you toyed with me, but everyone’s bound to have a moment when they’re disillusioned!”
Biting her lips, hate began replacing the love in her eyes. She was filled to the brim with it. “I couldn’t bring myself to kill your child, so I tried to get others to do it for me. But you’ve always been so sure that he’d be able to overcome these tribulations. You thought that you could mess with me and control my thoughts? Well, you’re wrong! I’ve been waiting for too long and I can’t believe your promise any longer. If he’s the bet you made, I’ll ruin him with my own hands. Let’s see if you’ll still be able to be so carefree when he finally dies!”
Gripping the sword radiance, she gradually got back up, sharpening her hatred into cold killing intent. She seemed much more terrifying than before.
At that moment, Yushan Taifeng came to give his report. He picked up on the changes in her and didn’t dare to get too close. From a distance, he said, “Rex Mundi, the troops are assembled!”
“March,” Yi Daiyan ordered.
Yushan Taifeng hurriedly nodded. “Understood!”
The black star lit up with the lights of five million divine astralships, illuminating nearly half of the world. The ships rose into the cloudy astralguard formation of Ebonia and voyaged toward the burning Sun not far away.
“It’s the final battle!”
“Hopefully, all this chaos will come to an end. May a new age of peace grace the Infinitum Bodhimanda!”
Ebonia had seen two mass deployments since the battle at Mount Taia, all the way to the internal strife in the Swordgod Lin Clan and the recent series of battles after the Sun had approached Ebonia. The disastrous beast waves had affected every single person in Ebonia, spreading chaos and strife across the world. Even Myriadpath Valley, Intrepidus, and the wonderians had suffered terrible losses. The next thing on the horizon was a clash between a reigning ruler and an upcoming one.
……
All of Ebonia shook when five million astralships set off at once. As the blinding radiance lit up the sky, one blood-colored vine after another burrowed out of the ground, entering villages, settlements, and cities. In a short time, the vines appeared above the ground where humans had settled, some thick, some thin. The thick ones kept splitting into fresh vines. Like little tentacles, they slowly approached every cultivator.
There were no mortals on Ebonia as everyone was born as a normal god, so they were far stronger on average, compared to the denizens of the Sun. Even children were able to fly around. As such, they easily detected the vines around them. “It’s the bloodline wisteria!”
All over the streets in the cities and the wilderness and even within formations, people ran around, telling others that they had seen the bloodline wisteria. But everywhere they went, they saw more of those bloody vines. In some cities, the ground was entirely covered with vines, making it look like a sea of blood red.
In fact, from a higher vantage point, one would be able to see many seas of red appearing on Ebonia’s surface. During the previous appearances of the bloodline wisteria, bloody disasters had followed. This time around, people began to panic and hide. But soon, they found that no matter where they went, the ground was already fully covered with blood-colored vines.
Fortunately, the vines were like normal plants and hadn’t started attacking. They were also easy to destroy, and many people began burning them away. In some cities, bloody smoke filled their formations, turning the air red. Many gods that breathed that smoke in couldn’t help but cough, but nobody thought it was a big deal.
“Damn! The vines smell horrid when they’re burned!”
“I heard others say that the bloodline wisteria is already dead. As its life fades away, it’s turning from wildbeast back into a normal plant. It may look terrifying, but it’s pretty harmless. All we have to do is burn the vines away.”
“Our rex mundi must have killed it!”
“That’s right! Long live Yi Daiyan!”
“She’s truly the pride of our generation!”
