125 Cat Dad in Pangu Church’s Headquarters Dungeon (2)
Chapter 125 – Cat Dad in Pangu Church’s Headquarters Dungeon (2)
Walking along the hallway without being noticed was simple, but the lessons in the classrooms disturbed Xiaomao.
“Pangu is the creator of all lives in the universe!”
“Priests of Pangu Church are the emissaries of Pangu. Whatever they tell you to do, you must follow their instructions without fail!”
“Pleasing the Pangu emissaries is the duty of all followers. Women must dedicate their bodies and souls to Pangu’s emissaries. Whenever they summon you to their resting quarters, you must follow their order.”
“All your wealth belongs to the god. Giving it back to the Pangu Church is a common thing to do.”
“To become a warrior of Pangu Church, you must join the intermediate baptism ritual and accept Pangu’s blessing. But to get that qualification, you must earn the right to become a paladin’s servant and please them with your bodies. Boys are no exception!”
The more Xiaomao heard, the more he wanted the Infinity Stones and a couple of nuclear warheads.
This church deserved to get nuked twice!
After navigating through the long and complex hallways in the west wing for 20 minutes, Xiaomao finally found a door, which led to the inner garden behind the front church.
The only flowers in the garden were white lilies. However, these plants emitted strange vapor and thick Life Qi.
Xiaomao stopped proceeding forward and stared at the center of the garden. A large piece of broken crystal was covered by white lilies. On the top of the Life Essence Crystal was a beast with a dragon-like head and the physique of a muscular hyena, curling and sleeping soundly. Its skin was glossy like refined black Damascus steel, and its claws were longer than Warg Lord.
The name of the monster terrified Xiaomao.
Taotie, Agent of Calamity, Level (????)
It was one of the seven calamitous creatures that would terrorize the game world after the Angler Fish’s emergence. There was no info where Taotie and its minions came from, but they played a major role when the Pangu Church invaded other continents.
The presence of a major boss made Xiaomao nervous. He heightened his sense and concentration, creeping around the garden and avoiding getting closer.
A-CHOOO!
Before Xiaomao could crawl 10 meters, Taotie sneezed. His eyes opened, and his nose twitched.
GROWL
Taotie swiped its running nose and repeatedly shook its head.
RUMBLE
All white lilies in the garden were lightened in flame and turned to ash!
Xiaomao’s tentacles sensed the intense burning pain from the ground, but he didn’t dare to move. He slowly brought out HP potions and drank them, refusing to move from the spot.
SNIFF
Taotie raised his nose and sniffed the air.
“I must be hungry. The burning lilies smell like a cooked octopus.”
The beast snorted and closed his eyes, continuing to sleep.
The flame dispersed as if there were nothing else to burn. The stone floor was heated and turned red like burning charcoal.
Xiaomao endured the burning pain and crawled through the school building wall, getting away from the burning stone tiles in the garden.
The tips of his tentacles were so cooked that Xiaomao had the urge to eat himself. Fortunately, the potions worked and restored the burnt limps. He managed to move again.
The trip that should have taken 2 minutes ended up taking half an hour. Xiaomao moved on the walls to get to the other side of the garden without getting closer to Taotie.
After reaching the wall of the east wing building, the catopus slipped down and opened the door, which connected to the east wing building.
As soon as Xiaomao opened the door, Taotie muttered.
“Since you’re polite and didn’t make noise, I’ll forgive you for trespassing my domain, but I can’t let you get out for free. Leave some food in front of the door and scram.”
Every fur of Xiaomao and his tail straightened in fear. Instantly and without hesitation, he put a 20 kg package of Rhino Shark meat on the ground. Then, he turned around in a hurry, opened the door, and gently closed it without making any noise.
Taotie knew he was there!
After the door was closed, Xiaomao could still hear Taotie’s voice in his mind.
‘Such exquisite food you have there. Well, since you’re more likable than a certain three-eye pretentious bastard. I’ll give you a blessing for the exceptional offering.’
DING
<Taotie likes your manner and your tribute. Current Favorability: 1 Star.>
<Taotie has blessed you.>
<Your Dark Spiritual Root has permanently increased by 100.>
<Your dark spell, Stinger (Common), has evolved into Poisonous Stinger (Uncommon).>
Xiaomao was taken aback. He thought that all calamity agents were aggressive beasts, but Taotie seemed generous.
‘Come back if you have more rare fish. Oh, raise your dark element affinity, you dumb cat. Your spiritual roots are so imbalanced that it pains me to look at you. Curses, poisons, and destruction are my forte. If you bring more good fish to me, I’ll teach you good dark spells.’
Xiaomao’s eyes brightened. He turned around and bowed to Taotie, who was on the other side of the door.
“Thank you, sir. I’ll be back when I have a new offering, munya!”
‘Good. Now, get lost. I want to sleep.’
“Yes, sir, munya!”
Xiaomao dashed into the hallway of the east wing building without looking back.
.
After running for a minute, Xiaomao looked back and sweated profusely.
The blessing and the spell upgrade were a windfall. However, it didn’t shake the feeling of dread and fear. If possible, he wouldn’t come here again and risk his life.
Entering the east wing building through the backyard garden might have been a fatal mistake. He could have lost all his precious ultra-rare and legendary items there had Taotie been hostile.
Xiaomao swiped the sweaty fur on his forehead. His fur was still hard and straight, but all of them were soaked by his sweat.
He looked back and found that he left a long trail on a wet floor.
‘Motherhumper. I almost had a heart attack.’
Xiaomao shook his body, splashing water everywhere. Then, he resumed his camouflage skill and proceeded forward.
.
A minute later, a paladin level 180 came out of the training field. He still wore his uniform and armor, including metal armor shoes and a metal helmet.
In the training field, the ground was made of hard dirt, and the paladin had no problem walking around with steel shoes. But when he entered the hallway, which floor was made of refined marble, the steel shoes couldn’t provide enough traction for walking, and he always slipped if he wasn’t careful.
Because of the slipperiness, the paladin knelt and was about to take off his shoes.
Meanwhile, a level-200 fat ugly priest passed by. He came from the inner area of the east wing building, pushing a cart of raw meat toward the backyard garden.
When the priest saw the kneeling paladin, he scolded him.
“Paladin. What are you doing?”
“Priest? Oh, I’m taking off my shoes.”
“Don’t change your attire here. Go back to the training field and change it there.”
“But I don’t want to mess the hallway with dirt.”
“Meh, you will dirty the hallway regardless. Get back to the training field and change your shoes!”
“But I don’t have spare shoes.”
“Tsk! Fine. Come back with a mop and clean up your mess.”
The priest snorted and continued pushing the food cart to the garden.
After the priest had left, the paladin scoffed in frustration.
“I should have the higher authority than the priests. Why do I have to bow to those pedophile fools?”
Because of his frustration, he took off his shoes and stomped away, leaving black footprints on the white marble floor.
Walking forward a few steps, his bare feet stepped onto the wet floor and slid forward. His two legs made a split, which tore a few tendons and muscle fibers.
The paladin cried in pain, and his HP dropped by 10%. He crawled on the floor and cursed the priest, blaming him for wetting the floor.
“BASTARD! I SWEAR I’LL GET BACK AT YOU ONE OF THESE DAYS!”
.
Xiaomao was annoyed.
The east wing was a crowded area. Level-180 paladins and level-200 priests patrolled in the building in groups. Although no elite paladin or priest was present, their natural aura and presence intimidated Xiaomao.
Because of their sharp senses and the level difference, Xiaomao had no choice but to travel by crawling on the walls or the ceiling, avoiding their lines of sight.
As there was no map, Xiaomao spent another 10 minutes, searching for the library. Fortunately, the eastern wing was a one-story building, and Xiaomao managed to locate it.
The library was only 100 meters away from the previous church’s door, which the group and Meng Xin had entered earlier. Xiaomao slipped into the library when a priest pushed the door open.
Upon getting inside the library room, Xiaomao was stunned. Instead of seeing a small library in a one-story building, this spacious library’s interior looked like something from Hogwarts or Harvard.
It was massive. The height of the ceiling was at least 10-story high, which was illogical for a one-story building!
At the center of the library, a 100-meter tall crystal floated still, rotating while hovering in the air and providing Life Essence to the room.
Xiaomao widened his eyes in shock as he recognized the crystal.
‘That’s the crystal from the pylon tower! Why is it here?!’
