Cathulhu Online, MUNYA!

137 Cat Dad’s New Troublesome Task

Chapter 137 – Cat Dad’s New Troublesome Task

Looking at the dark orb, Xiaomao was reminded of the sprites from Bit Tupeer’s mansion. However, the item description said otherwise.

.

Purified Spirit of Torrent

After being purified by Refined Entity Crystal, the spirit of Torrent is freed from all curses. However, because of the ongoing war between Pangu and Chaos Demons, Torrent cannot pass on. Only immortals and deities who master karmic arts can do something about him.

Bring the spirit orb to someone who knows about Karma, and you might be able to learn more about Samsara River, Karma, and Spirits.

Item Type: Quest Item

Rarity: Unknown

*[?????? Instinct]: Karma, Samsara River, and related quests are exclusive for immortals and deities. You’re not ready for this.

*[Foresight]: Give it to Cernun, and you should be able to resurrect Torrent and learn about Karma. Never show it to Magdalene or Shepherd, or they might steal this slave from you!

.

In Xiaomao’s retainer status menu, Torrent’s name was still there, but there was a red cross on his name. The detail said he was deceased, and Xiaomao could now remove him from the list.

Xiaomao left the menu as it was. He looked around and searched for the remnants of Torrent’s subordinates.

Fortunately, the skeletons were so panicked that they ran away from Xiaomao. Some of them got on their ships and sailed away while many disappeared into the sea.

Seeing that the situation was resolved, Xiaomao thought of what to do next.

‘Should I finish whatever I’ve started in Siren City first, or should I go back to Cernun first?’

Remembered that he had left Shepherd and Lucky in town, Xiaomao chose to go back and pick them up first. As for the matter about the Galleon and the emperor’s edict, he would think about it later.

“I’m heading back to Siren City, munya. What are you going to do?” Xiaomao turned to Bush and the crowd that he had rescued.

Bush glanced at the group of helpless people. He rubbed his chin as if he had an idea.

“These people are the important eyewitnesses. I will bring them directly to Yuan Palace and testify against the church. Well, we still have to return to Siren City anyway.”

“I see. Let’s go there together, munya!”

Bush sighed, “I’m afraid it won’t be easy. We don’t even know where we are, and we have elders and children among them. This journey might take months.”

“Who said anything about traveling anywhere on foot, munya?”

Xiaomao burst into laughter as he brought out the ship deed from his inventory. One of them was for a cog ship while the other one was a frigate.

The deed was the same type as the fishing boat deed that Xiaomao had bought from Seaside Town’s shipbuilder NPC. Any player could use them and summon a real ship in the deed’s image to use, and the owner of the ship could convert the ship back into a deed as long as the durability was in perfect shape.

As there were many people here, a small cog ship for 10 crews could not fit all of them. Thus, Xiaomao put the cog ship deed into his inventory and used the frigate deed.

A new black frigate appeared in the sky and dropped to the sea. Again, Xiaomao felt like he had used a car-summoning code in a GTA game because the ship magically appeared out of nowhere.

Ironically, the ship looked the same as Wellerboy, which Xiaomao had stolen from Torrent.

DING

<Please name your ship.>

Now, the fun part, Xiaomao could exhibit his ingenious naming sense once again.

“Slave Boat, munya!”

<The ship will be named [Slave Boat Munya]. Is that okay?>

“NO, MUNYA! Cut that munya part!”

<The ship will be named [Slave Boat]. Is that okay?>

Xiaomao’s mouth curved up. He opened his mouth and was about to confirm the name.

At that moment, the corner of his eyes saw the ugly expression on Bush and the rescued people’s faces. They didn’t seem to approve of the ship’s name.

Xiaomao was disappointed. He thought that it was good enough for a slave ship since he had planned to capture boss monsters to become the new ship’s crewmates.

Since Slave Boat was not good, Xiaomao picked another name.

“No. Cancel that, munya.”

<Affirmative. Please name your ship.>

Xiaomao took a deep breath and thought of the auspicious name for a ship.

“Titanic the Second, munya!”

<The ship will be named [Titanic II]. Is that okay?>

“Of course, munya!”

DING

On the hull of the port’s side, white words [Titanic II] appeared. The ship’s cabins, floor, handrails, and masts turned white while the hull remained black.

Xiaomao admired the new look of his new frigate. At the same time, he had a headache.

Now, he had two active battleships and one in the making!

‘I only want one ship. How come I end up with three? What the hell?’

Despite the complaints, Xiaomao still needed the galleon as its specialized storage rooms were necessary for the future sea adventure. After all, the Mermaid Kingdom couldn’t upgrade frigates or weaker ships, but the galleon-class battleships.

“Let’s board the ship and go back to Siren City, munya!”

.

Without the crews, Xiaomao and Bush handled the ship. It took them six hours to reach Siren City. By the time they arrived, the sun was setting.

Xiaomao was dying to log out and feed the cats. He wondered how Mu-Nyang, Mir, Nyanko, and mama cat were doing.

When Titanic II approached the port, Magdalene was the first to welcome him. She flew from Wellerboy and landed on Xiaomao’s head.

<Magdalene is surprised by your new ship. She is curious where you get it.>

“Of course, from my 1337 skills!”

Magdalene tilted her head and counted her fingers, unable to understand the gaming jargon.

The new frigate docked next to Wellerboy. Then, Bush guided the church’s victims down the ship.

The 100 rescued NPCs obediently followed Bush to the city. The old butler bid Xiaomao farewell and parted way. As soon as Bush and the 100 NPCs left, the Siren City’s soldiers came to see them and escorted them to the palace.

Xiaomao didn’t follow them to the palace. He turned to Titanic II and opened the ship’s menu.

DING

<Will you convert Titanic II to a Ship Deed?>

This was a feature of the game. Unlike Wellerboy, Xiaomao could always convert the item into a deed paper, which was easier to transport or hide the ship.

As for Wellerboy, it was not a deed item. Thus, it couldn’t be stored in his inventory.

“Go back to Shepherd, Mag. I have something else to do, munya!”

Magdalene pouted and flew back to Wellerboy. Xiaomao looked at her while she was leaving.

Checking on Wellerboy, Xiaomao didn’t see Shepherd and the crew. Curious, he checked the retainer menu to see everybody’s location.

Shepherd and his teammates were shown to be in the city. It seemed that Magdalene was left behind to guard the ship while the men went out to play.

Xiaomao clicked his tongue. He would punish Shepherd for disobeying his order later. He looked at Lucky’s status next.

Like a trained dog, Lucky’s detail showed that she was inside an inn. The report said that she was idle for over 6 hours.

‘Aw… Now, I feel bad.’

Thinking of Lucky, Xiaomao rode on the flying sword to the inn, where he had told Lucky and her team to be on standby.

.

When Xiaomao arrived at the city plaza, the sun had gone down. The capital city was illuminated by streetlights, flying light balls, and magic lamps.

Players went on with their businesses. Some of them gathered at the city plaza, where the fake grail was. They made noises and invited passing-by players if they wanted to join their raid parties.

On the other hand, the priests of the Pangu Church were nowhere in sight. The church was quiet, and no light was on. Wandering players ignored the building, thinking that they were closed for the day.

Being invisible, Xiaomao flew over the players. Some of them saw the transparent figure, but they ignored him.

Without any obstruction, Xiaomao arrived at an inn, where Lucky and the team were waiting.

Xiaomao didn’t bother asking the innkeeper or the receptionist where they were. He followed the detail on his game menu and stopped in front of a room on the third floor.

The catopus tried to open the door, but it was locked.

He knocked on the door.

“It’s me, munya! Lucky, are you in there?”

THUD!

Someone or something inside caused a loud thud. Even Xiaomao could hear it from outside.

CLICK

A moment later, the door was opened. Lucky, who was wearing nothing but a bath towel, smiled at Xiaomao.

Xiaomao averted his eyes from the leaking assets of Lucky. They were round, perfectly bouncy, and slightly wet. The smell of soap and shampoo also put him in a trance.

“Master! Come inside, quick!”

“Hmm?”

Lucky pulled the cat into the room. She closed the door and locked it.

Before Xiaomao could react, Lucky tossed away Xiaomao’s flying sword and put him on the bed. She leaned toward him, panting and wagging her tail.

“I’m ready, master. You can partake of me anytime!”

“…”

“Or, would you like a dinner or a bath first? If you want to take a bath, we can do it in there.”

“…”

Xiaomao’s tentacle went into the game menu inventory, fetching for a baseball bat to bonk this horny gnoll girl. However, his trusty tool had already been discarded to make rooms for Torrent’s items.

“Uh-Oh.”
