Chapter 196 – Last Game Of The Day: Playing Different Roles (2)
"Ms. Claire is too modest. You have taken the first kill even though you have only three items!" Jing Jing expressed while mentally clapping. Her mage character was still in the middle lane and continued to kill the last two creeps.
This first kill from Claire had been habitual to the team. But since Jing Jing was still new, she felt very excited. Since her hands were busy, she could only make applause in her thoughts.
Stephen's assassin continued to roam and already got ahead of the rest. He was almost full build. Once an assassin could freely get buff and earn gold, it would naturally gain insane damage and would be advantageous to the group.
As for Joey's tank, since Stephen had enough damage, he decided to move to the top lane and joined Clark. Initially, he wanted to assist Claire.. But, after the first blood, he knew that Claire can play on the bottom lane alone.
"You haven't figured the combo of your fighter character, bro?" Joey asked while observing Clark's attacks.
A combo meant a combination of steps of skills to use consequently during the attack to maximize the gameplay.
Every character in the game had a different ideal combo that a player could use depending on their gaming style. And it could also be used in a group clash such as chain stun from mage to the fighter to the marksman to finish off an enemy easily.
"I'm just guessing here and there. Still experimenting with this character's skills. Right now, I'm using the second skill to buff the speed and then the first skill to deal damage," Clark replied.
Joey nodded his head. "That is also good. But you can't kill an opponent by using that two skills only."
"What is the right combination of skills for this character? Hehe, tell me so I can practice," Clark eagerly asked.
This time, their enemy was missing on the top lane. So the two of them easily attacked the tower after their creeps marched forward to the territory of the enemy.
"If there is an enemy later, the combo should naturally start at the ultimate skill to toss your enemy. Then, use the passive attack and follow it with the first skill, this way, you can immobilize the enemy for two minutes. The first skill will give one second of stun while the passive will trigger to duplicate the effect. After that, you can continue to use your passive skills until the enemy is dead. If it's still alive, use your second skill to buff your speed and chase the enemy to finish it off," Joey thoroughly explained to Clark and even described every effect of the fighter skills.
"Ohh… Okay, I will try that," Clark agreed.
"Where are the enemy guys? The top lane is abnormally unguarded," Joey alerted all of them. They have now destroyed the opponent's initial tower of defense. They pursued the second tower, and no one tried to interrupt them.
"The mage enemy is in middle lane. But, I did not notice other players here," Jing Jing immediately answered. She maintained the defensive gameplay and was still trying to evaluate the opponent in front of her.
"They are at the bottom lane, waiting to ambush me," Claire responded.
For a skilled assassin player, Claire was undoubtedly the master of ambushing her target. Even if she did not have visibility of her opponents, her instinct was more than enough to determine if there was danger in her lane.
"Let me teleport in the bottom lane. Let's go, Clark. It's time to apply the combo that I told you," Joey said and quickly used his teleportation skill towards the location of Claire.
In just a few seconds, Joey's tank stood near Claire's archer.
"Where are you, Clark! Come!" Joey called again after realizing that their fighter was still on the top lane.
"I don't have teleport. Let me just run to the bottom lane real quick," Clark stated and consequently used the speed buff of the fighter's second skills. In the river of the map, his character swiftly dashed from the top lane to the middle lane and then finally arrived at the bottom lane.
"Where are they hiding, Claire? Have you noticed their shadows?" Joey asked while trying to check the mini-map on the front left side of his mobile screen. His index finger tapped to several locations but there were no signs of the enemy too.
"If my prediction is right, there should be three enemies here. They are hiding on the grass just beside that wall on the right side," Claire replied. Her eyelids fluttered twice as her archer continued to shoot the creeps.
"I will try to hook the grass and see if I can catch! Hahaha," Joey excitedly said and cast the skill to the grass. Those three enemies quickly ran away seeing that his tank character was executing a pattern of movements that would hint to those enemies that a hook will soon be cast.
"Ohh!!! I was too slow to use the hook. They noticed me. Sofia is really good at using this character. It's so hard to even use the hook without the enemy noticing the animation effect," Joey lamented after his hook returned to his side empty. "Nevermind, let's chase them. Clark, use your second skill to run fast and toss one enemy here," he quickly commanded.
On the side of their enemy, the three players gnashed their teeth in anger. They were so excited to ambush Claire's marksman and were waiting for her to enter the range of their tower.
They plan to use the same attack that she utilized to get the first blood. But, who would have thought that Claire's companion would suddenly emerge on her side?
Their ambush plan was instantly scrambled even before they could execute it.
"Damn! They found us!" the fighter user said while turning away.
"This must be a new map hack!" one of their opponents accused right away.
"Hah! That's true! How did they noticed that we are hiding on the grass other than relying on cheat?!" the tank player protested.
This time, game cheats started to spread but the developers of the game were also quick to ban those accounts that were caught hacking. And the gaming company have placed additional software to prevent hacking.
However, with the numbers of users growing rapidly to play the game, new hacks and cheats were also bound to emerge.
Clark's fighter moved at an abnormal pace that he quickly got closer to the marksman enemy.
"Craaaaap! That thrower's speed will catch us up… Ah! Hurry! Hurry! Retreat!" their marksman user instantly pressed a button and flickered right away to avoid being thrown back to the enemy's side.
After the marksman find an escape route, the fighter was left behind.
"Sh*t! Not again!!!" the fighter user said. His screen moved to an angle that gave him the perspective of the ground while his body was suspended in the air.
Clark's fighter indeed caught him and throw him directed to the side of Joey. Before the enemy could land on the ground, a chain of attacks that produced arrows from Claire's archer followed to strike him.
"Good, Clark! You have used the ultimate skill of the thrower perfectly! Nice!" Joey praised Clark for executing the skill well. Being the expert in using a fighter character, Joey also knew that it's not simple to use the ultimate skill of the thrower.
While the three of them were finishing off this enemy, Stephen's assassin was also pursuing those two others who tried to find an escape. They had not noticed Stephen so when they turned to the jungle area, they were greeted with countless swords that quickly drained their HPs.
Double Kill!
"Aww, you have executed that role well, Steph!" Joey stated after the notification of two successive kills followed to appear on their screen.
"So basic. I am full build now. Only one hit and my critical damage is enough to end their lives!" Stephen grinned and all of them laugh at this remarks.
"You cheaters! We will report you to the GM after this match!" the fighter user that had just gotten his second death was beyond irritated. He suddenly yelled in front of his mobile phone. His eyes were glaring coldly at Claire's archer.
Nothing could appease him for he felt that it was too unfair to have cheaters on the game. This player even got the urge to throw his phone across his desk. His feelings were surely valid but his accusation was completely wrong.
"Bro, calm down! This is just a random game," His companions tried to console him.
"Hmmph! Make sure that you guys also report them for cheat, okay?" the man persisted.
"Okay, okay…. do you still want to continue this match? I think it's pointless to play… We can just concede. Anyway, if they are cheating, there is no chance for us to win. We will just waste our time," the tank user commented.
"Yeah, let's end this unfair play and teach these hackers some lesson," the fighter agreed. He then took the initiative to issue the surrender and the group quickly voted yes for it.
"That was rather an unsatisfactory game. Why did they concede? One more match?" Joey complained and hinted to his members to play again. This last game of the day does not feel to be the last one at all if the result was too easy.
"Uhh… my parents will be here anytime soon," Claire reminded them. Even if they were unwilling to stop playing, they had no choice.
