Chapter 318 – Assumptions

"Hmm? Has it been an hour already? Then, let's go back!" Jing Jing spoked and pulled Danny again.

He was almost dragged by her. Fortunately, Danny was tall and had long legs to match Jing Jing's quick steps easily. But after a minute of walking, he abruptly stooped causing Jing Jing to stop too.

"What is it?" Jing Jing looked behind with a worried expression on her face. She was concerned that Raul and his group may have chased them with malicious interest. At this point, it seemed as if Jing Jing had forgotten the infamous reputation of Danny too. All she cared was for them not to be troubled by the group that she encountered.

"Ms. Jing, what are you looking there?" Danny inquired and looked in the direction where she was facing.

"I'm checking if they are following us! Those people had surely scared me to death!" she stated with a dramatic expression on her face. Her eyes wandered but Danny could only see a glint of wildness in her eyes.

"What did they do? Ms. Jing, perhaps what you felt in not fear? But the rush of excitement for such uncommon experience with your encounter earlier?" Danny pointed out. No matter how he looked at her, and even if Jing Jing claimed to be scared by those people, he never saw the frightened expression on her face.

"No way! I was too scared that my heart almost stopped beating!" Jing Jing insisted.

Danny deliberately raised one of his eyebrows. 'Ms. Jing surely likes to exaggerate,' he secretly commented.

"I don't seem to see the trace of fear in your face? Maybe you misunderstood what you felt?" he directly stated.

Jing Jing scratched her head and formed her lips into a thin line. She subconsciously pouted and was unable to form a word to respond to the man.

Seeing that she was speechless, Danny took a step to the side and sighed. "Ms. Jing, in fact, Miss Sofa wanted to help you check the location of the property too. Could you tell me where is it?"

"About the property… I can't see any for sale around here. I will talk to Miss Sofia about it," Jing Jing said and started walking on her own. This time, she did not pull Danny and left the man standing in his spot.

Yet, before their distance became farther, Danny started walking and reaching on her side. They walked together in silence.

"Jing Jing!" Rica's voice sounded from the crowd of people falling in line. This was the second time that the lady had called her. It was a bit unusual for when they parted earlier, Rica emphasized that she was still working in the dining business and they would not disturb her anymore.

Still, Jing Jing waved a hand at the couple but did not intend to chat. She just gave them a friendly smile and continued to walk.

However, to Jing Jing's surprise, Rica intended to have a conversation with her again.

"EHEM! Jing Jing, why don't you introduce us to the fine man beside you?" Rica initiated. Her voice was loud enough that it also attracted the other press groups that were filming across the road.

"Uhm… W-Well, this is Danny. We work under the same boss," Jing Jing ambiguously replied.

"Hehe, I'm Rica and this is my boyfriend, Maxwell. We are Jing Jing's close best friends!" Rica introduced herself before Jing Jing could do it.

Danny did not speak a word. He just slightly nodded his head to acknowledge them. The expression on his face somehow turned distant and cold.

When Jing Jing noticed the man's unfriendly expression, she was finally reminded of his reputation. Jing Jing raised her hand and hit her temple. 'Which spirit had possessed my body to make me act boldly towards Danny!'

Now, she just reflected her emotions earlier was actually a bit strange too. 'How could I be scared with that group of men when they were even afraid of the Double Sigma Fraternity!? I even dragged Danny out thinking that it was the best thing to do to avoid getting hurt!' 

Jing Jing was completely immersed with her reflection that her eyes just stared blankly in space. Rica raised her hand and waved near her face. Then, she casually pushed Jing Jing's shoulder and spoke in a teasing tone, "Jing Jing, you seemed to be caught in a deep trance? Hehe… what are you thinking so deeply?"

"Ahahaha… I am reflecting on my mistake! Rica, Maxwell, we will go inside first. There is still some important matter that we have to do!" Jing Jing quickly replied and dashed forward without waiting for Rica to respond.

Danny just eyed them before he also walked behind Jing Jing.

"If that man is Jing Jing's new boyfriend… I don't approve of him! He is not friendly at all!" Rica snickered and complained to Maxwell.

Maxwell just look at the back of Danny and stared at him until he entered the establishment. "He is indeed a character."

"Hon, what do you mean? Do you know him?" Rica curiously, perhaps just making a random conversation between them. They had been standing outside and had lost all the interesting topics of conversation. Seeing Jing Jing had returned with a man on her side, Rica did not hesitate to get the opportunity to call her.

"I could not say I know him. But, he is a frat leader," Maxwell answered right away.

"A frat leader?! Then, Jing Jing is involved in a fraternity?" Rica could not help but voice out her assumption.

But, Maxwell only shook his head. "Jing did not confirm any relationship with the man, hon. She only told us that they work under the same boss. So, it's hard to tell if she is involved in a fraternity."

In his mind, being involved in a fraternity would never be that simple. Much more if it was the Double Sigma Fraternity.

"Ahh.. that's right. But, I saw that Jing Jing was holding the man and pulling him when they were walking. That is rather close. I have never seen Jing Jing acting so close with another man. Not even to that ex of hers!" Rica defended and looked Maxwell in the eye. The man only smiled at her and did not dwell on the topic.

On the other side, Jing Jing marched her way towards the kitchen area, expecting to see Sofia there. But the place was empty. Not even a single staff was there.

Danny also arrived after a while and realized the same thing as her. "Miss Sofia said that she would discuss the parking space once we return. But, she is not here?" he mumbled.

"Maybe your brother knows where she went?" Jing Jing suggested and quickly walked back to the front desk.

Danny did not follow her anymore. The man went to the back door and visited the garden that had just made.

"Derek, did Miss Sofia tell where she would go?" Jing Jing casually asked the man that was leisurely sitting in front of his computer.

"Ms. Jing Jing, is something wrong?" Danny inquired back.

"Nothing's wrong. I just have a few things to speak with Miss Sofia," Jing Jing answered with an expectant gaze in her eyes.

  "Ohh… I was busy here earlier. She didn't tell me anything. But, I saw her go on the second floor, Maybe she want to survey the decoration for the wedding?" Derek informed her.

"Ohh.. right!" Jing Jing smiled. "Only Miss Sofia can be this thoughtful and thorough with everything!" she added.

Admittedly, Jing Jing was too focused on their dining business and dealing with the reservation of their customers. She had forgotten that there was another important business that was happening on the second floor.

"Miss Sofia really knows how to manage everything! At such young age, she is very capable of multi-tasking! Even I, with my age and experience in the real world…  am not a match of her ability!" Jing Jing whispered her admiration why started walking to the stairs leading to the second floor.

When Jing Jing reached the location, she paused in complete awe. The place looked so ethereal. The entire place was decorated with flowers and ribbons. 

And when she looked closely, she saw that the flowers that the decorators used were in fact… real!

"WOW! What an enchanted theme!" Jing Jing's eyes sparkled at the scene. She watched while Sofia was helping others to put another dozen of flowers on the corners of the place.

But, after hearing her voice, Sofia looked up to see her and smiled, "Sister Jing, you are back! How is it?"

"Miss Sofia, it's strange but I did not find any property that is for sale around here! But, I have another area. My friend, Maxwell, if you remember him? He told me to make a parking space underneath," Jing Jing stated.

"Maxwell gave you an idea on how to deal with the parking space?" Sofia curiously asked while the appearance of the man crossed her mind.
