Chapter 50 - Lunch Meet Up (2)
Chapter 50 – Lunch Meet Up (2)
"Clark, can you suggest for a good place that we should eat for lunch? If possible, pull some of your family connections. We must give due courtesy to our friends. They have helped us with our preparation in this tournament," Sofia asked Clark. Since the boy had a much higher social status than all of them, she knew that his taste in dining accommodations should be above theirs as well.
'Pull some of your family connections?!' Claire mentally exclaimed. She was startled and almost dropped her jaw after listening to Sofia's instruction. She had never heard Sofia speak like that before.
"I have an uncle that runs a buffet restaurant. I will try to see if he can accommodate us in his place," Clark nodded his head.
He also understood what Sofia wanted him to do. The Chronos squad had to treat the players from the FAB_Gamers squad accordingly for they had spent their times just to gave their squad a practice match. And there was part of Clark that was also excited to meet the squad and dine with them.
"I hope we can get a reservation for lunch," Sofia mumbled.
After a minute of contacting his uncle, Clark confirmed their restaurant reservation, "Yes, please. Lunch. Table for eight and we are on our way. Just place it under the reservation of the Chronos. Thank you! See ya! Bye!"
"Nice!" Sofia gave a thumbs up to Clark after she heard the confirmation of their reservation.
She was quite bothered that they might have a hard time finding a decent place since the day was also a special occasion for couples.
Mostly, establishments would not cater to a last-minute reservation as it would be already fully booked.
"Where are we going to meet them?" Joey asked while crossing his legs and arms.
"They will come here. And then, we can go to the establishment together," Sofia replied. She then looked around and observed the people in the audience side.
"I will contact my driver for our transportation," Clark announced. His excitement had gone to another level that it had influenced his face.
"Clark, you looked flustered!" Claire pat his head and was about to mess his hair again.
"Tsk! Stop," Clark muttered and carefully grabbed Claire's wrist while waiting for his call to be connected.
He stared at her as if memorizing every detailed of her face. Such gaze was too intense that Claire gulped and looked away.
Just as Claire expected him to let go of her wrist, Clark just smirked and leaned closer to her instead. "One day, I'll let you messed up my hair style however you want, Claire. When that day comes, you will also let me do yours…" he whispered on her ears before she heard someone spoke a greeting on his phone. Clark abruptly halted and finally paid attention on the person he was calling… "Yeah, its me…"
Claire glanced at her tiny wrist enclosed by Clark's fingers. She slowly pulled her hand but Clark firmly held it. "Let go of my wrist, Clark."
"No, you'll make my hair messy," Clark casually replied after his phone call ended.
"I'm not going to mess up your hair," Claire stated but Clark only shook his head, refusing to release her hand.

Stephen stood from his seat and joined Sofia from looking. "Do you know their faces?" he casually inquired.
Sofia nearly jumped by the distance of the man's voice behind her. She could sense that Stephen was speaking closer to her ears. Their proximity was too close that she felt her personal space was already evaded by the man.
She looked up and confirmed her hunch. Stephen was really standing closely behind her!
"I haven't seen them in real life," Sofia whispered but her voice was totally clear for Stephen to hear.
For some reason unknown to her, she could feel her heartbeat suddenly became rapid.
"Hmmn," Stephen hummed and looked at the jawline of the lady in front of her. As if he was compelled by some kind of guts, he raised his hands and gently traced the red spots near her ears.
"AHH! Don't touch my pimples! You are making these civilizations worse!" Sofia pouted and glared at him. "I already told you not to touch it," she groaned and looked away.
"Hehehe," Stephen just chuckled before he put his hands on the pocket of his jeans.
"It should be them," Sofia told Stephen while her eyes were directed at the three figures a few meters away from them.
"How did you know that it was them?" Stephen mumbled. The three figures were wearing shades and looked simple in his eyes. Hence, he was curious why Sofia thought that it was the famous members of the FAB_Gamers squad.
"They looked respectable," Sofia directly answered without looking at him.
"What?! How could those figures look respectable? They are just wearing shirts and jeans!" Stephen slightly laughed at her direct response. Somehow, he felt that Sofia's words do not make sense in his mind.
"I meant the air around them. Not the clothes they are wearing," Sofia playfully glared at Stephen before she waved her hands at the three figures.
Stephen could only scratch the back of his head as he became more confused.
The lady may have not seen the FAB_Gamers players, but Sofia had gained the ability to identify notable people despite their simplistic appearance.
It was a skill in her past life. As a CEO, she had dealt with various kind of individuals with simple characters but were actually the owner of a grand business.
At one glance, Sofia quickly recognized the three FAB_Gamers players even though they were still walking a few meters away from their booths.
WINS also waved his hand and smiled at them.
"Hi! Finally, we meet!" WINS grinned at Sofia and offered a handshake when his group arrived at their booth.
"Yes, glad to meet you!" Sofia gave the three men a friendly smile.
She extended her hand for the handshake, but before she could take the man's hand, Stephen intercepted and already shook it!
Sofia blinked her eyes and secretly nudged at Stephen using her elbow. The man ignored her signal and introduced the group instead.
"I'm Stephen, you must be the famous WINS?! We are glad to see you, guys!" Stephen started.
"Yes, I am. And these are my two teammates," WINS simply replied. He had taken the hint from Stephen's gesture. The man did not need to speak his intention. It was all clear to him.
"Hi, guys! Great performance on the first elimination round! It was so OP!" the man that was standing on WINS left side waved his hand and greeted them.
"You guys are like monsters back there! Good teamwork!" the other man on the right side offered a friendly smile.
"Cool! You guys are also part of our progress. It's our honor to meet our seniors! This is Sofia, our squad leader. Then, that guy is Clark. He is a dying fan of your squad. The lady beside him is Claire and then Joey." Stephen continuously introduced them with no regard of any formality.
"Hello," the four members including Sofia said in chorus.
After a minute of exchanging pleasantries, they decided to head out of the gymnasium.
"Alright! Let's go! We made a reservation for our lunch," Sofia announced and the group proceeded towards the exit of them gymnasium.
