Chapter 54 - FAB_Gamers' Evaluation
Chapter 54 – FAB_Gamers’ Evaluation
"AHH, my stomach is full! I have eaten a lot!" WINS companion chuckled while rubbing his belly. He then adjusted his seatbelt and sat comfortably.
"Even with my income in the pro scene, I would not be able to afford to have lunch in such a luxurious place again! Meeting the Chronos squad is a blessing!" the other companion grinned.
In the rearview mirror, WINS looked at the five figures that were standing on the side of the pavement until their car took a turn and he lost sight of the Chronos squad members.
"Boss WINS, are we going to fly back tonight? The director said that something came up. I think this is about the Chronos squad," one of his companions informed WINS.
"My guess is that the director might want to invite them to join our company. What do you think, boss? Maybe he wanted us to recruit the Chronos players?" the other one commented on the possibility.
In his mind, he thought that since the squad was trending all over the internet, it would an additional points to their reputation if Sofia's team would be part of the FAB_Gamers.
"I don't think they would want to join our company. But if the director would insist, he needed to approach Sofia directly," WINS directly replied.
"Boss, you can't just say it like that! That is our director!"
"Yes. The director had never approached any gamer to join our company. It's always the players who need to apply and undergo training!"
His companion simultaneously defended but WINS only shrugged his shoulder and glanced at the highway. "The Chronos squad is different," he softly said.
In his mind, he had a different image whenever he thought of the squad.
A gamer like WINS, his only vision is about the game. How to make a new team strategy. Which character would be a good to team up. The game updates and other things. This kind of idea was always in his head.
But after meeting the players of the Chronos squad personally, he could tell that the group had a different plan. Their members may have been starting to enter the pro scene, but he could sense that it was not the limit of the group. There was something more…
"Speaking of our director… Boss WINS, that Chronos squad leader is like the young version of the director of our company." his companion chirped after the long silence.
"I didn't notice. In your mind, what is their similarity?" WINS formed his lips in a line and looked at the man.
He saw his companion tilted his head slightly and looked at the ceiling of the car. Then, the man opened his mouth but was hesitant to speak.
After few breaths, the man finally replied, "AHHM, Well, I am not sure… but they have the same overbearing aura. I mean, Sofia is not strict but there is an air of authority around her."
The other companion crossed his legs and instantly voiced out his opinion, "I also think the same. That Sofia, whenever she spoke, it felt like its already absolute. You know that moments in the game, when a tank would signal to dive into the tower and the allies would leap right away without questioning the command of the tank? Its weird but I can sense that vibe in her."
"You are right, bro! That's the exact vibe I am also imagining! I think Sofia can make any person listen to her ideas and not question her words. Although, if we compare to our director closely, Sofia is more approachable. But, I bet if she grows older, she would also have the same attitude as our director." the first one to open the subject of comparison stated in full of confidence.
"Yes, they are still young. I mean, we are not old but they are younger than us and they already have this kind of character. It's admirable." the second one agreed.
WINS listened to his companion's assessments attentively. It is not that they were judging the group, it was more like they were evaluating the characters of every member with deep respect.
His face revealed a great amusement since it was such a rare thing to see these two members regard highly on some outsiders of their squad.
"What else have you notice on their team?" WINS asked further.
"The way they talk to us, it does not seem like they are hungry for success or fame. Instead, it was like they are confident to obtain success." his companion continued. A comical expression can be read on his feature while remembering their lunch conversations with the squad.
"Huh? Isn't that the same thing?!" the other member interjected.
"No, remember when we were still starting to join tournaments. We are hungry for success back then. We even try harder to please our seniors so that we gain their acknowledgment. But the Chronos squad, aside from them inviting us to that high-end club, seemed to not be trying hard. They did not even open the topic of our connections and getting a possible recommendation," his companion carefully explained.
"Mmmm, you have a point. We can actually recommend them to our director and let them join our squad. But it never came up," the other member spoke as he finally understood the difference between having the hunger for success and just plainly confidence to succeed.
In fact, this group expected that the Chronos squad would ask a favor to their squad leader. They also knew that WINS was able to give few favors to other gamers in the past. It was just common for other players to ask for help from the seniors to build a fanbase and public image.
FAB_Gamers could have boosted the Chronos squad's prestige.
But no one in their team had opened a conversation of such a thing. All they talked about was so random and would not gain benefits to them!
It was almost like they were close friends that they had just managed to assemble a lunch after not seeing for a long time.
If only they knew how little their connections were compared to the past life of the soul inside Sofia, they would definitely not dare mentioned such trivial things!
"That group, they have a promising character and they have skills! I almost envy how they can have that solid confidence despite being a newbie. If they can withstand the harshness of being a public figure, they would surely surpass us. But if they cannot bear the crudeness of this industry, I am certain that they could find another path to be successful," WINS said after their car halted on the parking space of the public gymnasium.
"Thank you for driving us, uncle," he added before his feet stepped out of the car.
"It is part of my duty, sir. Have a great day ahead!" the driver politely replied before he started the engine of the car and left the place.
