Chapter 66 - The Piece Of Paper
Chapter 66 – The Piece Of Paper
The team manager almost dropped her jaw on the floor!
How could it be that simple as being embarrassed by the pimple to accept the interview? Surely, there was more to it than what Sofia was telling her.
And she also knew that Sofia was taking advantage of her words!
Meanwhile, Stephen shook his head and made a facepalm. His shoulder was slightly quivering as he covered his mouth to stop himself from laughing.
If he had known that Sofia would use her pimples as an excuse to avoid the interview, he might have offered a skincare product to her before!
The man slowly took his phone and pretended to get busy. The rest of the members followed his action. They buried their faces on their phones and refused to look at the intruder.
Opposite to the group, the lady was fuming in rage!
'How dare this youngster used my words against me!' the team manager angrily complained while rubbing her palms.
"Right! You are crafty, kid! I'll be sure to post in the media that it is your reason to refuse to be interviewed! I'm sure that your fans would be amused to see the head of the Chronos squad refuses interview because of acne!" the team manager coldly said. She had expected Sofia to feel threatened by it and apologize to her. After all, the teenagers were too attentive to their appearance.
However, much to her surprise, Sofia only beamed brightly. She clasped her fingers and leaned forward.
"That could also work. But, as I said, my squad has a private press to take care of our publicity," Sofia waved her hand to dismiss the team manager.
This direct indifference from Sofia made the team manager almost lose her control.
"You… you… you… Hmmp! I'll make sure to put that in the headlines of the tournament news! Don't blame me!" the team manager staggered as she turned around and walked out of the booth.
As the woman left, Sofia took a small mirror on her bag and tilted her chin. She examined the redness of her skin as several acne spread on it.
"That woman surely gives attention to the details of my face! " She mumbled softly.
"What the heck! Are you that insecure about your pimples? I could have bought you something to cure it," Stephen playfully teased Sofia.
"I'm not insecure! It was a joke! They are part of my natural skin. It's nothing to be embarrassed. But, come to think of it, if the tournament organizers really published a headline of my pimple, it would be a good deal for me!" Sofia chuckled.
"Good deal? People will bash you because of it, Sof! How can you say that it's a good deal," Claire worriedly spoke.
"No, no, no… It is a good deal. Hehe, I am just a blossoming teenager. Getting pimples is normal. But if the tournament would publish this kind of flaw, it will be on the advantage side for me." Sofia paused with a small grin in her lips.
"How can you make it as an advantage?" Clark inquired.
"See, those companies who specializes anti-pimple products would surely offer a partnership to prove their effectiveness. Hehehe, they might want to be a sponsor," Sofia giggled while imagining the possibility of sponsorship and gaining profit from it.
"That… how are you able to think of that plan?! That's brilliant! I have a pimple too, we should do it together, Sof!" Clark moved the hair on his forehead and showed a single red bump on his skin.
"Yes, well see if they dare publish my pimples. But after this tournament, if we get plenty of sleep, this pimple will be gone. That lady just failed to consider our sleepless night for the preparation of the tournament. Anyway, I am just waiting for a call. We have no private press yet. But, I already met someone who could potentially give us publicity," Sofia informed them.
"Okay, that's great! You are so awesome, Sof! So, you have made consideration of these things before this day of the tournament?" Joey asked.
"No, it happened earlier this morning before the elimination round. I met someone with a connection from the press," Sofia clarified.
"Sof, you seemed to know all the things that needed to do. Are you sure that this is your first time to join a tournament?" Clark voiced out her suspicion.
"It is my first time to join official gaming tournament. You can ask Claire if you don't believe me. But I do have experience on other kinds of stuff," Sofia glanced at Claire and hinted to her teammates about her last life.
As their squad continued to have a casual conversation, Jing Jing passed through their booth and finally noticed Sofia's figure. But she did not think too much of it. She just smiled and continued walking towards her two companions.
"So, she is also a gamer participating in this tournament," Jing Jing whispered and subconsciously took a piece of paper from her pocket. It was the paper that Sofia handed her earlier.
As she opened looked down on the content, her entire body instantly froze.

"AH!" Jing Jing exclaimed in shock. Maxwell and Rica who were just sitting near her were startled by her sharp voice and observed her secretly.
"It is her?" Jing Jing took a big gulp while trying to calm herself. She did not expect that she had bumped into the very person that she wanted to take a scope earlier!
"This… this…" Jing Jing panicked in excitement. Unexpectedly, there was a chance for her to get a great lead to submit for her company!
"What's the matter, Jing Jing?" Rica and Maxwell asked together when the couple noticed that her demeanor abruptly changed.
"I have struck a huge luck without even realizing it!" Jing Jing quickly responded and took her phone out. She immediately dialed the number scribbled on the paper.
"A huge luck?!" the lady beside her looked puzzled but Jing Jing was already busy with her phone.
"Hehehe, I'll be back," Jing Jing stood from her seat and started walking away.
"Who is she calling?" Rica looked at Maxwell as if her boyfriend could give her some answers.
"Just enjoy the game, hon. Your friend knows what she is doing," Maxwell kissed her forehead and suggested that she continued watching the match.
