Chapter 98 - Championship (16)

Chapter 98 – Championship (16)

With the planned formation, the four players of the Chronos squad continued to march forward in the bottom lane until they arrived on the final defense tower of the Lee Gaming squad.

Clark was the first to initiate the attack. The creeps from the opponent's side who were advancing towards them were quickly knocked up as his mage summoned the wind. Few of the creeps survived his attack but he also made a follow-up strike by casting the fire towards his target. The poor small soldiers were burnt into a crisp before they transformed into gold earnings to Clark's mage.

The boy had quickly gained a good mood. He started to enjoy the game without anything in mind other than his performance inside the battlefield.

He did not need to wait for Sofia's tank to attack as his role was capable of wide-range attack and his cooldown reduction was very high. Just like Sofia had instructed him before, this low cool-down effect for his skills was very convenient for him.

Some mage users may not agree to this type of build but with Clark's level of gameplay, it was the most effective.

Not long after, the Chronos squad quickly invaded the territory of the Lee Gaming squad.

Attack!

"Don't hold back!" Sofia ordered and her character dashed forward.

As soon as their creeps entered the zone inside the final defense tower, Sofia's tank instantly hacked the tower. Stephen's marksman was maintaining a close distance beside her, finding a good position to strike.

The HP bar of the tower gradually decreased but they have not managed to fully destroy this defense. A glint of lightning followed to travel from above and descended towards their area!

On the other side, the Lee Gaming squad started to block the invaders, Their mage quickly retaliated by summoning various lightning and barricading their tower.

"Young master Brent, I'll go around and then sneak behind their back. Then, I will push all of them near us! This time all of them will be cornered! It's up to you to deal damage next! Guys, pay attention once I use my ultimate and forced them to go towards our innermost part of the tower," William spoke his own plan. His tone did not sound as if he was proposing the idea. Rather, there was a determination in his voice. And before anyone could react, the tank ventured out from their initial position.

"Be careful!" Brent mumbled. He had not yet responded nor agreed to William but his character already moved towards the jungle area and then jumped behind the Chronos mage. He could only take a quick look at the tank's movement before he positioned his gunner and aimed at the four invaders of their tower.

It was a complete change of plan for their squad but seeing that William already made his way to do what he had exactly told them, all his teammates swiftly moved to the corner side. Adjustments were so easy to make since they were just almost moving few feet away from one another.

Brent released a faint sigh and followed William's plan. He was aware that the boy had a tendency to be reckless and his character may easily become the food of their opponents. But he still prayed that they would be able to execute the plan effectively.

William timed himself before he pressed hit ultimate to aim for the supposed destination of his tank. "In three, two, one!"

He had been glancing on the entire map and could not locate the Chronos assassin.

"Be quick! Please don't die! It would be so hard if you die!" William heard his ally mage worriedly requested him to avoid death. This plan was too risky for his tank to make an attack outside their territory.

William also acknowledged this possibility. But to him, the higher the risk the more ecstatic it would be once he conquered and finish off his enemies.

"Ohh yeah! I can handle this!" William stated. He had not yet released his ultimate skill and still waiting for the perfect timing to attack.

"Well, you can knock them all and pushed them forward, the risk is worth taking," Brent nodded and finally supported the tank. The boy may be rash but it did not mean that he was not making any considerations.

"I think this can work for us also. We have to proactively fight in their invasion instead of doing a full defense," the fighter user stated.

"Don't ever think of following the tank! William can go ahead and execute his plan, but you… you stay!" Brent spoke sternly. Even if their tank user was a daredevil, there was one thing that he was confident about William. His fingers were fast. He can perform multiple executions of skills even in crucial situations.

"I will knock them back! Especially their low-damaged marksman. That's nothing! The only real deal opponent right now is the assassin!" William agreed and emphasized who they should be warry.

Where was indeed the Chronos assassin?

The perspective on the large screen slowly traveled towards the river until it revealed the location of the assassin. Chronos Almighty Killer was attacking solo the giant mutant that had been respawned a couple of minutes ago!

And with the character's great amount of physical damage, she made it easy to slash down the HP of the giant NPC!

"The assassin may be farming in their jungle? There are still jungle monsters in their area," the mage user suggested. All they could do was take a guess.

"No, that assassin is full build. There is one area in the map that she could possibly be located," Brent stated.

"Where? Is she in the giant mutant… ugh! Not again!" their assassin also groaned feeling a great headache after mentioning the giant mutant.

"Yes, I have a hunch that she is attacking the giant mutant. But, let's worry about that later. Focus on our plan!" Brent announced.

Gamers like them who had a sufficient grasp of the map and certain gameplays had developed an instinct for particular situations.

Although the Chronos opponents were oblivious of the actual location where the assassin went to they had also a gut feeling that the assassin was attacking the giant mutant.

Gaming instinct was something that made makes a player moved to another level of understanding in the game. And just like in the real-life, these instincts were mostly accurate.

"Three, two, one!" William muttered again. This time, he aimed for the ground where the Chronos marksman was standing.

Right after he counted, his character leaped on where he stood towards the location he had chosen.

A signal appeared several times hinting his allies to attack!

The moment this Lee Gaming squad landed its foot on the ground, all the opponents knocked on the air for a second. This skill stunned all the Chronos squad members including Sofia. And before the team could recover from the stun effect, William's tank immediately spun its body in a rapid movement like a tornado sweeping them towards their base.

Sofia was successfully pushed forward but, with her stats, her HP was not yet affected. Joey quickly cast a full heal to everyone. Thus, they managed to survive with the sneak attack of William's tank.

"I am impressed!" Sofia complimented. Knowing Brent's style, she expected that no one would sneak attack on the side of the Lee Gaming squad. It meant that she had predicted the plan of Brent. But, she had not anticipated the plan of William!

Despite being push forward and become the subject of the attack, Sofia did not panic. She calmly looked at her character as it continued to sustain the attack from the opponent's side.

"Hehe," a faint giggle of amusement escaped from her lips and then her hand pressed the first skill button on her mobile screen.

The longer she pressed the first skill, the hook also aimed at the targets. Her character became motionless for a while but her hand had already trying to select the target.

"The CEO UNRIVALED is not moving! Did she became AFK?" the mage user of the Lee Gaming squad questioned. It was too abnormal to stay stagnant while being attacked thus, she could not help but thought that Sofia was abandoning the game.

"AFK? I don't think so! Everyone, be careful! This tank user may be calculating. Try to move your characters from side to side tho avoid her counter attack!" Brent stated. There was no way Sofia would leave the game just because her character was motionless.

After Brent expressed her advice to the team, Sofia also released the button that she had been pressing.

The mage who thought that she abandoned the game was quickly dragged away from her ally side after the hook pulled her.

"Ohhh no! Not again!" the mage user kicked the air below the chair after CEO UNRIVALED got her.

William who had seen this counterattack, stared in disbelief.

His character was still pushing the opponent but this plan may just be the cause of why the Chronos tank was able to snatch their mage!

He obviously sent an enemy to their territory in hope that the enemy would be destroyed.

But looking at their situation now, it would seem that the enemy sent to be killed by his allies would be the same enemy that would destroy them instead!
