Child of Destiny

Chapter 826 Until We Meet Again

Shin chanted the mantras recorded on the ‘Jade Kirin Scripture’, trying to communicate with the powerful Mental Energy covering his entire body.

It didn’t take long for him to connect with it since he was already familiar with the ‘Jade Kirin Scripture’.

This particular method that was passed down to him by his Senior Brother was really mysterious since it perfectly matched him in every way. He didn’t have a hard time learning it. It was as if this Mentalism Training Method was specially tailored just for him.

He discovered a lot of uses for this particular scripture. Mostly, it could assist him in creating a variety of skills and tricks when he was trying to combine his Martial Arts and Mentalism Techniques. And on top of that, it could also arouse the potential of his unique physique, the ‘Spiritual Embryo’ special body.

There were also a variety of calming techniques within to calm his mind down in cases where he suddenly lost his mind and entered Demonification.

And right now, it could even help him communicate with the strange wall hiding within his Sea of Consciousness.

Connecting those dots, Shin could already guess a few things.

As if he could read what was running inside Shin’s head, Uno suddenly asked. “Why didn’t you bother to ask for more and seek the truth.”

Shin opened his eyes and looked at Uno who was still in the middle of digesting the Demonic Qi that he absorbed.

He was silent for a moment before shaking his head. “Because it is pointless.”

“What is the point of asking for questions when everyone is hiding the answers from you?” he added with a sigh.

“Isn’t it more meaningful that way? If everyone is against you at learning the truth, isn’t your job to seek answers yourself?” asked Uno in return.

Shin smiled bitterly when he heard those questions before answering. “It is natural for people to become curious about something when they learn that everyone is hiding something from them.”

“They will naturally look for answers and do everything they can to learn the truth. But what they are going to do after that?”

“There must be a reason why are they hiding those answers from me, and that includes you. It is either because I am still not prepared to learn the truth or due to cowardice.” 𝓫𝓮𝒹𝓷ℴ𝓿ℯ𝓵.𝓬ℴ𝓶

He paused for a brief moment as a lonely expression became present on his face before continuing. “I don’t know why, but at times, I feel like I am unconsciously running away from something.”

“It is like I am always afraid of something. Or rather, it is as if I am afraid to learn the truth itself.”

“So rather than letting myself expose to those feelings, I chose the easiest way and run away while hoping for myself to become ready to learn the truth in the future,” he added.

Uno sighed helplessly and asked. “Are you really going to wait foolishly like that? Then what if that time didn’t arrive? What are you going to do?”

Shin chuckled a little when he heard those words before replying. “I doubt that it is the case since there is always a right time for everything.”

“Just like how you are asking me those questions, the truth will eventually come out when the right time arrives,” he added.

“Tsk! Your stubbornness and foolishness are still annoying as ever,” commented Uno unconsciously as if he was already expecting that answer.

Shin laughed a little when he heard that and replied. “For you to say that I can now say that we are pretty close, aren’t we?”

“Bah! Close? We will never be close since I only feel hatred whenever I see you!” said Uno with full annoyance.

“Oh! So, we are frequently talking with each other before,” commented Shin within an instant.

Then Uno started cursing Shin, making the latter laugh. He didn’t know why, but Uno’s hostility seemed to make Shin strangely comfortable. It was as if he reunited with someone who was very close to him.

After that, Shin initiated an idle chatter which made Uno become even more annoyed. He kept saying to Shin to focus on his job if he didn’t want to be a cripple for his whole life.

Unfortunately, Shin ignored his runts and continued to inquire about some random things while also throwing a couple of probing questions in the mix.

After talking with each other for quite some time, Shin discovered that even if Uno was constantly giving him some hated remarks, he was genuinely concerned about Shin’s well-being.

Uno kept on denying it, but Shin could tell that the two of them were deeply connected. It was not because he was residing within Shin’s Sea of Consciousness, but because of some other reason.

Shin knew that there was a part of his memory that was completely hidden from him, and seemed like this mysterious entity was a part of it. And since Uno kept on calling him a coward, he was sure that this person knew everything about him, both his current self and the part of him that he had somehow forgotten.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

A few moments later, Shin finished his job. He finally managed to create a connection between himself and the powerful Mental Energy running within his body.

Then Shin ordered it to gather around his dantian, sealing and isolating it off. The Mental Energy quickly made their move and rushed towards the direction that he had indicated.

They ran through his meridians like a raging wave, making Shin groan in pain. And as they gathered together, they seemed to also cleanse the impurities that were running within his system.

It was a very painful process, but Shin felt that was worth it.

When they were gathered around his dantian, the Mental Energy instinctively wanted to suppress the Demonic Qi that was slowly getting out of control.

But before the worst could even happen, Shin quickly stopped it and told to wait for his next orders.

“So, what is next?” asked Shin.

“Are you seriously asking me that?” answered Uno within an instant before quickly adding. “The answer is already obvious, isn’t it?”

Shin was silent for a moment before asking. “Tell me, will my Martial Arts lag behind after sealing it off?”

Uno suddenly sneered at Shin after hearing that. “Heh! Seriously?”

“With me here, such a thing is not going to happen,” he added with full confidence.

“So, you are basically telling me that you can even train my Martial Arts here, huh? Interesting,” said Shin slyly.

“Then I will trust you on that,” he added before making a series of hand seals. This time, he was no longer relying on the ‘Jade Kirin Scripture’, he was now using the Mentalism Technique according to the ‘Four Symbol Scripture’.

After that, he swiftly wrote a series of runes in the air, following a particular sequence. Bit by bit, those runes gathered together and created a huge Mentalism Formation floating in the air.

“Commence!” shouted Shin, making the formation spin rapidly as it flew higher in the air.

Shin continued to draw a series of runes in the air, filling the missing parts of the formation. Each stroke of his finger left a glowing rune in the air. And right after he drew them, they would immediately fly up and occupied the gap within the formation.

The formation slowly and steadily grew until it could cover Shin’s entire dantian.

Sensing that threat from that formation, the Demonic Qi within the dantian immediately became restless and attempted to break free. Unfortunately, Uno had a firm grasp on it and prevented it from doing anything.

“In the end, I still use this sealing formation to suppress the Demonic Qi within my dantian,” said Shin bitterly before quickly adding. “Though, it is not the exact situation that we are expecting.”

“I am pretty sure that that Old Fatty will laugh at me when he learns this,” muttered Shin as he imagine Grandmaster Benn making fun of him.

He then turned to Uno and asked. “Are you still not willing to tell me who you are?”

Uno was almost finished digesting the Demonic Qi, so the dark smoke covering his body was slowly dissipating. But despite that being the case, Shin still couldn’t see his real appearance.

“Already told, you will eventually know who I am when the time is right,” replied Uno as usual.

Shin already knew that Uno was going to respond like that, but he still asked regardless.

“Then I will be going ahead,” he said before finishing the Sealing Formation with a couple of hand seals.

Roar! Howl! Shriek! Wail!

The four different sounds of a beast suddenly rang in the whole place, a roar of a tiger, a howl of a dragon, a shriek of a phoenix, and a wail of a turtle.

Then the Mental Energy that was patiently waiting for Shin’s orders immediately moved and created a spherical layer on his dantian, completely sealing it off.

On the surface of this sphere, the image of the four beasts slowly appeared as if they were guarding it.

‘Four Symbol Scripture: Sealing of the Holy Beings’

Immediately after that, Shin sensed that most of the Martial Art attainments present in his body slowly disappear. Or to be more precise, slowly being hidden.

His spiritual body within this part of his consciousness was also slowly dissipating. It was an indication that he also needed to leave.

He already suspected it earlier, but it looked like this mysterious entity was really going to be sealed alongside his dantian.

“Until the time we meet again,” said Shin, bidding his farewell.

As his spiritual body slowly dissipate, the dark smoke covering Uno’s body was also starting to disappear.

Uno didn’t immediately reply as he watched Shin leave.

And as if he perfectly calculated it, when there were only a few seconds left for Shin, and when the dark smoke slowly revealed his face, he finally opened his mouth. “Don’t neglect your Mentalism training, or else you will never be able to defeat me the next time we see each other.”

Shin’s eyes suddenly turned wide at the final moments since he could see a splitting image of himself right in front of him.

The aura and atmospheres were completely different, but aside from those things and the color of their pupils, everything seemed to be completely the same.

Seeing Uno having a completely similar appearance to him, a series of multiple scenarios suddenly flashed across Shin’s eyes, making him dizzy.

“You-…!”

Shin wanted to say something, but unfortunately, his time was already up.

Aside from staring blankly at Uno, Shin couldn’t do anything while he was being sent out of this place.

Left alone, Uno stared at the spot where Shin sat earlier before closing his eyes.

“I guess I will be spending this long and peaceful time by myself once again,” he said chucklingly but with a hint of loneliness present in his eyes.
