Chapter 274 - Juyoung Hong (6)
Chapter 274 – Juyoung Hong (6)
“Run away!”
“Flame Outburst! Soar, Pillar of Fire!”
“Attack, Fire Spirit!”
“My body will be solid steel!”
“Power Shot! Triple Shot!”
Smith’s party relentlessly attacked me with all kinds of skills.
No matter how strong the roots were, they were trees by nature, and were bound to be vulnerable to fire. As a result, flames caught on to the roots.
At that moment, however, other roots around the flames began to stick to it like glue. All of the sticking parts withdrew straight into the ground, and new roots sprouted right away.
The other attacks by Smith’s party faced the same fate. Although their attacks ruined the roots and inflicted great damage on them, the surrounding roots stuck to the damaged ones, then withdrew into the ground like before. Instantly new roots emerged from the same location.
The virtuous cycle continued, although it must have seemed a vicious cycle for Smith’s party.
Before long Smith’s party was suppressed by the roots and dragged to the ground, although they resisted desperately. They screamed, spitting out all kinds of curses at the roots.
I was also rather embarrassed by their humiliating defeat.
Obviously, I had no intention of ignoring or encouraging any enemy, but Smith’s party was obviously strong. It was why all of my ice-type attacks had been blocked by them, and why I was forced to use my Blink with its zero cooldown.
Smith’s party was already stumbling from my relentless attacks, and the roots neutralized their attacks cleanly without me even needing to intervene again.
“Damn it!”
“What a shame!”
“I must be dreaming now. This can’t be reality! No way!”
“How come we were defeated like this?”
“Is this his skill or his ability? Nonsense! This is bullshit! This is reality, not Revival Legend!”
“Help! Help me!”
They denied reality, cried with snot and tears pouring down, and even begged for their lives.
There was no more majesty and guts in their attitude. Instead they were miserable losers who gave up their pride without any hesitation.
I understood their position. The place where Smith’s party and I were standing was reality, not within Revival Legend. That meant their deaths here were real deaths!
Perhaps that was why each and every member of Smith’s party struggled for survival. Among them Smith showed the most intense desire to survive.
“Help me! Please spare my life! You already have seen our abilities, right? You have seen my ability, right? Disclose my Trait!”
[Trait: 200% reality actualization rate.
: Not limited to reality actualization rate.
-You can increase the reality actualization rate of up to 5 people, including yourself, without any limitation.
-Up to 200% for you.
-Up to 180% for the second target.
-Up to 160% for the third target.
-Up to 140% for the fourth target.
-Up to 120% of the fifth target]
“Let me increase your actuality realization by a whopping 180%, or let me just give you 180% all the time, Asirante! I’m going to use the remaining reality actualization rate for you and I’m going to be your slave for the rest of my life. So, please spare my life!”
Thud! Thud! Thud!
With his limbs bound by roots, Smith cried out again, slamming his head into the ground.
However, I focused on his traits more than him.
‘200%…’
In the end, it meant that he was stronger in reality than in Revival Legend.
I had no choice but to think this was a scam. I figured out why the five guys including Smith were so strong in reality.
I was tempted by his offer momentarily, as I had nothing to be afraid of if I had 180% of my reality actualization rate in reality all the time. When I thought about the enormous coins that I had to use to increase my reality actualization rate, his offer was especially tempting.
But I shook my head, shaking off my idle thoughts.
If my reality actualization rate was controlled by somebody else, I would have no choice but to be dependent on him. If Smith withdrew my boosted reality actualization rate at a crucial moment, I was going to be dead.
What’s more, he even said he would be my slave, who would do anything for me.
Of course he would… with a probability of about 0.000001%!
Even if it was not 0.000001%, but 99%, I didn’t want to rely on that possibility, as a power that could be affected by the situation, circumstances, and conditions was not my true power.
Besides, I was confident of raising my actuality realization rate further by collecting coins persistently, even though it would take me longer.
After sorting out my thoughts, I walked toward Smith.
“Please save my life, Asirante! I will do anything for you. Haven’t you seen my ability? Please use my ability, Asirante!”
“Well, I guess you are right. You can be a big help to me. I have no doubt about it.”
“Yes, that’s right!”
“But!”
Standing right in front of Smith, I said, looking down at him stuck in the ground, “I don’t spare an enemy’s life.”
Puck!
“Kheeeeeeeeek!”
I had already killed more than 10,000 people within Revival Legend. I had agonized over whether I could kill somebody in reality. I wondered if I could maintain a normal life after killing somebody in reality.
Murdering somebody these days? Actually it was very common, and much too frequent.
I could not allow myself to take it for granted, but I just felt no empathy after killing Smith.
Of course, I had some regrets about it.
Because I kicked away the opportunity to make use of Smith? No, not at all. I didn’t have that in mind from the beginning, since I didn’t trust him.
However, Smith’s power was real. So was his Trait.
I even thought that I might later regret this, if a strong being emerged who I couldn’t stop with my own power. In other words, I had killed someone who could help me a lot when using my power to protect the Earth in the future.
However, I stopped regretting it quickly. “Well, I can regret it later, but not now.” I had no intention of going to the trouble of worrying about anything in advance.
If I had thought that way, I wouldn’t have killed Smith from the beginning!
“I just…”
“Please save my life!”
“Since my boss just died, my 140% reality actualization rate has disappeared. Now I…”
The four members of Smith’s party begged for their lives, trembling violently.
I quietly said, “I already told you that I don’t spare my enemy’s lives.”
While saying that, I tried hard to not show any sign of trembling. My reason wanted me to stop killing them here.
Even my sword hand was trembling.
But if I wanted to save these guys, I should have saved Smith, too!
No matter how small an ember was, I had no intention of leaving it intact when it could be the source of anxiety later.
Just like Smith said to me, I was a coward. Moreover, I knew that all of the major guild players around the world were watching me closely right now.
So, I had to show them what kind of consequences they would inevitably face when they messed with me.
Puck! Puck!
“Kheeeeeek!”
“Damn it!”
“You devil bastard!”
“You are going to be killed by a stronger guy than you… Kheeek!”
The moment they knew they would not be spared, they spilled out curses at me.
Their blood splashed on me along with their curses, but I didn’t stop stabbing them. I knew doing nothing would be better than doing it inconclusively.
