Chapter 389 - Level 1600, Level 1700, and Level
Chapter 389 – Level 1600, Level 1700, and Level
The level 1600 hunting ground was home to archer-type monsters called Dark Elves dyed in darkness.
Maybe that’s why they stood still and attacked me with arrows when I charged into their midst.
[Dark Arrow!]
[Multiple Darkness Arrow!]
[Exploding Darkness Arrow!]
Puck! Puck! Puck! Puck!
They kept attacking me endlessly, something which was not unfamiliar to me.
In the past, I generally preferred hunting melee-monsters so I could herd hunt them, but that didn’t mean that I had never confronted long-distance type monsters at all. However, I could confirm that they were not the same type of long-range monsters that I had confronted in the past. In other words, their attack range was very long.
“Hmm… I now know why they complained…”
When I first entered the level 1600 hunting ground here, there were some teams that had gotten here ahead of me for hunting.
So I just watched them hunting to check what kind of monsters they would encounter, even if the monsters had no chance of inflicting any damage to me.
Then some team members began to complain.
“Damn it! Why are they attacking us from such a long distance?”
“Hey, don’t move too much. Since their attack range is so long, it means that these Dark Elves can spot us from far away!”
“Step back, you idiot! You are the target of more than 30 monsters!”
“Save him! When he dies, aside from giving up EXP, we can’t log in for one week due to the death penalty!”
“Heal! Heal!”
“Mega Heal!”
Even though it was their first time in the level 1600 hunting ground, the fact that they could reach here indicated that they had ample hunting experiences.
Nonetheless, they were in a chaotic situation, not knowing how to deal with the monsters.
At the time, I honestly didn’t understand why because they had no reason to get flustered like that.
But when I charged at them by myself, I could definitely feel why they fell into a fluster back then. These monsters had the longest attack range of all the monsters I had ever combated. That’s why the others were so startled and flustered.
Did it matter to me at all?
Of course, not at all, because my intellect was over 80,000 for a good reason.
Moreover, even when my intellect was low, my ice-type skills were special.
Obviously, compared to other ice-type wizards, my skill ranges and damage for AOE skills were incredibly high because of my trait, Iceman.
Iceman was limited to only ice-type skills, but it vastly improved their overall performance.
Besides, I had one more powerful item this time, the Ice Emperor’s guardian sword, which had better physical attack power than magic attack power.
Even though its physical attack power was higher than my magic attack power, it was not because of its mythical grade that I kept enhancing it with lots of effort and used it.
In fact, I had to keep using it because of the option it provided that increased the performance of all skills of the ice series just like my trait, ‘Iceman’.
Because of that, the arrows that the Dark Elves dyed in darkness shot from quite a distance didn’t inflict any damage to me at all. In fact, by using my AOE skill Ice Field during the ‘Strongest Guild Selection’ event, I encircled the wide arena with ice in an instant. Even if that was not enough to block the monsters, I could easily herd them into a narrow space using Blink with zero cooldown.
But there was a reason why I just stood still on the spot and let them attack me without doing anything. I wanted to check out how strong they were.
Of course, I had already sized them up.
Even if they were the level 1600 monsters, they could not inflict any big damage to me when the level 1500 monsters did little harm to me. If that really happened, it would mean the collapse of the current balance of the system.
Anyway, after exposing myself to their attacks for a while, I opened my mouth quietly because I was done examining how powerful they were.
So all I had to do from now on was to counterattack them.
“Blizzard!
Puck! Puck! Puck! Puck!
[Kheeeeeeeeeeek!]
[Khuuuuuuuuuuk!]
The level 1500 Titans were melee monsters with high stamina and health. However, it was easy to tell that the Dark Elves dyed in darkness were monsters with a high agility stat, even though their stamina and health were lacking compared to the Titans. Because of that, they reacted more quickly than the Titans.
Of course, they could withstand my attack if their magic defense power was huge, but it wasn’t. Even if it was, it would have little effect on me anyway.
Flop.
Flop.
After confirming that they collapsed one by one, I opened my mouth softly.
“Check Monster Imprinting.”
[Your current status of Monster Imprinting.
-Currently accumulated monsters: Dark Elves dyed in darkness.
-Current accumulation rate: 0.021%
*You will obtain the following traits when you imprint the trait of the Dark Elf dyed in darkness by achieving 100% accumulation rate.
-Agility stat points increase by 4500.
-When you use arrows as your means of attack, your attack range increases by 5%.]
“Um…”
The Titan trait granted 3000 strength and 3000 stamina.
Moreover, since the stamina increase was not blocked by my trait Mutual Growth, my stat points increased by a total of 6000. In addition to that, the trait also granted rigidity which would reduce incoming damage by 10%. Considering that, although these elf monsters were obviously higher in level, the trait they granted was clearly behind the Titan.
A 5% increase in attack range when using arrows was an option that was not relevant to me at all.
Nonetheless, I was on alert.
“Am I going to be okay?”
First of all, my stamina exceeded 60,000 due to Mutual Growth that grew 100% along with my Intellect. Even though it’s true that the more, the better, I could do without the extra 3000 stamina.
What’s more, I could also do without the 10% damage reduction, which might be very attractive to tanks as well as users within Revival Legend.
In other words, 4500 agility was not that bad when pitted against 300 strength.
“Well, I don’t have to decide right now because I can have as many as three traits through monster imprinting, even though I can activate only one of them.”
Since I didn’t have to agonize over it right away, I charged at the monsters again to achieve 100% accumulation rate.
With a smile on my face, I hunted for quite a long time without knowing the passage of time.
Considering EXP and coins, the most efficient hunting ground was the level 1500 hunting ground Titan without any doubt, but I couldn’t help but be sick and tired of it since I had to stay there for a long time.
In contrast, a hunting ground that gave only a small amount of EXP as well as coins was not only fresh, but also it was like rain for a drought.
What’s more, I still had two more things to be happy about, namely, the level 1700 hunting ground, and the level 1800 hunting ground.
