Chapter 572
Chapter 572: 572

No one was moving a single muscle and everyone seemed to have been placed in a quagmire. We were in a staredown with Marisha and the pressure she was exuding was enormous. A few girls behind us lost feeling in their legs but then Marisha spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.
āAll of you, get dressed. Iāll wait one minute.ā
āY-YES MAāAM!ā
Everyone just ran back inside to look for the clump of clothes that we threw somewhere but Kaley and I easily put on ours because it was inside the armory. With the girls, they just mixed and matched their clothes because time was of the essence and they were all almost the same size.
After exactly one minute, all of us were kneeling like last time while Marisha was looking down from above. We werenāt making a sound as she scanned through each of Micahās girls but her gaze eventually landed on us. My mind was in shambles and I didnāt know what to do, but Marisha eventually spoke.
Marisha raised one of her eyebrows as she folded her arms, āKaleyā¦ā
Kaley instantly flinched, āY-Yes, M-Mom?!ā
āI told you so.ā
āW-W-What?ā
āDidnāt hear me? I told you so.ā
āI-I-I donāt g-get it, M-Momā¦ā
āYou willā¦ your mind is just in shambles after seeing me. Anyway, breakfast is ready but Iād take this time to tell you girls to come to my home right after. Itās only a few walks forward past your permanent residence. And Micah, if you donāt mind, Iād like you to be there too. Weāll just have a little talk with your idea.ā
Micah flinched when she heard her name but she replied, āY-Yesā¦ Iāll bring them right after breakfastā¦ and a showerā¦ a long~ showerā¦ā
āThat would be nice.ā
Everything became silently uncomfortable for a complete minute before Marisha spoke again.
āCynthia, how are you? Doing okay?ā
āY-Yes! M-More than okay!ā
āCan you please elaborate?ā
āW-Wellā¦ I think Iāve g-got more f-friends now and e-even ifā¦ n-nevermindā¦ itās fine I-ā
āWhat do you mean by even if? Did something happen?ā
āU-Ummā¦ n-no! I-Itās not important I-Itās okayā¦ I m-meanā¦ u-ummā¦ā
āI seeā¦ā
āW-What?ā
āItās not about something that happened, itās about something that did not happen. You came from the other room with the others, right? How did not being included with your new friends from your nightly āactivitiesā made you feel?ā
Kaley interjected, āM-Mom! Please! You already know, right?! W-Weāre all a.d.u.l.ts h-hereā¦ we can just-ā
Marisha briefly glanced at Kaley and it shot her down, āKaley, I know. Weāre just talking, right Cynthia?ā
āU-Ummā¦ technicallyā¦ yeahā¦ j-just talkingā¦ T-To answer your questionā¦ I wanted to spend more time with everyone b-butā¦ u-ummā¦ I donāt know how to explain thisā¦ā
āGo on, thereās no judgment here. As I said, weāre just talking casually.ā
Cynthia was a little embarrassed but she continued, āY-Yeah, I knowā¦ I just really couldnāt put it into wordsā¦ itās likeā¦ likeā¦ I just kinda wanted to ease into itā¦ not you knowā¦ b-but I would like to be as close as everyoneā¦ theyāre really niceā¦ not just withā¦ you knowā¦ Iām really not sure what to sayā¦ā
Marisha faintly smiled, āI think thatās easy enough to understand. Rin?ā
āIs she gonna talk to each of us?! Right now?! Before we get breakfast?! What?!ā
Rin flinched the same as everyone, āY-Yes?!ā
āWhatās been going on without you lately? I think last we spoke was five days ago, right?ā
āY-Yesā¦ u-ummā¦ā
Time continued to pass and what we talked about were just embarrassing confessions about each other, fun introductions from everyone, cheesy secrets, and so much more. Everyone actually enjoyed this talk after the awkward and scary encounter from earlier. WE got to learn about each other, especially our new friends.
With that said, Marisha didnāt talk to me like everyone else but she asked to talk to me privately. She even asked Kaley to leave the room and have breakfast with everybody while the two of us were left inside.
We were just staring at each other for a short moment before she spoke.
āSo, how are you feeling?ā
I replied, āIām fine. Kinda tired butā¦ Iām fineā¦ really. Why did Kaley and the rest have to leave? Is there a reason?ā
Marisha faintly smiled, āObviously. I just wanted to talk in private.ā
āI-I know that a-alreadyā¦ Let me r-rephrase thenā¦ Ummā¦ā
Marisha chuckled, āIām just joking, youāre too stiff. Youāre not in troubleā¦ kindaā¦ā
āAhā¦ That didnāt sound too goodā¦ Is there a problem?ā
Marishaās expression turned solemn, āOkay, Iām just gonna tell it to you straight. I can read my daughters even if theyāre not talking and I could as easily read other people even after just a short conversation. Thereās no denying that Kaley loves you dearly but those other girls? Itās not as great or intense but they also have feelings for you. It varies from each girl but youāve made a connection with them whether you like it or not.ā
I scratched my head, āYeahā¦ I felt that sometimes but if youāre worried about me, you shouldnāt. I thought I established that already even if our current relationship with everyone is really complicated to explain. I make sure to follow our boundaries and even ifā¦ I meanā¦ last nightā¦ we did something off-bookā¦ it was with each otherās agreement. Weād never do anything that the other doesnāt want.ā
Marisha suddenly tilted her head as her eyebrow raised, āAnd what is this off-book thing that you speak of?ā
āU-Ummā¦ we justā¦ I donāt know how- nevermindā¦ okayā¦ Itās one of our rules to make sure that weāre both present if we ever do theā¦ the deed with other peopleā¦ the thing wasā¦ y-yesterdayā¦ after we did itā¦ i-in front of everybodyā¦ I stayed in my room with Micahās girls and s-sheā¦ in the other r-roomā¦ā
Marisha started rubbing her glabella, āThat girlā¦ā
āN-N-No! Please! Here me out! Itās not just her! Just let me finishā¦ Itās actually Micahās idea and she asked Kaley profuselyā¦ā
āAnd?ā
āKaley agreed but I didnātā¦ā
āThen how did it happen then?! This story of yours is starting to get woozy~ Youāre telling the truth but youāre not making any sense, you doofus!ā
āJ-Just let me tell the whole thing before you interject, a-alright?ā
āFineā¦ continue.ā
āSince we have this rule that I told you earlierā¦ I obviously disagreed and I brought her up to my room to do the uhā¦ private-public thing with everyoneā¦ butā¦ Kaley justā¦ justā¦ donāt get me wrongā¦ I love herā¦ I really do f.u.c.k.i.n.g love her but sometimesā¦ I just go along with anything she says because sheād be happy with it except one other thing Iām extremely trying to get her to change her m-mindā¦ā
āAnd that is?ā
āT-Thatās not i-importantā¦ letās get back to what I was saying e-earlierā¦ I said that I go along with what she wants sometimes but there are still cases when I enjoy and have fun with everyone even if Iā¦ even if Iād just rather spend all my time with her. Kinda hypocritical, right? I kept saying I love her and Iād rather just be with her but Iād still partake with what she wants whether I go along with it or expect it and sometime even want itā¦ Itās too complicatedā¦ā
āā¦ā
āSometimesā¦ sometimesā¦ I justā¦ I just hate that I would think with my di- my g-genitalsā¦ sorry for being vulgarā¦ā
āI think weāre already past that after you told me that you two had intercourse in front of everyone.ā
āAhā¦ N-Neverthelessā¦ Iāll keep an eye on itā¦ā
āSure, continue.ā
āI pride myself being a genius but when it comes to these thingsā¦ Iām f.u.c.k.i.n.g stupid. I donāt knowā¦ Sometimes I like itā¦ sometimes I donāt but get thisā¦ I still enjoy itā¦ Well, it might be because doing it releases a few things in our brains and it relieves me from everything thatās happening outside but stillā¦ I canāt just cherry pick what I want in our relationship and just simply tell her to stop what I donāt like just because I wanted toā¦ It isnāt as simple.ā
āDo you two talk atleast? You knowā¦ after doing it but you knowā¦ when itās just the two of you?ā
āAlways. Even if we didnāt do it we always talkā¦ We always talk about everything and we had a serious one back thenā¦ But please donāt ask me about that, itās not fair for her if sheās not here. Thatās her story to talk about, not mine.ā
Marisha just looked at me solemnly with a saddened expression, āSheās my daughter, I know. Who do you think talks to her each time she made a bad decision or was just crying as she opened the door to our home? Who do you think is the only person she could talk to when everything is just falling apart? Trust me, I knowā¦ But thank you for saying that, that means a lot to me.ā
I pursed my lip as I looked down, āI-Iām sorryā¦ I shouldnāt have said thatā¦ā
āWhat are you apologizing for? You never did anything wrong, right? And if you ever did, itās by accident and you never meant to do it. You promised me something last time and Iām sure youāre keeping it.ā
āOf courseā¦ alwaysā¦ u-ummā¦ isnāt there something you wanted to tell me? Iā¦ I appreciate that we talked like this but I kinda wanna know the reasonā¦ā
Marisha chuckled, āI said it earlier, right? Weāre just talkingā¦ noā¦ talking is a part of it but I wanted to pick your head as well.ā
āT-Thatās it?ā
āIāve talked to each and every person in your place and this is only one of the few times that we seriously talked to each other about your relationship with my daughter or any other subject. As you said earlier, I needed to be fair. I just dropped by here to give you the same reminders Iām giving her because Iām sure that something happened here that Iām not particularly fond of.ā
āBut stillā¦ā
āI know! I get your rules with each other but Iām still her mother, remember? What I said to you two last time had more or less happened but Iāll make sure once I talk to them later if theyāre going through with their decision or not. I donāt want to meddle even if I wanted to but I sure as hell could give some advice. Take note, I really give good advice. Orā¦ if you just wanted to ventā¦ Iām always here. Itās always nice talking to you.ā
I faintly smiled as I looked at her, āThank youā¦ā
Marishaās face suddenly turned blank, āNo.ā
I got confused, āHuh?ā
āNo. I said no. Are you even listening? This is the part where you ask for my advice.ā
āAhā¦ā
āHahaha! You should have seen your face! But Iām serious about giving one. Whether you listen to me or not, I just wanted to leave a few things coming from someone that walked a little further than you in life. Youāre a very intelligent human being but youād still need to experience more in life. Iād happily share a few from my pages.ā
āOkayā¦ā
āHmm? Okay what?ā
I breathed deeply for a moment and then I looked at Marisha straight in the eye, āIād like to ask some advice about marrying your daughter.ā
