Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse

Chapter 99 - 99 - The Blackening Wound

"They are zombies?" Tian Ai went to the bathroom, washing her hands thoroughly. She wetted a towel and placed it on her bleeding wound. The nails marks were not the worst wound she had gotten whist on her hits. This was just a small scratch.

The young lad named Zou Yue stood by the doorway, trembling softly. His tears spilled down like the Niagara, continuous and unstoppable.

'this kid really likes to cry....'

He suddenly squatted down, scaring her a bit.

.

"Get up! Now,"

He gently touched her shin with trembling hands. "I—I failed you.....I failed you Tian Ai. I could have saved you. I could have..."

His heart ached so much. Last life, at least he survived for 10 years and had so much experience, but why ....why couldn't he save his sister?

Not even a day passed, and she got scratched.

He placed a clean cloth on the wound. Getting scratched usually will turn any into a zombie but sometime a few survive.

But the chances are very low.

"Tian Ai... you have to fight it. Our parents are waiting for you," with tears in his eyes, he held her clean hands. "We'll wait here for a few days. After you get better, we shall go to them. I swear I will help you get better,"

He held back his tears and smiled a little.

Tian Ai just let go if his hand "it's a fucking scratch," she pulled him up. "It's not a big deal. A Tetanus shot can deal with it. Why are you talking as if I am dying?,"

"But you are dying." his wet tears dripped onto their interlocked hands.

She let go of his hands instantly. "Enough of this. I don't want to deal with your stupidity." She went over to the bed and started to bandage the wound. "Be a man, why do you cry for everything?"

Yue did not answer her rather, he glanced at her small bleeding wound, silently sobbing.

"Goodness' sake. Are you sure we are related? You sob so much that it's hurting my ear," she pushed his moping head away.

"sorry.. sorry. You need to rest. I heard that once scratched will get sick. You need to take ample rest." He helped her stand up.

She let go of his hand. "I'm not a fucking invalid,"

"l.. I see." Yue picked up his bag and his sharpened knifes and slowly moved out. "Let's go stay in a safer place,"

'Safer? what does he mean?' Tian Ai doubtfully followed after him. They both left to the room.

walking through the blood soaked hallway, Zou Yue pulled himself together.

As of now, Tian Ai needed a lot of rest and her fever needs to be controlled at all cost. He had heard stories that once a young military soldier was bitten by a zombie badly. He was burning a fever right after. His commanders soaked him in cold and his fever broke through.

He did not keno how much of the story was true. But he firmly wanted to believe that his sister will survive in this lifetime.

'She did once…. she will survive again right?'

Zou Yue recognised her the moment he saw her face. Only thought that hit him was why didn't I think about that before.

In fact, he has met in his previous life. She, his sister, was the person who gave him that information run on Fan Xui.

The world is so small. He was so close to his sister, yet they were worlds apart.

He glanced back at her. 'that means she will survive, right? Right?'

A small hope arose in his heart.

He moved to a corridor he knew was unoccupied. With a small bobby pin, he opened the lock and gestured for her to follow.

Tian Ai rolled her eyes and walked in, pushing out of the way. "Don't be a douche. I can open the door myself,"

He closed the door and locked it after him. He carefully placed the chair next to the door in case someone might break in.

Yue touched her forehead. It was starting to get hot.

"We need to work fast, come," he pulled her over to the bathtub.

"What are you doing?" she firmly stood her ground right outside the bathroom.

"Helping you,"

Tian Ai frowned deeply. 'What is this guy doing now.... fuck, did I get caught by a crazy psychopath?'

"Get off. I don't want a bath."

"You need to. Your fever will burn hotter by the minute. Take a bath." He helped fill the tub up.

Even though the city was under blackout, the hotel must have had reserve water stored in the septic tank.

He filled it up to the halfway point and gestured for her to hop in.

Tian Ai just peered at it. "I don't want to."

"Please.. please get in,"

She peered at him. "Look away." she pulled off her coat and stepped in. "satisfied. Jeez I barely know you for an hour and yet here I am doing what've you tell me to." She grumbled, slashing water over his tears stained face.

Yue smiled softly. "We are siblings after all.."

He gently held her wet legs out. The wound was starting to get a black mark around it, indicating that the virus was infecting her body intensely.

Tian Ai peered at it with a frown. 'Something is definitely wrong? Did that human have rabies or something? It definitely feels like it,'

The person who attacked her was not behaving as usual. His back was bent back at an odd angle as he was charging at her. Even a professional gymnast would find it hard to hold that position. Even so, that position will not give any strategic advantage while attacking.

'Are they really zombies? Is this a prank...' she peered at him. Yue seemed so busy cleaning out her wound. His water tap eyes were still dripping rogue tears here and there.

She chuckled softly. 'Idiot,'

Her face stiffened. 'Shit, did I just chuckle? No, no no this guy is a fraud! I can't be duped,'

She gripped his hands. "Enough, it's just septic,"

"m—must be..." he held that stiff smile on his face while he cleaned that wound again and again with water. But the darkness around it only kept spreading.

Soon her smaller veins ear that area started to turn black.

"oh god.." he sat down leaning his head on the tub. "Please god... please... I don't want to lose her too... please..."
