However, they were more than happy to see him having returned in one piece since that worry always irked them, even when they meditated.

Nonetheless, once everyone gathered, he explained everything that went on for the past three weeks with clarity but also obscurity as he omitted various parts that would cause them karmic burden.

Then, when they returned to the mini-realm, they had been ambushed by Autarch Elluro Coldwing, and Davis had apparently almost died as his soul sea got severed in half, but he instantly healed back to health.

Myria frowned when she heard it, but the others looked at him with worshipful expressions at his tale of defeating the strongest Heaven's Warrior in the Lower Realms, who was tasked to kill them actually get sent out of the void by Davis's machinations.

After that, Davis and the others returned to this realm and left Shirley and a few others here before going back again and dealing with the mess.

They hid the captured Heaven's Warriors in the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm's Voidshade Chasm but met with Vereina and an old witch who was above the Empyrean Stage!

At this point, everyone was interested and begged him to reveal the name of the next stage, but Davis firmly refused. He turned to look at Myria.

"We'll discuss it later since chances are you already know but only forgot."

They made fun of her for a while before finally moving on to the only thing about this journey, which made them all look solemn. Needless to say, many weren't amused, but more than that, they didn't want Davis to feel sad since what was done was indeed done.

They kept their mouths shut and expressions indifferent, not wanting to make him worry anymore as they inwardly swore to protect him instead.

"So this covenant… are all rules active?" Myria finally asked amidst the tense atmosphere.

"Yes," Davis nodded, his eyes clear as though he didn't feel restricted at all, "I'm confined within this realm, cannot kill Heaven's Warriors, cannot kill anyone below the Empyrean Stage, cannot command, influence or hire others to kill on my behalf for the next ten years. I cannot enter the Second Layer for a hundred years and the First Layer for five hundred years. Every rule is active as there are four-minute rings over the sword handle stabbed into my soul. I couldn't see them before, but I guess the moment I appeared in this realm marks the full activation of the covenant. I guess three rings would be gone in ten years, and one would remain for five hundred years."

He chuckled, "As a result, the Celestial Transcendent will know my location, becoming able to search for my location after ten years all the way up to five hundred years, so I need him to make a mistake and extend that time to the next hundred years, lessening that time period to three hundred and ninety years. Even if not, I don't plan to leave this sword as it is in my soul when we're nearing the latter half of the ten-year period, so don't worry."

Davis looked at Tia, his gaze softening as he patted Viridia's back. The latter was fully asleep now after hearing his stories.

The other children were also as small as her and didn't pay attention to what he said. They wouldn't be able to understand much until later when they grew up and came out of autopilot mode, gaining self-awareness.

Nonetheless, he still couldn't believe it when Tia uttered something as thundering as breaking the covenant the Celestial Transcendent cast on him. He couldn't help but remember her words after she diagnosed him.

She said, but Davis frowned. She didn't explain how she was going to resolve it, and he was afraid that she might require some sacrifices, so he merely said that they'd see to it later as there was no rush. There were still ten years left, after all.

Davis stood up and gave adorable Viridia back to Evelynn.

He clasped his palms, appearing emotional, "We have come so far but improved to our current level, something we would've never imagined in our dreams. However, never make the mistake of believing that this is going to be our end. Although I'm hit with a restrictive covenant, it doesn't change anything about what we have to do, survive, and grow enough to be able to handle each and every foe the heavens or anything throws at us. My beauties, will you follow this foolish man to the end of the world?"

"A foolish question~" Mingzhi smirked, "Our life and death are always bound together."

She raised a cup out of nowhere, causing the others to raise their hands as they summoned small saucer-like cups.

Davis blinked. What was he supposed to pour in them? Liquor? Some of them were pregnant. He just took out spirit water and flicked his finger, causing all of them to be instantly filled.

Mingzhi didn't wait for anyone and led the charge as she swallowed the spirit water whole.

"To our Emperor!~"

Isabella and the others followed suit, yelling out their favorite moniker or title as they drank the cup. Illumina and Yotan also swore undying fealty, as if it were something selling at a market, yet their intent couldn't be genuine anymore.

Davis couldn't express his emotions at this moment. His heart swelled with numerous emotions, mainly affection and love and a huge sense of accomplishment that made him feel like he wouldn't care if he were to die suddenly. Of course, it was only an illusion as he wanted to live and repay them for trusting him, but they almost brought him to tears with their actions.
