EMPEROR'S RECKONING

Chapter 709: The Plan After This

Chapter 709: The Plan After This

Mavis took the pill on the table to have a closer look at them. His brows furrowed as he rotated around the pill in his hand.

“That’s the Angush Pill, or whatever it’s called,” said Kesya as she shrugged. “I took it just a moment before my young master rendered the place to ruin.”

(How though…) thought Mavis as he gulped. He was barely moved indeed at the time, but his eyes were looking in Lyon’s way then. There was hardly any moment to react, let alone to reach out the pill from where she was seated.

“How did you do that?” asked Mavis as he scratched the back of his head. He was the famous young master of the Sky Clan. The word ‘genius’ came from the day he sprung out of her mother’s womb. Yet, he couldn’t believe that even with that narrow proximity between his eyes and her being, she couldn’t catch her moving.

“I just took it,” said Kesya as her nose expanded due to the imbued proudness from within.

“Wait, you have that?” asked Lyon as he pointed at the Angush Pill in Mavis’s hand.

“Huh?” Mavis raised his brows as he looked at Lyon. (Why wouldn’t he notice it?). “Do you want it?”

“Nah,” Lyon shrugged. “It’s just a drug, I can make some if I want to.”

“Really?!” Mavis pushed his chair back with his calves as he stood up in disbelief. “Y-You can make the Angush Pill?”

Lyon was a bit taken back by Mavis’s reaction. He knew the latter would be surprised but not to the point of standing up. Lyon looked away as he answered, “W-Well, maybe yes.”

“He~” Mavis squinted his eyes before he sat back down.

“What?” Lyon asked.

“Nothing,” Mavis shook his head.

“Good! Then let’s eat,” said Lyon as he picked up the fork beside his plate. “?!”

“What’s wrong?” asked Mavis. “Is something wrong with the food?”

“Absolutely!” answered Lyon as he furrowed his brows.

“What?!” Graham snapped his eyes open with a furious glare. His presence exploded as his eyes landed on the shrieking waitress.

“Calm down, Graham,” said Lyon as he slapped the back of his hand against Graham’s chest.

A single tap was all it needed before Mavis could feel his heart calming down. The presence was undoubtedly suffocating and he looked at the tall ashen-haired man in a terrifying new light. (This one was silent most of the time, but holy crap, his strength is no joke).

“Oi, waitress,” Lyon raised his hand and called out against the waitress who limped down. She had faced death—though not phsically.

“Y-Yes?” she regained her consciousness before Lyon sighed. He pushed his chair back before he stood up.

“Eh?” The waitress blinked as she watched the young man approach her. Her pupils shrink at a frightening rate before she used her hands to push her body back to a wall. “N-No, No! No! Please! Sir!”

Lyon kept going before he knelt.

“Eek!”

“Are you alright?”

“Eh?” The waitress gradually opened her eyes the moment she heard the warm gentle tone before the charm of his face radiated.

“Oof, there he goes breaking a maiden’s heart again!” Kesya shouted at the back.

Lyon twitched his lips before he took the waitress’s hand, “Can you stand up?”

“E-En,” the waitress nodded with a red hue on her cheeks before she got up together with him. “S-Sorry…”

“It’s alright, it’s my fault for being too spontaneous. I’m sorry,” said Lyon as the sad look on his face bought her pity.

“N-No, it, it’s me that was overreacting,” said the waitress. “I-Is there anything that I can help you with?”

“Oh right,” Lyon smiled, “Are all of my orders have been served?”

“Y-Yes, sir,” answered the waitress.

“Really? Hmm, that’s weird, how come there are so few,” Lyon pondered as he rubbed his chin.

Meanwhile, a certain woman with jade-colored hair felt a shock from her spine. She put down the fork albeit with a slight tremble of her arm. She feigned ignorance as she didn’t look in Lyon’s way.

“Well, if that’s the case then please, I want two of each menu that I have ordered before,” said Lyon.

“Y-Yes, sir,” said the waitress with a strong nod.

“Oh, and please don’t call me sir, call me, young master Lyon,” said Lyon with a genuine smile.

“Y-Yes, yo-young master,” said the waitress as she blushed.

Lyon smiled as he nodded before he turned around. He failed to notice the rigid stance that Lumina was taking and sat on his seat.

Mavis smiled wryly as he looked at the innocent waitress who got her heart lynched by Lyon’s charm. He shook his head before looking at Lyon. “Brother, you should aware of your charm more.”

Cecile poured her drink, “Trust me, he is very well aware of it.”

Mavis snorted before he covered his laugh. He couldn’t believe his own wife would say that.

Lyon shrugged as he took in the remark without a hint of denying it.

The group then feast on the food once the next batch came in. Mavis didn’t pry further as to who Cecile truly was but his eyes definitely glanced at the group as a whole. He was looking for any sort of hints that would probably hint away their true identity, but until the last piece of meat, he saw nothing.

(Not even a symbol huh) thought Mavis as he gulped his drink. (Either they are really careful, or they didn’t have one).

“Brother Lyon,” Mavis smiled as he saw Lyon laid back in satisfaction with his tummy.

“What?” Lyon’s eyelids didn’t even open fully. “What do you want?”

“What are your plans after this?” asked Mavis with a smile.

“Hm?” Lyon frowned before he straightened his back. He squinted his eyes, “I have no plans as of yet.”

“We are going to do Ivy a favor, remember?” said Cecile.

(Fuck!) Lyon cursed inside his mind. The last thing he want to add was another male at his party. “Yes, of course, we are going to a… cave I think?”

“Oh? Which cave?” asked Mavis.

“Are you familiar with the Hundred-Petals Flower?” asked Lumina.

“I do!” Mavis nodded. “It’s kept in one of the most dangerous caves though, some said it’s not a cave but a dungeon instead.”

“A dungeon?” Lyon raised his brows. “As in prison?”

Mavis shook his head, “Dungeon as in a dungeon. The real dungeon with dangerous beasts and plants inside.”

“Oh?” Lyon raised his brows. His eyes were revealing how intrigued he was. “Is there any treasure there?”

“Well, if you count wild plants as a treasure for alchemists then, yes, there are treasures there,” said Mavis as he nodded.

“I mean Golds, or Imperial Beads or something, you know, something that’s valuable for a common person, a legendary sword? Spear?” asked Lyon with a sigh.

“Nope, no such thing,” Mavis shook his head before he hummed. “Hmm… though I can’t be sure.”

“What do you mean?” asked Lyon.

“The cave is probably not explored all the way, Lyon,” said Cecile before she looked at Mavis. “Am I right?”

Mavis took a cold air from his gritted teeth. “Remind me not to underestimate a woman’s instinct, especially Lyon’s wife.”

Cecile chuckled as she let out a blow from her nose.

“Are you going to join us?” asked Lumina. “What about your guards?”

“Oh?” Lyon raised his brows, “That’s right, where are yours? I’ve seen the Teardrop’s and the Red Lotus’s ones, but not the Sky Clan’s.”

Mavis put up a peace sign as he answered, “I didn’t bring any.”

“It’s not like you need any in the first place,” said Lyon as he raised his brows.

Both of them laughed before Mavis stood up. “I guess I should be going.”

“Where are you going in such a hurry?” asked Lyon. (Just go).

“I need to speak with the headmaster, I feel bad about plunging this mess on top of the old-timer, haha!” Mavis laughed.

“Alright,” Lyon didn’t even try to hold him back, “Be careful and give my best regards!”

“Sure!” Mavis waved his hand as he left.

Hilde suddenly let out a sigh of relief.

“What’s wrong?” asked Lyon. “You’ve been feeling restless lately.”

(Are you serious?) Hilde’s brow twitched as she heard his words. Especially with the innocent face that he put up, her blood boiled into a headache.

“Sometimes, you’re really dull,” said Lumina as she sighed.

“What?” Lyon raised his brows before he burst out to chuckle. “I’m just joking.”

Cecile put down her drink. “This is actually perfect. Those three would definitely stop nagging us to be in charge of the Mortal World now.”

“Yeah, seeing how our young master behaves and all,” giggled Kesya.

“Oi,” Lyon frowned. “I’m right here you know.”

Meanwhile, the two princesses were surprised by her revelation. However, before they could pop up the question, Cecile glanced at them both, “Don’t bother.”

Lyon smiled at the sight.
