Chapter 158 - They Hate Each Other
She didn’t even change before going to bed, and if Hunter hadn’t tried to kiss her, she wouldn’t have realised she didn’t brush her teeth today before going to sleep. She hadn’t known she would fall asleep amidst crying her heart out. Now that her soul was at peace, she remembered she didn’t have dinner either.Â
Hera splashed the cool water over her face and flinched at the cold sensation it brought. Her reflection stared back through the mirror, and she grimaced at her swollen eyes. Once she finished brushing her teeth, Hera checked in the mirror to see if her teeth were shining. Satisfied, she walked out of the bathroom.Â
Hunter scowled when Hera walked into the room, wiping her face with the hem of her top. His face scrunched up in disgust.Â
“There’s a stocked pile of fresh towels in the cabinets for a reason,” he said in disapproval. Hera grinned broadly in response and tugged the hem of her top further up to wipe her forehead. Hunter was about to scold and lecture her about her mannerism, but his words died down in his mouth..Â
Hera didn’t see how his jaw dropped open.Â
His breath hitched while his large eyes widened to their full size.Â
The sight in front of him stole his breath away. His heart skipped a beat and went on a wild hunt after that.Â
Hera’s soft tummy and her belly button were on display, and he could see the hem of her black lacy bra inside her top. Hunter moved his eyes up to look at her face, but she was busy wiping her face dry, oblivious to the sexual tension she unknowingly created. Hunter’s gaze dipped down to her exposed soft meat on their own accord.Â
He inhaled sharply and crossed his arms in front of him, fingers gripping each arm tightly as if compelling himself to keep them locked there. The vision in his mind only fucked with his sanity.Â
‘My boyfriend’s. Huh, those sinful words. How the fuck am I supposed to resist the temptation?’
Once the meaning behind those words registered in his brain, he couldn’t stop imagining.Â
He envisioned lifting that top a bit further up as his eyes wished to bask in the bliss without any barrier. His fingers itched to touch the mellowness of those full breasts, hands desperate to hold them and feel their weight. He wanted to sink his teeth into the soft flesh of Hera’s tummy. He couldn’t wait to mark her skin with hickeys all around that navel.Â
Grinding his teeth, Hunter cursed inwardly.Â
‘Fuck, who’s going to tell this innocent creature that it isn’t the right time to turn me on?’
Hera finally looked at him, and Hunter managed to rip his gaze off her body in time to meet her eyes. His Goddess blew him a kiss and disappeared into the closet again.Â
He squeezed his eyelids shut, threw his head back, slightly banging into the headboard and groaned in utter frustration. He could bet, Hera wouldn’t even know what impact her innocent action brought on him. She didn’t have a single clue about the sinful images his mind and heart were drooling over.Â
Hera emerged from the closet, and Hunter sighed defeatedly. She had changed into one of his black T-shirts but had kept her new shorts on, which was barely visible under that large shirt.Â
Hera jumped on the bed, and Hunter pulled his head back in reflex as she was about to bump into him. She giggled, and he smelled the freshness of the minty toothpaste in her breath.Â
“It’s almost three am in the middle of the night. You woke up to brush your teeth now?” He asked, sounding surprised. But Hera saw the scowl on his face, his lips twitching downward, unimpressed. Without warning, Hera moved closer, and Hunter’s eyes widened in surprise. She kissed him on the forehead and smiled against his skin. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
“I forgot to freshen up before going to bed,” she said, kissing both of his eyelids one after the other. “And you wanted to kiss me,” she stated, dropping another kiss in the area between his eyebrows and above the nose. His heart skipped a beat at their proximity, and her hands exploring his naked torso didn’t seem innocent anymore.Â
“Bad breath and all that, you know. How can I turn you off?” She asked, kissing the tip of his nose. Hunter’s hot breath fanned her chin.Â
‘Oh, if only you could see how turned on I am right now.’
She cupped his face in her palms, angling his face to kiss him on his cheeks. “I never saw you and Eric fight before,” she said and kissed the left corner of his mouth.Â
Hunter didn’t miss the sudden change in the topic. He grabbed her hands and stopped it from moving further. Before he could say something, Hera kissed the other corner of his mouth and giggled. “Your stubble is pricking my skin,” she stated before kissing his jaw. Hunter sucked in a sharp breath, and Hera loved the way his Adam’s apple moved as he swallowed.Â
She sniffed at his skin before kissing his Adam’s apple. Hunter forcefully pushed her away when Hera tried to straddle him.Â
“Hera,” her name slipped out from his lips in a breathless whisper. He cleared his throat before speaking. “Are we playing a seduction game now?” He asked rhetorically. He knew she was exactly doing the same.Â
“I’ve only learnt it from you, and you said we’ll talk later,” Hera said, fluttering her eyelashes. Hunter silently stared at her for a few seconds, and it seemed Hera enjoyed the staring contest. Hunter looked away first, and Hera smirked in victory.Â
“Don’t think you could do much with your legs this badly injured anyway,” Hera said, inclining her head as she eyed his bandaged wounds. Hunter glared at her, sharp eyes narrowing. He scoffed before pulling her back on his lap, forcing her to straddle him. Hera squealed fearing that she might hurt his injuries and struggled to get off his lap.Â
“What do you know about seduction, Mrs Hunter? Whatever you’ve learnt so far is just the first page of the book. You don’t even know that there are many ways to make love and you think these little injuries will keep me? If I want to devour you now, no one and nothing will stop me,” Hunter said, gritting his teeth. “And seeing how desperate you seem right now, I don’t think you would want to stop me,” he added and smirked arrogantly.Â
Hera returned the glare while Hunter pulled her more into his chest. Sinking her teeth into his chest, she bit hard in retaliation. He hissed and cursed under his breath. Taking advantage of his distraction, Hera tugged her hand out of his grip and moved away from him. He watched while she shifted to the edge of the bed.Â
With her legs stretched out, arms crossed around her chest, Hera sat imitating his position. They sat in opposite directions, staring at each other. His eyes slid down to her chest as it rose and fell with every breath she took seething in anger. Her arms folded around her breasts only pushed them up more, enhancing their size and shape.Â
Huffing in annoyance, Hera uncrossed her arms, and Hunter’s eyes met with hers. A smug smirk graced his lips, and she flipped him the bird in reply.Â
Bending his torso, Hunter leaned forward, and his hand reached out in a flash. Before Hera could analyse his move, his fingers wrapped around her ankle and he pulled her in one swift, forceful tug. Hera kicked him on his chest with her other foot before Hunter caught it as well. He grabbed her hands and pulled her to him. When she couldn’t win against his grip, Hera cursed.Â
“Motherfucker, how are your legs not hurting now? What illegal drugs did that doctor feed you?” Hera asked through her gritted teeth. “Told you, nothing will stop me,” he stated very rudely before attempting to kiss her. Hera bit his lips to stop the kiss, but he didn’t seem to mind it.Â
“I hate you,” Hera said against his lips. “I hate you more,” Hunter replied. Hera gasped in shock and pulled away. “What?” Hunter asked when she glared at him with hurt plastered all over her face. “You’re not supposed to say that,” Hera said bitingly, her tone accusing.Â
“Well, you insulted me first. How can you doubt my ability to make love to you and use my injuries to mock me?” Hunter asked indignantly, sounding offended as well. Hera gave him an incredulous look. “You misunderstood me, you asshole,” she yelled. “I meant to say that if you decided to dodge answering my questions, you wouldn’t be able to run away from me now that your legs are injured,” Hera offered in her defence.Â
They glared at each other in utter silence for a few more seconds until Hera decided to speak.Â
“You said you hate me,” she accused.Â
Hunter scoffed.
“You said it first,” he stated accusingly, finger pointing at her.Â
“You said you hate me more,” she said, resentment filling her tone.Â
