Chapter 534 In A Class All Her Own…
Once the married trio finally looked like they were ready, Nyx began doing some stretches of her own.
She looked at the three of them and saw that her hands were still empty, causing her to tilt her head just a bit.
“No weapons…? I hope you all aren’t planning to baby me.”
Abaddon heard Seras’ teeth start to grind together and he all but chuckled.
Like his deceased mentor Satan, Abaddon was at a level where he was equally as dangerous with a weapon as he was without.
His decision not to grab a weapon was less about ‘babying’ Nyx and more so about feeling her power with his own body.
The reason Seras and Lisa decided not to use them was because this was supposed to be a cute and friendly little spar.
“Nyx…Don’t you think you’re looking down on us too much?” Seras asked through a clenched smile.
“Only because you all look so cute when you’re frustrated!”
Seras finally cracked a few of her fangs from clenching her teeth as she smiled.
She held out her hand and a monstrous spear appeared in her palm.
It was dyed almost entirely red and was nearly eight feet in length.
The blade itself was black in color and almost three feet long and as wide as a refrigerator door.
Suddenly, the black spearhead twitched and a large reptilian eye opened up in the center and focused directly onto Nyx.
‘Oooh.. Scary.’ The gddess of night didn’t recognize Odin’s former weapon Gungnir, but she was enthralled by it nonetheless.
“HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!”
Letting out a loud battle cry that reached even Tehom, Seras released a column of flame and raw energy that pierced even the sky.
The heat coming off Seras was monumentally detrimental.
Previously, the world Abaddon had chosen to do battle on was empty, but vibrant.
Snowy white grass, a slightly opaque blueish sky, and an abundance of wild flaura and fauna.
But with the release of Seras’ powers, not only was everything dying quickly, but the very ozone layer protecting the planet was burning away due to the heat.
Forty-five seconds was all it took for the entire northern hemisphere to become uninhabitable, barren, hellish…
Desolate.
Whether she was pretending or not was uncertain, but Nyx fanned her face as if she was beginning to get hot.
Suddenly, her dress transformed into a bikini top with a long and frilly skirt like one would wear on the beach.
She even fabricated some sunglasses over her eyes for good measure.
“Ahh! Much better.” she nodded in satisfaction.
“FALL!”
Seras’ roar redrew Nyx’s attention and caused her to look upward.
“Oh… No wonder I felt a little warm.”
From the moment that Seras had unleashed her aura, that energy hadn’t just been dissipating.
It had been concentrated into a dense, bloody red sun high above the atmosphere.
It was quickly becoming big enough that it had already started to develop it’s own gravitational pull.
Were Abaddon not actively keeping this planet from being pulled in, all of them would have gotten a real sauna treatment.
As if the unholy sun weren’t big enough, at Seras’ command, millions of flaming spears began to descend from the sky with their destination being solely focused on Nyx.
Seeing that Seras was trying so hard, Nyx felt that she would be remiss if she did not put forth at least a little effort.Holding out her hands, Nyx summoned two unique weapons into her grasp.
As Nyx was a greek goddess, one would have expected her to pull out a spear, or even a shield and sword.
Instead, she completely defied all expectations by pulling out twin sabers.
The handles were entirely black and made from some sort of beautiful jeweled material, while the blades themselves were bone white.
‘Those are … teeth?’ Abaddon realized.
Nyx switched to a backhanded grip on her left saber as the spears from above began to approach her.
Faster than the mortal eye could perceive, she swung one of her blades above her head and cut through the air.
In an instant, the thousands of spears that were about to fall right on top of Nyx’s head were suddenly snuffed out like they were mere candles.
If that weren’t surprising enough, the ‘sun’ that Seras had created was almost entirely cut in half.
‘Rats… I meant to cut the whole thing. I knew I was a little rusty.’
The sound of a loud sonic boom cut through the air as Seras lunged at Nyx with her spear pointed directly at her.
In a remarkable display of agility, Nyx flipped into the air and landed on top of Seras’ spearhead weightlessly.
With a single swipe of her saber, she cut Seras’ throat open and caused boiling blood to hit her feet.
But what was a little injury like that to someone like her?
Parting her lips and opening her mouth wide, a torrent of unnaturally red flames came spewing from her lungs.
Nyx ended up taking the blast full force in the face, and Seras excitedly waited to see just how much damage she could do to a primordial.
But as she waited for the flames to die down, her head was suddenly grabbed from behind with no warning, and she was slammed onto the ground with enough force to cause an earthquake.
Looking up, she was surprised to find not one, but two Nyx kneeling over her.
“Let this be your first lesson, sweet girl. No matter how heaven defying, physical attacks on primordials are no good.
Neither are ones that strike the soul for that matter, since we don’t really have them.
We are concepts, aspects, and ideas given consciousness.
We can make as many bodies as we like, since they are effectively like putting on socks for us, and they will all be just as powerful as I wish them to be.
Although some corners of existence force us to use vessels which have their own issues…
But I digress. The only thing that can wound a primordial, or even send us into the final rest would be another primordial.
It’s a pity that you all don’t know how to use that eldritch blood, or things might be different since that would… well, no matter.
Now that you are more aware of the gap between us, what will you do, cutie?”
Any rational person would have just heard that this endeavor wold be hopeless.
But Seras wasn’t exactly rational and hadn’t been for a very long time.
Something Nyx was due to learn in a very short span of time.
“I’ll show you something cute, you ancient bitch..! LISA!”
At a speed of 0.00002 nanoseconds, the beautiful and charming Lisa appeared in the air above the two Nyx.
In her hands, she wielded two four-pronged tridents made from swirling black and yellow lightning.
Without a moment’s hesitation, she threw one through the back of Nyx, and another threw the chest of her doppelgänger.
Like lightning rods, the two spears called down twin enormous bolts of lightning that were larger than any sky scraper fell out of the sky onto the bodies of the goddesses.
This gave the girls more than enough time to recover.
As Lisa helped up her sister, the two of them suddenly whirled around and raised their weapons to defend against a new copy of Nyx.
She moved like some sort of deadly exotic dancer as she repeatedly struck her blades against Seras’ and Lisa’s weapons as if she were trying to see how much it would take to break them.
And somehow, she was defending against the both of them splendidly, almost as if she were going through a light walk in the park.
The longer that the battle ensued, the greater that Lisa felt like her knowledge and expertise was expanding.
To the family, she was something like Eris.
They often didn’t let her do anything as they believed her to be much to gentle and delicate.
But unlike Eris, Lisa was a wrath goddess.
Which meant that she was about as far from a helpless mature beauty as one could get.
Her trident thrusts became more and more frequent, and they crackled like booming thunder.
For a few flickering moments, her luminous yellow eyes would become red as she lost herself in the battle.
Out of nowhere, a torrential downpour arrived to replace the desolate heat, and was accompanied by the loudest thunder ever heard and powerful bolts of lightning.
But that wasn’t enough for Lisa.
‘I can do more, I know it..! I won’t let them carry me forever!’
At that moment, Nyx felt a change occur in the atmosphere.
A hellish bolt of purple lightning fell out of the sky and split the entire continent in half with it’s destructive might.
For the first time, Nyx was surprised.
Because she knew for a fact that what had just narrowly avoided wasn’t normal lightning.
It wasn’t even magical.
Rather than being charged with electrons like it should have been, that bolt was comprised of positrons.
Making it cosmic lightning instead of the earthbound sort.
And cosmic lightning is almost always accompanied by…
Taking a moment to glance upward, she found a cloudy looking cluster of swirling purple, red, and blue colors.
It would have been beautiful to look at, were it not continually dropping bolts of lightning onto the surface and ripping out entire chunks of land miles long were being ripped out of the planet and swallowed up.
Even the chunk of broken ground that the three goddesses were doing battle on had started to lift upwards, but neither Lisa nor Seras really seemed to care.
Their only focus was on improving themselves by whatever means necessary, and earning the acknowledgement of Nyx by however possible.
And oblivious to them, they had already gotten it a few times over by now.
But still, she wasn’t unaware of the absence of one person.
‘Where’s my handsome husband-to-be, hm…?’ she wondered.
Unsurprisingly, she found Abaddon quite easily.
On the underside of one of the chunks of rock that was being pulled up into the sky, she found him hanging upside down by his clawed feet and hands while staring directly at her.
Using all of the power in his legs, Abaddon launched himself off the underside of the rock and shot towards Nyx like a bullet.
At the moment that he reached her, he threw out a hard kick with his leg that collided with the goddess’ arm at full force.
Once the kinetic force was transferred from him to her, the entire floating continent they were standing on broke apart into a storm of rocky debris.
