Chapter 383: Arena?
383 Arena?
A few minutes earlier, just after Alex met Sana and asked Evelyn to go away.
Although Alex asked her to go away for a second, she just kept following him as they were chatting while walking around to look like they were on a date.
She looked at the woman with hostile eyes. Evelyn was pouting the whole time.
"What is that woman? Big Brother Alex looks like he knows her, but they are not close like big sister Anna. Is she his mistress that he keeps somewhere? But she said she came from the second rate influence from whatever family in the Northern Continent, especially it seems she calls big sister Song Yu with 'Young Lady.' And what is the deal with second rate influence?
"Is she big sister Song Yu's acquaintance or something? But… Why is she so close to big brother Alex? Even with Big sister Song Yu, he should know her. Just look at that breast! She must be seducing big brother Alex!" She kept complaining as she looked at those two big bouncy mountains. When she looked at her pitiful chest, she immediately got annoyed and threw a few more curses.
She kept following them to make sure she did not do anything to him until Alex suddenly called her. It seemed both of them noticed her from the very beginning. She became tense for a little while before coming toward him.
"What is it, big brother Alex?" Evelyn asked embarrassedly.
When he saw her, doubt came inside his heart again. He then looked at Sana. "Are you sure we are going to be alright if we bring her?"
"..." Even Sana became hesitant when she saw Evelyn. She looked at Alex and asked with Transmission thought, 'Where are the Martial Kings?'
'They are still in Port City. It seems they are going to stay there for a while until the tournament begins. After all, with their powerful aura, the sect masters might feel something odd.' Alex explained.
'Then, it should pose no problem. I am wearing a special treasure from Blackwade Clan to hide my aura, so they also would not feel my Martial King aura. Don't worry, as long as there is no Martial King, I should be able to protect her.' Sana nodded.
Alex looked at her for a while before nodding his head. He then said to Evelyn, "Well, we are going to the arena now. Do you want to go together?"
"Arena? That big arena in the middle of the city?" Evelyn asked.
"Yes."
"Un, I want!" Evelyn glanced at Sana first before agreeing to it.
All of them finally went toward the arena. Luckily, from Alex's information network, it seemed no 'danger' entered the city yet, including the Martial Kings from the Zhou Kingdom. They had been stationed together with the Martial Kings from the Nilis Continent, which was good for him.
They thought they had kept the four influences in the dark, but because of that, Alex could take his time preparing a counterattack.
The moment they reached the middle of the city, they could see a big arena that looked like a colosseum. The appearance was very majestic, but when Alex saw the arena with his Spirit Eyes, he felt a huge amount of Spiritual Energy.
"The wall has been reinforced by an Array to protect the audience from the shockwave produced by the clash of Martial Lords. And I will also be overseeing the tournament so they won't do something reckless." Sana said.
Alex nodded his head. He then looked at the bottom of the arena and saw a few life signs. He was astonished to see them easily. "Does the arena have a basement or something?"
"No. According to the construction team, this is the entire arena. There is no basement or something like that." Sana shook her head.
"I see. Then, we need to search for the entrance to the basement." Alex said.
"It will be a bit hard. If I am not wrong, this arena finished its construction four months ago. After that, the arena is sealed. And if they truly make an underground base or something, searching for the entrance will be hard since they must have prepared for it." Sana said.
Alex secretly took out Njomo's card and summoned him. But, Njomo made it look like he just appeared from Alex's shadow. It made Sana and Evelyn shocked. They wanted to say something about Njomo, but Alex had already beaten them.
"Njomo, Search for the entrance," Alex said.
"Woof!" Njomo nodded and disappeared. Sana was astonished because she could not understand how Njomo could disappear.
Alex chose Njomo because Njomo is in charge of Rainbow Flower Sect. At the same time, with most disciples of Rainbow Flower Sect already arrived at Thine City, he did not have a job anymore.
Alex trusted Njomo could find the entrance without anyone spotting him.
Before he came back, Alex communicated with Evelyn with transmission thought so no one would hear it.
'Listen. Don't shout or even talk, no, try not to make any noise when we are inside.'
Evelyn looked at him with a serious expression and nodded.
Not long after that, Njomo appeared once again and led them inside. Because the tournament would start in two days, the arena had been opened for visitors, so Alex and the others could come inside pretty easily without sneaking.
Njomo led them to a storage room with many weapons inside. He remembered there were many people trying to sell their products outside or inside the arena, and this weapon storage might also be related to that. They did not know why Njomo led them into this room, but Njomo suddenly came toward the corner of the room.
Like a very intelligent shadow dog, Njomo pushed out a big rack for Alex, and at that time, Alex and the others could see a kind of small door behind the rack. It would lead them to a staircase underground.
Njomo led them inside. There were a few people inside, and all of them were Martial Lords. At the same time, they felt they were lucky since they had yet to find a high-level Martial Lord, and the highest of all was only a 5-Star Martial Lord.
Alex did not kill them since it might alarm the enemy before they completed their objective. When he saw them with his Spirit Eyes, he could see the red energy inside of their body. They would most likely have used the Blood Pill. Seeing that, Alex got a bad premonition with this array.
Alex made Njomo lead them without alarming them. It was the same as when Njomo led Anna to inflict a curse on Mega and Intan without alarming everyone. And by the time they reached another level of the basement, All of them were surprised as they could see a giant array.
"This…" Sana looked around dumbfoundedly while Evelyn closed her mouth tightly, trying to not make any noises.
Alex frowned as he felt this Array was familiar. He checked the symbols and finally realized what this array was.
"This is an Elemental Suppression Array. But, this is different from the Elemental Suppression Array from two years ago. Back then, this array could only suppress Martial Grandmasters… but judging from this scale and symbols inside of it, I assume it is enough to suppress Martial Lords." Alex explained while he walked around to observe the entire array.
Sana frowned when she heard that. "Wait! I know about Elemental Suppression Array. But, if this array could even suppress Martial Lords…"
Alex said, "The future is clear! They will truly send Martial Kings first to the arena to kill everyone in the arena. And they should also calculate your existence. That is probably the reason why they bring ten Martial Kings, and together with the five Martial Kings from the Zhou Kingdom, it should be enough to bring you and the other four sect masters down.
"After that, they will start their invasion with that giant army toward each sect. All the people would still be ignorant about this because they think it must be because of the Grand Tournament.
"And with that giant army, they could swallow an entire sect or kingdom in an instant. I assume they won't split their army to minimize their loss. Even if they try to split them, it will only be two armies with 75,000 soldiers each.
"The invasion will be swift to catch all the influence off guard. And ultimately…" Alex paused.
"They will rule the entire Wilow Continent. And with killing me here, they will have enough time to send their entire force. And if this news is known by those people from Sacred Continent… Damn!" Sana finally realized what they were after. Of course, Alex already made a Sound Insulation Array without anyone noticing.
"Big brother, I will inform the people!" Evelyn's face became pale when she heard all of this. After all, Alex had been hiding this information from her. So, it was normal for her to be shocked.
Alex grabbed Evelyn and shook his head. "Don't worry. Since I know their plan, we can make a strategy for a counterattack."
"Indeed, it seems you have made enough preparation for this." Sana looked at Alex.
He nodded before feeling something off. "Wait, If I am not wrong, people who are using Blood Pills won't be affected by this array. If that is the case, the army can also march toward this place. But…"
Alex suddenly thought of a possibility, "What if the army from another influence does not use the Blood Pill? Considering its evil side effect… it should be possible. I need to check them to make sure."
"What will you do? Are you going to break this?" Sana asked.
"What will I do?" Alex smiled as he walked toward the core of the array. He then placed his hand on the ground.
Sana was frowning, but when she saw the symbols slowly turned into another symbol, it changed into astonishment.
"You… you are an Array Master?! No, according to Young Lady, you are only an Alchemist."
Alex did not say anything as he only gave her a smile.
"I put self-destruct symbols in this array. I am afraid if they know they could not use the array, they will be alarmed and cancel this plan. So, I want to make them think they can use it. That way, all of the people involved in this will be out. At that time, the core will self-destruct, and the array will be nonfunctional. For that, I want to ask you to play along with this farce." Alex explained.
"Hmm, I see. After luring all of them out, then we will kill all of them before killing that gigantic army?"
"Yes."
"But, it will be hard to kill that gigantic army. What if they try to run in all directions? With our number alone, we won't be able to catch them all."
"Don't worry. I will make a formation to trap all of them." Alex said.
"Formation? You mean by linking a few arrays together to create a new whole entity called Array Formation?"
"Indeed."
"But, if all of them attack at once…"
"Don't worry. I have prepared to spend a fortune on this. A hundred million Spirit Stones should be enough to trap all of them for a few hours. In fact, it will be better if they try to attack the array, so when our force comes, they will be exhausted." Alex said with an evil smile.
"I see. You are going to open one of the arrays for the entrance. And it should be easy to fight 150,000 soldiers in that case."
"Yes. Well, I am going to recover my loss after killing all the people from the Zhou Kingdom that were involved in this situation."
"Do you need my help?"
Alex shook his head. "Maybe, by the time we finish killing all of them, my subordinate also has finished killing all the people in the Zhou Kingdom."
"I see. I will play along with your plan. It seems I don't need to drag you away from this continent since you have truly convinced me in this." Sana said.
Alex nodded. He then looked at Evelyn, "Sorry, Evelyn. I need to go somewhere after this. So, you go back to the inn and don't tell anyone about this."
