Chapter 583: A Danger?
583 A Danger?
"We are going for phase two!"
As soon as Alex ordered them, they quickly turned into lights and went inside his body.
*Snap!* A teleportation array appeared along with the sound and teleported Alex into the forest. When the people from Black Devil Sect arrived at the top of the mountain, they could only see darkness without any sign of a person. Even after spreading their energy around.
Moar couldn't believe this and shouted. "Spread out. They shouldn't get too far."
It was at this time another barrage of Martial Arts flanked them from the side.
"Boom Boom Boom!"
"Argh!"
"Gah!"
Alex's plan slightly changed because of the Spatial Gate he used earlier. By showing his Space Element early on, they would have some reservations before using their Berserk Pill because they knew Alex could escape any time. Alex wanted to take advantage of this to end the battle without letting them take any Berserk Pill.
However, showing this also meant that the enemy would know that Alex could teleport around the area and attack them from every direction. This would surely make Moar spread the disciples around because they might be attacked from many directions.
To prevent that from happening, Alex attacked them with all previous skills to tell them they were here. Of course, he could also teleport again before the enemies arrived in the forest. And this mind battle was Alex's real target. It was hard to see in this darkness. Still, for Alex, who had Spirit Eyes, it was easy for him to get the best spot to make another attack. In the end, Moar would be too scared as Alex might teleport right in front of him at any given time.
The moment he locked into a mind battle, Alex's chance of victory increased significantly. While thinking of that, he could finally see the damage that had been done by his power. It would seem that he managed to kill another twenty of them, making their group had only three hundred people left.
On the other hand, Moar was given a hard choice. He was sweating profusely, wondering which was the best choice he could use. First of all, destroying the barrier seemed not possible because Alex would surely reinforce it. At the same time, he couldn't use his pill because Alex might escape, waiting until the effect wore off.
In this situation, the only plan possible was to split their group. "Rio and Troy will lead a hundred disciples to the forest while the rest will explore the mountain to make sure no one is hiding on the mountain."
He said he would explore the mountain, but it only masked his real intention. His original plan was to use the first a hundred as bait to lure Alex to split his force, so he could pay him back for the ambush earlier.
Alex surely couldn't teleport all of them at once because they were too separated. And it would be the perfect chance for his and two hundred disciples to attack Alex's group. In the worst case, he could order a few people to use their berserk pill. Even if Alex forced it out by teleporting a few, he could kill the rest.
Moar grinned as he watched a hundred people fly down the mountain and entered the dark forest.
Little did he know, he still underestimated Alex's group too much. Alex could see the energy of those hundred people and quickly informed Anna and the others.
"A hundred are coming for us while the rest are still on the mountain. I believe they are planning something, so our solution is to kill the people in the forest as quickly as possible before the bigger ones come." Alex said while narrowing his eyes.
"What should we do if they come before we finish?"
"It's simple. Anya will stay here as our support and command. As soon as I see the bigger group charge at us, I will tell her that so she can recall all of you. Meanwhile, I want Sherry, Kyle, and Stina to kill the enemy around me… or at least, stay close with me so I can inform you at any time. I will use my teleportation to teleport us to the Top of the mountain again and ambush them." Alex grinned evilly.
"Ah. A good strategy that takes advantage of this darkness." Anya gave her approval.
Alex nodded before clenching his two weapons. "Let's go."
"Yes." They moved in unison.
Alex activated his Spirit Eyes to see in this darkness. The Spirit Eyes became something similar to a heat vision but saw the energy instead of heat. This allowed Alex to locate many people at once, making the killing easier than the rest.
The people could activate their domain to check their surroundings, but it was nothing compared to Alex's teleportation.
*Clap!* By a single clap of his hand, a teleportation array appeared as it teleported Alex behind his target. The opponent was only a 5-Star Martial Emperor, so Alex quickly used both his weapons at the same time.
"Triple Draws."
"Heaven Light Slash."
These six attacks were truly a devastating attack. Although Chloe managed to block this even though it caught her unprepared, it was still enough to injure the people of the same level, let alone a 5-Star Martial Emperor that had been using the blood pills for years. He also wasn't special like Moar, so if Alex needed to predict his real prowess, it was more like a 3-Star Martial Emperor.
With the difference in mind, Alex struck him at his four limbs, heart and head. These six spots would surely heavily injure him or kill him even if only one spot was struck.
"Blood Barrier." Red energy gushed out of his body before turning into a circular shield. Knowing that Moar was planning to sacrifice them, he had been extra careful after entering the forest. He realized that Alex was teleported behind him after knowing his space element earlier.
He didn't have anything that could block these six attacks other than this barrier, albeit he miscalculated the strength behind Alex's attacks.
*Crack!*
The cracking sound echoed in his ears as a few parts of the barrier were broken.
"Argh!" The man screamed out of pain as his left arm fell to the ground.
"Tch!" Alex clicked his tongue as he never expected the barrier could hinder him. Out of the six attacks, the head and the heart were heavily guarded as his attack didn't graze the barrier there. On the other hand, the two legs quickly stuck with each other, so Alex needed to penetrate deep enough to injure it. Unfortunately, the Heaven Light Slash wasn't able to cut the hand at all. In contrast, the two hands didn't have anywhere to escape other than jumping back, but the timing prevented that option. Alex should be able to slice deep enough to render both of his hands useless.
As if he knew about Alex's intention, the man shifted his body to the left to avoid the Heaven Light Slash from his right. This would prevent both hands from being attacked, but it also cost him the entire left arm.
Screaming out of pain, the man still managed to clenched his sword to strike back at Alex. This was the time where Alex showed his superiority. His sword glowed red while his spear had no change other than an influx of Spiritual Energy. Alex struck the enemy weapon with his sword first before using his spear.
"Ignition Break!" The red light on his sword turned into a small explosion that resounded across the forest. It would certainly let more people come in, but Alex could just teleport. Meanwhile, after blasting the sword from his opponent's hand, Alex's spear moved like lightning and pierced his neck.
Alex took a deep breath before looking at his surroundings. As expected, that explosion sound alarmed the enemy as he saw twenty people coming toward his place.
At this time, Sherry, Kyle, and Stina, who were close at his place, appeared before him. "We are going to kill those twenty. Don't mind about alarming them… as long as you control your fire or I might control it with my Pure Fire, there should be no fire spread that can light this entire forest. Of course, the enemy could light them up as well, but we can simply retreat to a deeper part of the forest."
"They can simply use Fire Element to brighten the area, Master." Stina furrowed her eyebrows because she was sure Alex knew about this already.
Just like how she described it, a few light balls flew to the sky, carrying a huge amount of energy and light and brightening the forest. This allowed the enemy to identify their positions.
Finding this strategy funny, Alex chuckled before saying, "Don't worry. I have a solution to this."
As soon as Alex said that, a black sphere appeared in the air as it slowly turned into a vast thin layer of complete darkness. This plate completely blocked the light coming from the fireball.
"This is Dark Curtain?" Stina exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah. I have asked Anna to do this because I am sure the enemy will use it at some point." Alex nodded.
"At some point? What if they use it from the beginning?"
"No. They won't do that because they would think that the darkness also blinds us. They would surely think first whether using that technique is beneficial for them or not? After all, not only our position, but their position would also be exposed. If we are not cornering them like this, they wouldn't do such a thing." Alex smirked.
"Anyway, we still have another job to do." Without waiting for Stina to reply, Alex glanced at the twenty people in their way.
There was no need for explanation as both Alex and Sherry charged at the enemy in unison while Kyle and Stina used their flame to create a lotus.
Alex appeared right behind the enemy again and struck him using the same strategy. He could kill two people with the same strategy, but the third one was a little too good to the point he couldn't end the battle soon.
"Blade of Conquest!" Alex released a sword wave to blow this man away to Sherry's direction, which the latter simply raised her hand with fire surrounding her palm.
The man wanted to slash her hand to avoid this, but Sherry grabbed his sword and burned it with her flame.
"Fire Phoenix Art, Second Stage. Fire Claw!"
The sword melted and Sherry managed to grab his head and melted it as well. It was at this time they felt intense heat from behind.
A five-meter blue lotus appeared in the forest, brightening the darkness nearby. Stina and Kyle would obviously become the center of attention, but they had finished their skill first before anyone could arrive. All the petals of the lotus slowly fell and carried a huge amount of energy.
The people knew if this lotus hit them, their only fate would be death.
"Not good!" Alex found someone using her bow to strike at this lotus. He quickly sent out his firebirds to intercept the arrow, but none of the firebirds could hit it because the caster controlled the arrow perfectly to dodge Alex's firebirds.
He even used his Spatial Gate to swallow this arrow but to no avail. The arrow leaped to the sky and flew around before finally hitting the target.
Alex gritted his teeth because he knew the lotus would create a huge explosion.
"Boom!"
