Chapter 2017 - Shameless Betrayal
Chapter 2017: Shameless Betrayal
“It was strange that the old bald donkey Xumi would choose a kid with the Immortal Vampire bloodline as his successor. I really don’t know what was in his mind,” said Blackie with his lips curled up.
Zhang Ruochen turned his head and stared at Blackie. “You seem to be keeping a lot of things from me. Now it’s time to explain everything.”
“Err… I suddenly remember I have something on. I will make a move now.” Blackie’s eyes flashed as it flapped its wings, trying to get away.
It kicked itself in the head for talking too much, no difference from digging its own grave.
Zhang Ruochen had seen it coming. With the wave of his hand, he froze the space around Blackie, immobilizing it in midair.
“I know all you trick left and right. It’s not gonna work on me. Now, tell me everything. Or else, don’t think about going anywhere.” Zhang Ruochen said with a serious face.
At first, Zhang Ruochen had wanted to ask Blackie many things after the battle of Mount Yueshen. But Blackie had slipped away before he knew it. It was apparent that Blackie was trying to evade his questions.
One thing was certain, Blackie must have kept many things from him. He wondered if he should trust what Blackie had previously said.
Blackie could not move a muscle. “Let’s talk it over nicely. I will tell you what you want to know, but I really have nothing to hide from you.”
“If you don’t tell the truth, I will pluck all the hair from your body.” Zhang Ruochen shot it a threatening look.
Blackie flinched upon hearing that. “Do nothing stupid, Zhang Ruochen. I will tell you everything, but you have to free me first.”
Zhang Ruochen shot another glare at Blackie, only then he lifted the Dimensional Freeze to allow Blackie regaining its freedom.
If Blackie did not speak the truth this time, he would never let it go.
Blackie moved in a flash to hide behind Han Xue. It then looked at Zhang Ruochen cautiously, as if it was really afraid that Zhang Ruochen would really pluck its hair.
“What do you want to know?” Blackie asked as it poked its head out.
Zhang Ruochen let out a breath. “Why was your physical body in Ying Yang Sea? Why did Saint Monk Xumi keep you in the in Sacred Qiankun Wooden Picture Scroll?”
“I told you a long time ago about this. It was because I made a grave mistake and that bald donkey Xumi imprisoned my body in Ying Yang sea and refined my saint soul into the implement spirit of the Sacred Qiankun Wooden Picture Scroll.” Blackie rolled its eyes.
Zhang Ruochen continued. “What exactly did you do that Saint Monk Xumi had to take action to against you personally? Why did he want to make you the Sacred Qiankun Wooden Picture Scroll’s implement spirit?”
There must be something behind Saint Monk Xumi’s decision to imprison Blackie’s body and saint soul separately.
Blackie rolled its eyes again. “I told you these things before. Do you think I am joking with you? I was the emperor who slaughtered heaven and earth and had committed so many sins. That old bald donkey liked to poke his nose around and suppressed me.”
“Back then in Yin Yang Sea, where you also saw many cages, each of which was a cell for an inexcusable murderer. They were under the care of the Dragon clan, and I was one of them.”
“But the old bald donkey Xumi was compassionate. Even though I had committed grave crimes, he gave me a chance to repent by sealing my saint soul in the Sacred Qiankun Wooden Picture Scroll as the guide of the Scion of Time and Space. When you fulfilled all the meritorious deeds and reached consummation, I could regain my freedom.”
Imprisoning its saint soul in the Sacred Qiankun Wooden Picture Scroll for 100,000 years was harshest punishment. As violent as Blackie’s temperament was, the punishment was enough to change it.
Zhang Ruochen stared at Blackie for a moment and then said, “Who was that person who awakened in Ying Yang Sea?”
The blond young man who awakened in Yin Yang Sea had given Zhang Ruochen a deep impression. He still remembered that when he first saw the blond young man, he was like facing a high and mighty god emperor. It was really terrifying.
That blond young man had even taken the Shenlong Chaos Tower of Sun and Moon and sealed the entire Yin Yang Sea, making Yin Yang Sea an absolute forbidden place, where no one could enter.
There was fear in Blackie’s eyes as Zhang Ruochen mentioned that man. “He is a taboo figure, the only one left of the Divine Dragon race and also the most powerful one. He was revered in the wild, secret realm by all races. I slaughtered the Divine Dragon race and the dragon’s biles. Had it not been for the old bald donkey Xumi, he would have died long ago.”
“Ask no more about this person. I will not talk about him. Those taboo characters, even if the Supreme Saints are not supposed to be discussed.”
It was apparent that Blackie was really terrified of Yin Yang Sea, so much so that it did not even dare to talk about it.
Hearing this, Zhang Ruochen could not help but frowned with thoughts flashing across his mind. Those gods of the Kunlun Realm had all fallen 100,000 years ago, which led to the gradual decline of the Kunlun Realm.
Now it seemed that this was not the case. At least the taboo being of the Divine Dragon race was still alive, and there was a possibility that some other giants were hiding in the dark.
What was the purpose of imprisoning this taboo figure of the Divine Dragon race clan in the Yin Yang Sea for 100,000 years?
When he associated it with the awakened ones such as Jiang Yunchong, Yan Ruo, Hong Xuanji, the Spirit-Devouring King, and those returning Supreme Artifact’s implement spirits, Zhang Ruochen had even more questions on his mind. When Zhang Rouchen thought he was beginning to learn more about the Kunlun Realm, it blurred out again.
“Then what is your relationship with the Empress of Thousand Bones? And what was the matter with the Blackheart Demonlord?” Zhang Ruochen continued to ask.
Blackie became emotional. “Never mention the perfidious scoundrel in front of me. Back then, when the Blackdemon Realm was still weak and there were no immortals, the Kunlun Realm had shown kindness by supporting them and let some of their people to practice self-cultivation in the Kunlun Realm.”
“The Blackheart Demonlord was one of them. He had the highest talent and befriended the empress who regarded him as a close friend. But Blackheart Demonlord was a wolf in sheep’s clothing; he used her to approach the Divine Sky-connecting Tree.”
“At that time, the Blackheart Demonlord wanted to court the empress. But now way the empress would take a liking to him. The Blackheart Demonlord held grudges in his heart. He secretly colluded with the enemy, bring in powerful murderer to cut down the Divine Sky-connecting Tree. The saint Qi of Kunlun Realm gradually dried up since then. It had killed the hope of Kunlun Realm cultivators to become immortals.”
“I was framed, too, and my cultivation almost went out of control and I deviated from the right course. Because of committing the crime of killing, and I ultimately ended up being imprisoned.”
Speaking of the Blackheart Demonlord, Blackie sounded angry, filled with hatred. He subconsciously released a terrible flame from its body as he could not wait to grind the Blackheart Demonlord’s treacherous bones to dust.
Anger also brewed in Zhang Ruochen’s heart, too. The Blackheart Demonlord had betrayed the Kunlun Realm and cut down the Divine Sky-connecting Tree. All of these were heinous crimes.
He hated betrayal the most. If he was powerful enough, he would definitely kill the true body of the Blackheart Demonlord, not just the manifestation of his divine will.
The Blackheart Demonlord could attain immortality was most likely because of his betrayal of the Kunlun Realm and got tremendous benefits from it.
Greed is a bottomless pit. The Kunlun Realm did everything possible to help the Blackdemon Realm. When it finally grew stronger, it sold the Kunlun Realm out for self-interest. How irony.
It was not until now did Zhang Ruochen understand why Blackie hated the Blackheart Demonlord so much. It turned out that the imprisonment of Blackie had something to do with the Blackheart Demonlord.
Zhang Ruochen could not help but sighed. Had the Divine Sky-connecting Tree not been cut down, Empress of Thousand Bones would have no difficulty attaining immortality with her extraordinary talent.
He wondered where the Empress of Thousand Bones was now, and if she was still alive.
