856 856 Light of Truth
With the talk of the research team out of the way, they got down to the technical details of the new vessel. The Engineer brought up the ship’s schematic as a 3D projection and began her speech.
“Light of Truth, in the common language, is built on the standard monomolecular hull design created by Lead Researcher Nico, and it is outfitted in the standard manner for a full Mecha Battalion, plus support crew.
However, the sensors have been upgraded from the last generation, with the information that has been relayed back to the Terminus Trading Company about the capabilities of the species in this sector. It should be more capable of detecting the Arisen Army’s arrivals than even Santa Maria, and it has both long-range sensors and probes for finding specific materials.
The determination was that they would be needed both when searching for survivors and evidence after an attack and for restocking the vessel with the most efficient materials possible.
With limited volume available for storage, it is to our benefit to find the densest possible material for the Replicator Systems. In addition to that, we have an optimized biomatter generation and recycling facility on board. It is fully self-contained and uses nanotechnology maintenance bots, a new development from the Terminus Trading Company.
Not that Nanotech is new to anyone, but these are specifically designed to maintain our biomatter systems and have been granted a Patent by the Alliance, so we can market the full systems as a premium product.”
Max looked over the design with approval. It always sucked for sanitation to repair sewer systems, so the Nanobots would be a welcome addition to any ship.
“Have these also been deployed aboard Absolution?” He asked.
“Not yet. They are waiting for our test results, as this is the first real-world test outside the lab. If we have no issues with them here, they will be deployed to the full Company and distributed to the other Reavers with similar systems on board their ships.” The Giant explained before the Engineer could get into a long and detailed explanation of the sewage system of the World Ship.

According to the data, it should be over three hundred percent more effective against the weapons of the Arisen than the old design. It is also segmented into six generators which can be expanded to overlap, which was a last-minute addition that was credited to you personally.” She added.
They were planning to do that with the Mecha as well, so if it was deemed an improvement for the ship, it was a good sign that they were on the right track with their Mecha development.
The bridge staff wouldn’t be kept up to date with the exact details as a precaution to avoid leaks of data, but Max still knew where the design had originated and that the reason it was considered was because of the high volume of fire from multiple directions that they were expecting to come under at that time.
“Next up is the weapons system. We have the usual assortment of Reaver Ship weapons, including six fast-charging Orbital Lances, twelve Warp Torpedo bays, and sixty-four defensive lasers for blocking incoming hard projectiles and light Mecha.
That was a lot of firepower, but basically the same as the other Cutters on Absolution, so there wouldn’t have been any suspicions raised about the purpose of this ship while it was being created.
“It’s a shame that we couldn’t bring the Androids here with us. They have been doing such an amazing job on Absolution, especially under the guidance of Felicity, who has determined that simply piloting wasn’t enough of a skill set for them, so they have been cross-trained to maintain and repair their own units lately.
They work alongside the human techs as assistants, and they’ve been getting really good at developing the sort of problem-solving logic that will let them diagnose issues without a clear cause.” The Engineer sighed.
Hopefully, the AI hadn’t found a loophole in her limitations to have the Androids develop in an unwanted direction, but repair seemed like an appropriate task to have them help with since there were already Androids on the repair team.
“There are some small quality of life changes as well. The temperature control system has been improved to the standard that was used aboard Terminus and Absolution, making the ship truly multi-species friendly instead of maintaining a constant human optimal temperature and humidity everywhere.
We have also added all the new options from various species to the Replicators, and with permission, I will add the new ones from Santa Maria to our options. With that done, we should be better able to host foreign visitors.
We wanted to add Gravity Slides, but they were deemed inappropriate for a Warship, so that option never panned out. We did modify the flooring, though. Many of our staff prefer to go barefoot, so the floor surface is softer but just as durable. Boots won’t damage it, but it won’t be painful to run barefoot on.” She added.
The Giant nodded and gestured toward the crew quarters, where the rest were either sleeping or enjoying their time off. “The Dryad was the first to suggest it, but the humans also approved of the measure. They said that they could keep their boots in their flat space, and with the auto laces, they could throw them on faster than a buttoned shirt if they were called to duty.”
“We also added some relaxation areas to the unused spaces. The secondary gym is now a sand-floored space with loungers for tanning and a large hot tub. There is also a large atrium full of jungle plants that have been popular both as a training space for melee combat and relaxation for the Dryad.” The Engineer informed them, pointing it out on the map for Max.
That should have been a spare Mecha Bay for excess equipment and recovered materials after a battle. It was best to keep the remnants of the destroyed Mecha away from the active duty personnel, so they were put in their own bay while being repaired.
That wasn’t a concern here, so they had repurposed it into a multi-level obstacle course and training area full of huge trees.
“Good work, everyone. It looks like you’ve made it properly comfortable for yourselves.” Max congratulated them, and the crew finally began to relax in his presence.
