Chapter 231: Grisha’s Change
Chapter 231: Grisha’s Change
Grisha continued to speak about a lot of her experiences. Some, she was comfortable with speaking, others, she paused in the middle, unwilling to continue further as her mood soured.
After a couple of hours' worth of conversation, Compass Carburettor got a general gist of things. He also understood how Rhizen had been killed once.
Among all of Grisha's experiences, she had been Rhizen's companion only once. She had even been killed by him in a couple of other instances. In the end, she had seen his death once.
"That experience is tremendously valuable," he said, for, in that time, she had faced attacks from System Hosts constantly. So, it would be beneficial for his plans to use that to his advantage.
He then looked at the worried face of Grisha, asking, "What happened? You look worried."
"It's about my mother." She sighed in worry, "At present, she's a couple of cities away. It's not a distance that we can travel with our current abilities, right?"
"Have you ever met your mother in your previous loops?" He asked, hugging her when she began to cry all of a sudden.
"She…hadn't survived day one…" Grisha wept, "Not even once. I know her very well. She has a weak heart and cannot tolerate anything scary…not to mention this."
"I'm sorry," He hugged her, not saying anything for he knew that he would state something insensitive now.
"You might remember everything. So, you will be able to save her in the next loop." He couldn't say that. After all, whether she saves her mother or not, the emotional wound of her mother's death all the times would continue to plague her.
If he hadn't given her the System Fragment of Remembrance, then she wouldn't have been this affected.
"But it's fine," Suddenly, Grisha wiped her tears, her voice turning a notch colder as she spoke, "Now, I am aware. So, I won't waste time acting meek. Let's strengthen ourselves first and destroy our enemies."
She then spoke through telepathy, "Even if they are System Hosts, they still take damage from a variety of factors, right?"
"Yes," Compass Carburettor nodded.
"That'll be enough." She nodded, "We can take some shortcuts to become stronger easily."
"Thank you, Compass." She smiled, "I feel like I'm no longer the frog at the bottom of the well. In this fight, I'll be able to contribute too."
"Of course, you will." He nodded, feeling Grisha's presence continue to change subtly. She was digesting her previous lifetimes, turning into a hardened individual mentally.
As all of them were her own experiences, her aura was becoming grander, sharp, vast.
'Amazing! Experiences worth 48 lifetimes have now merged into her. She'll become one heck of an ally.' Compass Carburettor was amazed at he observed the changes.
"Can you give me one pearl?" She extended her hand, asking.
"Sure," Compass Carburettor said, giving her one, watching her swallow it immediately.
She then summoned her wand, casting the healing ability on her wrist, focusing on the Darble bracelet tied on it. As the healing energy seeped into the Darble bracelet, it flowed out and seeped into her arm.
Without any hesitation, Grisha picked up a knife nearby and made a large gash on her hand. Her hand flinched at the pain but she didn't even bat an eye. At present, her body was still the same as the normal Grisha. But her mind had changed.
Hence this contrast in reaction.
The healing energy seeped into her gash through the Darble bracelet as she focused on it, noticing goosebumps form on her hands.
'Darlac Awakening!' Compass Carburettor was surprised to see this change. Even though she had only seen him using his Armaments a few times, thanks to her enormous experience now, she figured out the means.
After all, the Darble bracelet was on her all along, subtly trying to awaken her to Darlac. But because her senses were dull, she wasn't able to feel them. But now, with the change in her mentality, thanks to her experience, all the senses in her body were unlocked, grandly improving her perception.
With that, she was able to feel the gentle energy from the Darble bracelet, feeling like it was familiar, like something contained within her body. And while she was talking with Compass Carburettor, her body began to open up to the changes, eventually being able to fully sense it.
With that, she devised a means by harnessing her healing ability. As it flowed through her Darble bracelet, she was able to sense it to an even greater extent, attaining the conditions to awaken.
She swallowed the remainder of the pearls he had brought with him, repeating the same action before smiling, "I see, so this is Darlac."
"Congratulations!" Compass Carburettor clapped, "You'll now be able to wield Armaments and Puppets too. But first, we'll have to check your affinity to the two paths."
"This power is amazing. But, it does feel like something that was within me all along." She nodded in surprise.
"Well, that's natural. Darlac is just the condensation of your stamina. So, it's something inherently possessed by everyone, just that we are unable to harness it actively. Once we obtain Darlac, we can use it." He said, informing her of some knowledge related to it.
"Get some rest for now. I'll procure some food supplies for us." After some time, Compass Carburettor said as such before vanishing.
Once his figure disappeared, Grisha looked around, uttering coldly, "Who are you?"
A cobra slithered out from under her bed, gazing at her before hissing. It then retreated under her bed, ignoring her.
"…" For a moment, Grisha looked at the cobra's antics before bursting into laughter.
Shaking her head, she walked towards the balcony, removing the curtains before stepping into the balcony. The surrounding mosquitoes saw her appearance, immediately rushing towards her, intending to swallow her.
"It's been a while, fuckers!" Her expression morphed, emitting enough killing intent that for a moment, all the mosquitoes stalled, unable to move their wings as their muscles convulsed.
All Grisha did was stand at the balcony and emit killing intent, watching the mosquitoes crash into the ground one after another, failing to flap their wings. They came in droves and fell to the ground in droves.
After some time, she retracted her killing intent, calmly walking inside the house. But this time, the mosquitoes no longer tried to attack her, even though the door was open.. They actively avoided the place, buzzing around as they flew towards the nearby houses.
