Chapter 308: Sharpening The Mind Before Battle

Chapter 308: Sharpening The Mind Before Battle

An aircraft flew in the air as a group of people were seated inside. Two were the pilots, manning the aircraft while the rest had a multitude of tasks to complete.

Embedded in the wall of the aircraft, in view of the crew were 31 compasses. At present, four people were seated before them, gazing at them nonstop like a hawk.

Three of them were focused on thirty compasses while the fourth member held the Beast Form Compass, stating from time to time, "Target approaching in ETA seven minutes fourteen seconds…"

"Be prepared!" The pilot announced as he manned the aircraft, heading in a certain direction. They were the pilots that were present in Carburettor Island.

As they were just products of the Young Master System, they didn't generate any Mental Energy. So, they were the perfect tools to use to go against a System.

At present, the crew communicated from time to time as the aircraft continued to move. As it travelled at a high altitude, they didn't have to worry about any mutated birds attacking them.

The crew moved into a cabin from time to time as their figures vanished. After all, that was where Compass Carburettor was hiding at. If he remained out in the open, there is a chance he could be detected, even if he covered himself with the Mental Energy Body Layer.

That's why, he created a Reality Marble within which he rested, communicating with the crew members through telepathy. He was currently preparing himself for another tough battle.

In order to fight at peak battle condition, he was resting both body and mind, intending to be at an optimal state. Slowly, thoughts churned in his mind as he recalled all the fights that he had until now.

Slave Harem; he hid his identity until the end, only making the final shot after exhausting the enemy completely.

Directional Misalignment; he took advantage of the fact that Neena was aiming for Rhizen, staying in her blind spot while taking advantage of her. And in the end, once she was deprived of all Mental Energy, he killed her.

Remembrance; it was only a Level 1 System that he targeted using the System Fragment of Intoxicating Fragrance, causing the place to be swarmed by ants and mosquitoes. It was easy since the other party didn't have much Mental Energy while the Host was mentally weakened by his online attacks. He took advantage of the descent of the apocalypse and the mentally shaken up state of the Host to kill them.

Night Ranger; it was a risky operation, but adding to the support from the Coincidental Luck System, he remained within Shika's space and fully understood the characters of both her and her System. She was the enemy he understood the most and took action with assurance. After plundering her assets, he killed her.

Young Master; this was where he fought head-on for the first time. Though, with three Personal Fragments, he had more than enough foundation to fight them. But even then, he first focused on using the laws of Earth to constrict the movements of the Young Master System, severing its connection to the Astral Network before he began to plunder its Mental Energy.

Reality Marble; he could say it was a close call here, barely allowing him to emerge victorious. Otherwise, the two System Hosts would have kept reviving within the Reality Marble endlessly as their Systems figured out a way to get more Mental Energy.

'I've already used Golda's and Dita's ability thrice. So, unless they are idiots, they should have developed a counter to it already. If I tried it again, there's a good chance my foundation would be snatched away instead.' He thought, sharpening his thoughts, 'Dust Wave has also been used plenty. So, it can no longer serve as a trump card.'

'Same for Vutura's feathers. I had spammed them the most in the previous battle. So, that too would be useless next.' He frowned, 'Dwun, Shika, Jionerd, and Zach have witnessed the Spydragons. So, they cannot be used too.'

He sighed 'I've also used Directional Misalignment plenty of times. And, Krager is a man, so Slave Harem won't work on him.'

"Wait, haven't I used practically everything?" He groaned, shaking his head as he thought, 'It seems that I have no other choice. It might be risky, but I'll have to overpower him abruptly.'

'Sir, we've arrived above his location. Shall we begin the drop?' The pilot communicated right at this time.

'What's he doing at present?' Compass Carburettor asked in response.

'He's currently travelling east, having transformed into a giant bird.' A crew member replied, having already tracked the position of their target through the Beast Form Compass as they used sophisticated equipment to capture his actions.

A crew entered the Reality Marble, displaying a video of Krager's bird form flying over a hill.

After observing it, Compass Carburettor nodded, informing everyone through telepathy, 'Begin drop!'

Nothing changed for him while the aircraft nosedived towards Krager, speeding in response, alerting Krager as he soon noticed the intense sounds generated by the aircraft engines.

Krager's bird form flapped its wings, flying faster as it was afraid.

'Is it Compass Carburettor?' The Beast Form System thought, frowning as it activated a detection Skill, failing to notice him within the aircraft. And, those in the aircraft seemed like soldiers, accurately aiming for the bird.

'Wait, this bird is a precious entity that Krager had captured after a lot of effort. Were they also part of the group aiming for it?' Thinking in response, it tried to sense further, frowning when it failed to receive any Mental Energy from them.

'Are they not thinking anything?' It was confused, observing their actions to see that they were conversing with each other nonstop.

It understood that they were focused on each other and not on the bird all that much, 'Wait, is it a scheme by Compass Carburettor?'

'But no, without him appearing personally, these normal people won't be able to do much to the current Krager.' It snorted but felt that its worry hadn't abated, immediately connecting to the Astral Network to purchase a couple of Skills.

It also bought an item and suddenly presented it to Krager, taking advantage of a vague Quest that it had generated for him before.

"Eh? How did I complete that Quest?" Krager was surprised all of a sudden, turning around to gaze at the aircraft rapidly closing in on him, "Are they related to that?"
