I Hate Systems

Chapter 362: Gleaning the Scheme

Chapter 362: Gleaning the Scheme

“L-Lord Gahrat? Is that you?” Old Zen was unable to believe his eyes despite seeing the figure of Compass Carburettor.

After all, when he was enveloped by the Mental Energy Body Layer, he appeared vast to the senses of Old Zen, despite still resembling a mortal that had just awakened his Martial Spirit.

Old Zen quickly noticed Compass Carburettor’s choice of words, asking in shock, “You’re leaving? Why so sudden?”

“Something came up, something pressing.” Compass Carburettor sighed before stating, “As for the money made from auctioning the Unbreakable Etherite, just take it.”

“Please tell me, what must I do in return?” Old Zen asked, knowing very well that there was no free meal in the world.

“I…have a son.” Compass Carburettor said, “Though, I haven’t ever met him since birth. It was in search of him that I had arrived at the Gaider Realm. Unfortunately, his mother had already passed away. As things stand, I cannot bring him back with me. My enemies are beyond what the Gaider Realm can handle.”

“So, I’ll implicate everyone if I remain here any longer.” He sighed, feeling helpless, “I thought I could relax a little, but it seems I’ll have to postpone that to the future.”

He then gazed at Old Zen, “If you encounter him by chance in the future, just lend him a helping hand. You don’t need to interfere if he’s doing alright. He’s my son, I know he has a strong mind. He looks pretty similar to me, so I’m sure you’ll recognise him easily.”

“What’s his name…” Old Zen asked, “If I were to meet him, I’ll definitely help him.”

“Hazen…” Compass Carburettor smiled.

“Thank you, I’ll remember this favour.” He then took out an orb before handing it out to Old Zen, “I remember you saying that you have a talented grandson. If memory serves right, he has an Earth Martial Spirit. This Earth Grade Origin Art would be helpful to him.”

“T-This…” Old Zen was shocked, his hands trembling as he held the orb. Origin Arts were methods used to manipulate their Origin Essence to unleash various effects. They were the most efficient way to harness the power of their Martial Spirits.

And depending on the Tier of their Martial Spirit, the Tier of the Origin Art too was suitable. Though, anyone could learn and use a Trash Origin Art, since it lacked any attribute and only consisted of using Origin Essence in its natural state.

Typically, an Earth Grade Origin Art acted as the foundation of a Clan or Sect. Consider the Giant Whale Sect for example.

The Giant Whale Clan that controlled it typically chose and had a greater affinity to Whale Martial Spirits and Water Martial Spirits. So, they had an Earth Grade Origin Art related to water and a Human Grade Origin Art related to Whales.

That was their foundation.

And now, Compass Carburettor had given him an Earth Grade Origin Art, stumping Old Zen. It was enough for him to establish his Clan officially. That was what he had been granted.

“Thank you, Lord Gahrat.” Old Zen bowed deeply, “As long as I, Old Zen live, I’ll ensure nothing happens to your son. And I’ll make my descendants do the same.”

“I’m relieved to hear that.” Compass Carburettor smiled, “Then, I’ll be going on my way now.”

Saying so, he activated the Mental Energy Body Layer as his figure vanished, shocking Old Zen. “W-What’s up with this? How many abilities does he possess? A Heaven Grade Martial Spirit? How strong is it among Heaven Grade?”

All Compass Carburettor did was condense a portal to Grisha and arrive there. Since the portal was invisible to everyone else, it further raised the air of mystery surrounding him, causing him to resemble a peerless expert.

As for the Earth Grade Origin Art, it was of course from the ruins.

Since the luck-based Systems would be targeting him, he couldn’t leave all his preparations to himself. His spatial pouch only had to be stolen for everything to turn meaningless.

So, he had to get some experts on his side, ‘If only I had at least a couple of weeks. I could have brought more experts on my side. That would be helpful to my situation.’

By now, he had understood the general gist of what his opponents planned to do. After all, if Core Skills were useless, then the System Hosts would never be able to win against him. They would just be juicy prey to him.

Moreover, with their abilities too being sealed, even if they enter the body of someone in the Gaider Realm, that Host wouldn’t heed their orders. After all, what incentive did they have to do that? They would probably try their best to get rid of whatever had entered them.

It was because, the Systems wouldn’t be able to give them any powers. That was their weakness in this situation.

So, the ideal case would be to have Hosts that listened to their demands and moved accordingly. And most of all, they were smart or strong enough to kill him.

None among the Gaider Realm were suitable. After all, if they were weak, they were useless. Otherwise, they were weak due to their young age.

And, if they were already strong, they wouldn’t even bat an eye at the Systems, at most worried if they had been attacked by their enemies.

So, the best option would be to bring Hosts from the Apocalypse World after training them enough. And, with an ability similar to Remembrance, the Hosts would be able to remember everything from their previous 47 loops.

Compass Carburettor had already found out that such memories didn’t vanish even if the ability that brought the memories was destroyed.

Moreover, there was no issue in bringing them to the System World. Non-System entities could remain in the System World for a short duration. And this was enough for them to enter the Gaider Realm.

With the experiences of their past 47 lives, all the Hosts from the Apocalypse World would be terrifying experts. And it was a guarantee that all of them would awaken Heaven Martial Spirits due to how strong their will was after recalling such experiences.

Grisha and Gana were the best examples.

“Does that mean I’ll have to face Rhizen and Straxia next?” Now that he arrived at this line of thought, even Compass Carburettor felt nervous, aware of how terrifying these two were as he had observed them the most.

Those from Carburettor Island had analysed them in great detail, after all. So, he was aware of how terrifying they were.

‘Thankfully, I had already killed Shyvern. That’s one less troublesome opponent.’
