Chapter 459: This Isn’t Your War
Chapter 459: This Isn’t Your War
“Grisha, do you trust me?”
“Do you need to ask?”
“That was a dumb question, huh.”
…
“Are you sure, Xuer?” Ranze asked in concern.
“Yeah, since I already have the most suitable material for my style, I don’t plan to waste time searching. We haven’t found anything good for me yet.” Xuer replied, “Besides, if there was indeed something like that, sister Lanela should have brought it by now.”
“So, this is what I have chosen.” Held in her hands was the Unbreakable Etherite, the Darlac energy blade created using the trait of Permanence. Xuer began to fuse with it immediately.
Beside her was Bunuela who was fusing with a material sparkling with the lightning attribute. Her goal was to raise the speed and deadliness of her Martial Spirit.
As for Ranze, he was different. His Trash Divine Martial Spirit allowed him to fuse with two materials at the Martial Origin Stage. And, he had already used the Unbreakable Etherite for the first fusion. As for the second, it was a mysterious variation of lightning that Compass Carburettor had given him, stating it was from one of the strongest Dolba on the island.
Ranze had already finished both fusions, sensing that he had become many times stronger than before, only now able to exhibit the true power of his Martial Spirit. Even though he had become strong, he was nervous.
For their target, Warktor was also currently fusing with his material. And worst of all, they were within a hundred metres from one another.
Even though Ranze could rush at him immediately, there was a problem as Warktor’s disciple stood guard nearby, ready to target Xuer the moment he took action.
It created an impasse where both sides didn’t attack one another. This was also why Xuer didn’t waste time any longer and simply decided to fuse with the Unbreakable Etherite. That was her plan from the get-go anyway.
She had also created many Origin Arts accordingly that she could use after entering the Martial Origin Stage and fuse with it. Thereafter, she wasn’t nervous.
As for Bunuela, even though she didn’t feel all that good about accepting a fusion material from Grisha, but upon seeing that the material was one of the best, if not the strongest that she had ever seen in her life, she accepted it.
Unlike Xuer, she was from the strongest Clan of the Gaider Realm and had seen the most expensive and highest quality of fusion materials. So, with one glance at this fusion material in her hands, she realised that it was the best she had seen to date.
And when Xuer took out the Unbreakable Etherite, she felt her heart skip a beat, for it too was top class.
“isn’t it kind of boring to be this silent?” Warktor spoke all of a sudden, actually taking the initiative to walk closer to the trio. Even though he hadn’t finished his fusion yet, he was walking casually.
He was parallel processing the two tasks, acting like it didn’t even phase him. This level of confidence startled the trio.
Even Bunuela, no matter how much of a genius she was praised to be, this wasn’t something she could attain. Even her grandfather, a legendary powerhouse hailed as the strongest of the Gaider Realm couldn’t boast such finesse in Origin Essence control.
And now, the middle-aged man before her was displaying such an impossible feat.
She trembled in fear, feeling like all the logic that she had been brought up with collapsed before her very eyes, stammering in agitation, “W-Who the hell are you?”
“Aren’t the lot of you addressing me as an Evil Spirit?” Warktor smiled, “That’s pretty much what I am, someone you can say has evil intentions against your world.”
“But, leaving her aside,” He faced Xuer and Ranze, “It seems Compass Carburettor has told the both of you pretty much everything about us.”
“Compass Carburettor…?” Bunuela frowned.
“Seems you’ve been left in the dark about that.” Warktor smiled, “Compass Carburettor is his real name. Gahrat, Hazen, and many others are just his various other identities.”
“Wha…what does this mean?” Bunuela was shocked, gazing at Xuer, “Wasn’t Hazen the son of Lord Gahrat?”
“He’s what you call the Main Character.” Warktor said, “And we, the ones he’s fighting with are System Hosts. You can say that this war is pretty much between the two of us. The three of you have no relation to it.”
“But, your war would involve us all, right?” Ranze said slowly, “There are 21 of you in total. And just Velcorn stirred up a massive mess outside. Even two powerhouses were injured as a result of him. And this was when he was only at the Origin Refinement Stage.”
He glared at Warktor, “And, if the lot of you reach the Martial Providence Stage, then none would be your opponent. Wouldn’t you destroy the Gaider Realm just to kill Compass Carburettor?”
“If you want to prevent it, just kill him.” Warktor said slowly, “With him dead, all of us lose any purpose of growing stronger. Besides,”
He smiled, “The moment he’s dead, I’ll personally kill the rest of the Evil Spirits.”
“What?” Xuer was shocked, unable to calm down upon hearing his statement. “You’re lying!”
“I have no reason to do so.” Warktor said, motioning for his disciple to leave, “Our world is ruled by the Coincidental Luck System. Its authority falls into the domains of luck and coincidence.”
“You see…those harnessing its power would stumble upon treasures luckily or coincidentally chance upon the enemy they wish to kill right when the enemy was significantly injured.” Warktor smirked, “There are hundreds of such examples. Anyway, all Systems are enemies to one another. The only reason they’ve even joined hands is to get rid of Compass Carburettor.”
“You get the picture here?” He smiled, “If Compass Carburettor is killed, your world is safe. But otherwise, even if all 21 Systems are killed by him, even stronger Systems would descend into this world.”
“By then, none of you would survive the aftermath of the clash.” He said in all seriousness, “This isn’t even your war. So, just watch it from the side.”
