Chapter 614: Completely Burnt into Cinders

Chapter 614: Completely Burnt into Cinders

“How’re the preparations?” The Tentuna City Lord asked, watching a group of mages before him continue chanting nonstop.

“We’re ready.” The head of the group, a Grandmaster Fire and Wind Mage bowed in response.

“Warriors, protect the Mages until they chuck out the spell.” The Tentuna City Lord said, his voice booming, filled with authority.

“Yes!” The Warriors saluted in response, taking their respective positions.

“Let’s go now.” The Tentuna City Lord smiled, condensing a large magic circle as the runes flashed on it in a hurry, forming shape as the bodies of everyone in the place glowed before disappearing.

Mass Teleportation!

The Tentuna City Lord was a Grandmaster Space Mage, an incredibly rare occupation as Space Mages were too rare, especially those that had become Grandmasters.

This was why Tentuna City could collude with the Talon Secret Organisation and not be discovered until now.

The group appeared in a plaza of Buhan City, one of the Birdmen cities of the Burnak Kingdom that bordered the Xetuka Kingdom.

As a large open place situated amidst countless shops, the plaza was pretty crowded. The Birdmen of all ages roamed around, relaxing in the night sky. There were a lot of nocturnal types among the Birdmen, hence the place was crowded as this was the time when they could roam freely.

But suddenly, a group of humans appeared in the midst, shocking everyone as all the Mages finished their chant, causing a fiery man to manifest in the air, spanning a height of thirty metres, hulking in the night sky, brightening the region.

Held in each of his hands was a spear that he wielded, making a casual sweep as the majority of the Birdmen in the plaza were vaporised.

“No…” A Grandmaster Doctor among the crowd stared in despair as even the best of his power failed to save the people, for the fire giant exuded power on the level of a Pseudo-Saint.

He stared in despair, expressing hatred as the fiery spear pierced his body, burning him into smithereens as the entire plaza erupted in flames that spread around.

“Aim!” The Tentuna City Lord shouted, condensing another magic circle as the fire giant propped one of its spears like a javelin, taking up position.

“Fire!” He shouted, condensing a portal a dozen metres away from the fire giant, watching it launch the fiery spear through it.

The other side of the portal appeared, facing a market as the Birdmen there were caught unawares, blazing up in flames immediately as most of them died an instantaneous death. The remaining though, died a miserably slow death.

And all of them happened to be Doctors, blessed with an innate healing ability.

“Aim!” The Tentuna City Lord raised his hand, condensing another portal, “Throw!”

He noticed another part of Buhan City go up in flames as the screams of people increased in pitch.

“Aim!” He said again, watching the Grandmaster Birdmen take action as the various traps in the city were triggered. But ignoring them, he announced, “Throw!”

Boom!

Another region went up in flames.

As for the traps around the plaza that began to attack them, a team of Warriors using the Wind, Fire, and Lightning Mana blitzed around, destroying all the traps easily.

They were led by Grandmasters while the remainder were Masters.

The sheer difference between the Humans and other races was the versatility they displayed in destruction.

The Birdmen from the Ampor City unleashed a plague upon Xerusi City to kill the people. But, there was still a chance the plague could be stopped as it needed time to grow strong.

In contrast, Tentuna City directly set Buhan City on fire. As the fire blazed on, the air grew hot and dry, causing the fire to latch onto the other areas as it spread around.

Moreover, fire spears rained down everywhere, accurately aiming at the densely populated locations of the city first.

Moreover, the only troops brought here wielded the elements of Fire, Wind, and Lightning, all complementing one another in the situation.

It wasn’t even much of a battle at this point when the Buhan City Lord was pierced through by a fire spear that landed on his face suddenly.

It was because a portal opened before him and in an instant, the fire spear slammed out of it, large enough to cover his entire body.

Following that, the City Lord’s mansion went up in flames. The various Witchcraft that had been set up in the place tried their best to defend against the flames but quickly went up in smoke.

The Wind Mages constantly fuelled the fire and spread it around while the Lightning Mages targeted the Masters and Grandmasters from afar, also disabling the most threatening of traps similarly.

The Lightning Warriors had a field day as their figures flickered, leaving behind a wave of corpses, unstoppable in the chaos.

From the start, the battle only raged on for thirty minutes before the entirety of Buhan City was up in flames.

Staring at the sea of fire before him, the Tentuna City Lord nodded in praise, “Well done everyone. Let’s return to our organisation now.”

“Yes, City Lord!” Everyone nodded, having long since become part of the Talon Secret Organisation. Their families had already been sent away to the organisation’s base as they planned to abandon Tentuna City for the time being.

The Xetuka Kingdom would definitely discover them to be the culprits and would decimate them. Hence, they planned to abandon everything beforehand, having already looted everything they possibly could.

The bodies of all the humans flickered before vanishing from Buhan City, only leaving behind burning rubble and the smell of charred flesh.

Not even a single Birdmen survived.

The atrocity of such a scale was more than enough to spark a vicious war between the two kingdoms. Soon after, countless Birdmen arrived in the air nearby Buhan City, staring at the burning city as their emotions burned in response, “Why…be so cruel?”

“What have we ever done to the humans? Huh?” A Grandmaster Birdmen from the nearby city muttered in a daze, unable to believe just what had happened. After all, his children had just visited Buhan City to take in the local sights, a speciality of the city.

But now, everything went up in smoke.

“The humans will pay for this!” Gradually, he muttered as his beak almost cracked in response, unable to contain his anger as he chirped aloud, followed by everyone else as their mournful screams echoed amid the burning waste of what was once a bustling city.
