Chapter 630: Battle of Slayers
Chapter 630: Battle of Slayers
“Is this what you wanted to talk to me about?” Compass Carburettor’s voice, containing a tinge of anger resounded in the room.
“It was supposed to be something else, but…” Slayer closed his eyes, calming down his mixed emotions as he said, “You shouldn’t have interfered with my plans.”
“This plan of yours…involves me, right?” Compass Carburettor said as his gaze slowly focused on his opponent, “The final stop of this plan is…me, right?”
“Hah…this is why you Main Characters are troublesome, always annoying.” Slayer massaged his forehead in irritation before suddenly, intense killing intent billowed out of him, suffocating everyone in the room.
“T-Teacher?” Wayna stared in shock, having never seen her teacher express anger even once, not to mention the terrifying extent displayed by Slayer now.
Even though it seemed like he was glaring at Compass Carburettor with killing intent, this was the first time they ever exchanged a proper dialogue. Such a level of killing intent didn’t make sense.
Compass Carburettor was able to sense that Slayer wasn’t actually looking at him, but seemed to be expressing anger at something that had happened in the past, treating Compass Carburettor as the reason for that—probably the Main characters preceding him.
[Brat, assume your Coordinate Form]
[Alright]
Stencil didn’t hesitate as she transformed into her human self but turned strangely ethereal. Her body was sucked into the Dragon Bullet that rode a Mental Energy stream and vanished, shocking everyone as none were even able to react.
“Let’s go,” Slayer said as veins popped all over his forehead. Immediately in response, five System Slayers stood up, shocking Aronaut as they seemed used to this, “We’re going on a hunt again.”
“Sir, what’s happening? What hunt?” Aronaut asked, controlling his thumping heart as he felt things suddenly stopped making sense anymore.
He was stunned, rooted to the spot in shock upon seeing his fellow peers—System Slayers that had reached Level 99—all glare at him simultaneously, staring at him like he was beneath them.
Alarmed, his figure teleported away as simultaneously, five other spatial mana streams too flashed about, cancelling his teleportation as Aronaut reappeared a couple of metres away.
“Dammit, what’s happening with the lot of you?” Aronaut stared in shock, feeling a strange sense of foreboding that things weren’t the same anymore.
“I told you that Compass was different from the other Main Characters. But, you were too overconfident, Slayer.” One of the System Slayers that had reached the peak expressed her anger, “We invested way too much into this for him to steal everything at the last minute.”
“You shouldn’t have renamed Gobugobumon as Regriel.”
“You five head to the Talon Secret Organisation’s headquarters. He’s still there. Compass Carburettor isn’t strong enough to face us yet. Don’t allow him to grow anymore.” Slayer said, watching all the System Slayers nervously huddle behind Aronaut. “I’ll handle this group and come after you.”
“What a waste. We spent more than a few centuries on nurturing them.” The feminine voice expressed her irritation as the five System Slayers that had reached the peak vanished, teleporting towards the Talon Secret Organisation.
“Why…are you doing this? Weren’t we allies?” Aronaut glared at Slayer, “Wasn’t our goal to combine our strengths and protect ourselves from the Systems?”
“Against Grade 1 Systems, yes. Against Grade 2 Systems, there’s a chance of survival. But,” Slayer spoke calmly as a mystical power flowed out of him, sealing the space, extracting it into a different dimension, “There’s no possibility of survival against Grade 3 Systems.”
“The only way to go about it is to create your own world. But even with a world under you, it’s impossible to face a Grade 3 System that controls hundreds, if not thousands of worlds.” Slayer spoke slowly as he closed in on Aronaut, smiling wryly as he said, “So, I need to do something about it, right?”
“The Main Character System is the easiest way to achieve that. So…I’ve been collecting it all along in hopes of…multiplying it.”
Grade 2 Systems were capable of fragmenting themselves into billions. But Grade 1 Systems weren’t able to do this. Despite that, the Main Character System, a Grade 1 System was able to fragment itself.
Anyone that defied their fate would notice a fragment of the Main Character System forming in them. Unfortunately, fragmenting into 10,000 pieces was the limit of the Main Character System.
This was what Slayer didn’t like, wishing to create more fragments. But that didn’t seem to be his only goal as Aronaut shuddered in response, watching Slayer exude more and more power, gritting his teeth to say, “Slayer! I won’t hold back any longer!”
“Don’t test my limits!”
“I’ll be taking your Personal Fragment.” Slayer spoke honestly as he looked at the others, “And that includes the Personal Fragments of all of you. Since Compass Carburettor interfered, there’s a definite possibility that this plan might fail. So, I’ll wait until he’s dead before recreating it again.”
“This is why the Main Characters are annoying. Anyway,” He massaged his forehead before tilting his head, letting out a turbid breath of air, “I’ve done this many times. Repeating it once more isn’t that big a deal.”
Boom!
Mana burst out of his body as Slayer’s figure rapidly transformed into a hill-sized Titan as the room strangely expanded in volume to accommodate him.
Immediately, winds blew as rumbling sounds resounded. Aronaut stared solemnly as hundreds of tornadoes flew towards him like bullets, flickering with lightning.
Core Skill—Shadow World (Level 99)!
Aronaut activated one of his Core Skills, darkening the entire world as the tornadoes lost power, dissipating immediately as the mana in the air died out, replaced by an entirely different power system’s energy, one of darkness.
“Impressive!” Slayer muttered as he snapped his finger.
Core Skill—Temporal Art (Level 99)!
Boom!
The darkness cracked before shattering like glass, countering Aronaut’s power as the energy morphed once again, turning into a form of spirit energy typically seen in Cultivation Worlds.
Core Skill—Swarm (Level 99)!
Aronaut wasn’t willing to leave things in Slayer’s favour, causing the space in the room to expand grandly, becoming vast, grander than a world as countless creatures began to appear one after another, world-devouring in nature that swooped in on Slayer.
“So, you were the one that killed that System…” Slayer nodded in understanding, “I had been aiming for it myself.”
Staring at the gigantic creatures as big as the moon, Slayer was dazed for a moment before he took out a tiny straw doll, snapping it in half.
