Chapter 649: In My Past (part 14)
Chapter 649: In My Past (part 14)
“Keuk!” Daka Felera coughed out blood as she stared incredulously, noticing that her bond with Gilthru had been severed.
She wasn’t flustered though, staring at a badge—similar to the one that she had given Gilthru—as she spoke, “Dad, it happened just as you had predicted.”
“Good, I know what that bastard Magister wants, but he’ll never get it.” A voice resounded from the badge that evaporated immediately after, “My spell has already taken effect on Gilthru. Even if he’s no longer your tamed beast, he’ll be on our side during the critical moment.”
…
“Arghhh!” Gilthru screamed the moment he got up as the restriction in his mind that prevented him from experiencing emotions beyond a certain limit vanished, causing him to reel from the fact that he had slaughtered an entire Kingdom, of his human race.
“Keuk…!” He clenched his face, exerting strength as his fingers dug into his cheeks. He didn’t even notice it as he was suffering from pain, reeling from everything he had done as a tamed beast.
And most of all, his hatred was blooming, wishing to destroy the Demon Race that had slaughtered his home and cause his loved ones to suffer a life of hell.
“You’re free now.” Magister’s voice resounded in his ears as Gilthru quickly calmed down;
He stared at the visage of the old man as he uttered in confusion, “What are you doing here…old man?”
“You have a great memory power.” Magister smiled in response. He had met Gilthru in the past when he was only a child. That was only because he could sense that Gilthru’s fate was enormous, hence he was curious.
A magic circle formed on Gilthru’s forehead as Magister said, “This magic circle will help calm you down when necessary. Take your time to revisit your past without losing yourself in self-pity and regret.”
He then pointed at Zaira, “She’s a survivor of the Mukar Kingdom. So, if you wish to atone for your sins, assist her with all your might.”
Gilthru stared at Zaira, closing his eyes as he dropped to the floor, prostrating in submission, “I won’t ask for forgiveness. But, I just ask you to keep me alive until I exact revenge on the Demons.”
“Fine…” Zaira held back, sensing the dense hatred churning within the other party, ‘So, he’s not a wild beast that likes slaughter. Fine, as long as he has a conscience, I would continue to eat him from within. That’s the best torture he can experience.’
She did wish to torture the heck out of the entity that had destroyed her home. And since Gilthru would be tortured by his past for as long as he was alive, she didn’t press further and allowed him to live.
Her attention then fell upon the Tiara that Magister had granted her, focusing on it when suddenly, her eyes widened in shock, sensing a world similar to reality with starlight flowing like streams, all seeping into the Tiara on her head.
‘What the…?’ She was shocked, focusing on it for a moment when her eyes fell on the starlight stream flowing into her from Gilthru, surprised at what happened next.
[I’ll kill the Demons!]
[I’m trash that couldn’t even protect my mother!]
[Scum like me shouldn’t be alive! No, I’ll kill myself after all the Demons are dead!]
She was hearing his thoughts, or rather, whenever someone thought about Demons, their Mental Energy streams flowed into her Tiara.
“How is it?” Magister asked, expressing his curiosity.
“What…exactly is this?” Zaira was unable to make sense of it, wondering why she was able to listen to the thoughts of others through it.
“You’ll be able to harness the wishes of others and grant them.” Magister’s voice resounded in her ears, preventing others from listening in on it as he continued, “It took me a while to gather all the materials required to create this. It’s impossible for a second item of its calibre to exist anywhere, whether in this world or the myriad worlds.”
“Something this precious…” Zaira felt it odd that she was given such a thing. First of all, she couldn’t understand the item’s purpose. Secondly, she didn’t know how it would help her mission to kill the Saint of Calamity. Thirdly, she didn’t know who the old man before her was.
But as the Hemish Emperor proclaimed devotedly to call forth Magister, she had an inkling that Magister was probably a deity of sorts or something along those lines.
As if he had heard her thoughts, Magister said, “My identity isn’t all that special. I’m just a representative of worlds such as this. And in this world, the strongest of every race is aware of my existence and has communicated with me at least once.”
His figure pointed at Zaira, announcing to everyone, “This is Hero Zaira.”
Following that, he vanished as raucous cheers erupted in the throne room. Even though the ministers were unaware of Magister’s existence, upon seeing the Emperor’s enthusiasm, they followed suit.
“The Hero has been recognised by the Guardian Deity!” The Hemish Emperor finally announced Magister’s identity, causing everyone to be shocked as he continued, “This is a sign that our darkest times are approaching an end.”
Rumble!
The strongest Emperors from the other races in the alliance arrived in the throne room, teleported here by the Hemish Emperor. They had been observing the state of things from a hidden room nearby, having witnessed everything.
The Elven Empress was the first to speak, “With the blessings of the Guardian Deity, the Hero and the Braves will vanquish evil and free our continent!”
“You have the privilege to meet our protector.” The Dwarven Emperor gazed at Zaira to speak, grinning as he announced, “The Hero and her companions can visit our Empire to obtain the best of equipment for their journey.”
“The glory of…”
The various Emperors announced one after another, causing the Braves to feel pressured. As for Zaira, she was barely able to remain standing, sweating internally upon hearing the thoughts directed at her thanks to the Mental Energy streams.
And the more she heard them, the more her eyes lost their lustre before soon, faint starlight twinkled from them.
